Cool concept and great execution! I loved the input display, the art (sun is veeery cool), and the powers are nice. I wish it was a bit more challenging though, because If I had been punished I would definitely retry a few time to reach the end!

I hope you’ll keep working on that one, it’s great :D

Thank you very much! Very glad you had some fun with it. It's definitely a bit easy now, didn't leave too much room for balancing/playtesting at the end. Though I guess usually I err on the side of being too difficult, perhaps I'll get it next time :)
I'm definitely gonna keep working with this one, thanks again for your kind words!

This is so cool.... the music change when you zoom using c is awesome..... this one is soo underated

Developer

Thanks a lot! Very happy you enjoyed it :D

That was awesome!! Really ingenious control scheme and resource management. Took me a minute to realize the planets were recharge stations. I was at first under the impression I Had to protect them from the fireballs, but it was a relief to discover they flew right past :)

I really loved the graphics style, the shader effects were super stylish and had a really cool title screen. The zig zag graphic style of the sun was very unique, and it feels like some sort of cosmological illustration in an old book. I think you could really go far exploring this style!

I had a fun play through! A few close calls, but the game wasn't very punishing so I was able to recover, which I'm thankful for so I could learn as I went along and ended with a win :)

No real bugs to report either - just minor things I noticed: the countdown timer does not have a leading zero so it shows 2:5 instead of 2:05. And at 3:15 in the video I got catapulted across the galaxy at an exceptionally high speed, which may not be fully intended.

Overall it was a great experience and I had a really fun time playing! Great work

Wow, thank you so much!! I loved seeing your playthrough, I think I could spot the exact moment you figured out the planetary recharge :) You're correct on the bugs, though the main one I see is the meteor collision (which explains 3:15). They're all supposed to disappear on impact first time but I didn't get the hitboxes quite right I think.
Very happy you loved the style as well. Unfortunately the CRT-shader you see in the title screen caused some trouble in the main game on web so I had to leave it out for now. But yeah, the abstract graphics I'd like to do more with as well, I may not continue with this exact game per se but I'll certainly be working on my little rocket and solar system for some time.

Thanks again for your lovely words, and for taking the time to record a video. Very much appreciated, have a great jam! :)

This is fantastic! Love the art and audio, the controls took some getting used to but they're fun very fun too. I love that you have to sit at the different planets to recharge the gauge its very cool, but I found that sitting on the shield planet while holding up the shield makes the game very easy lol. The use of the limitation is great too, 3X the amount of "two button one action," I loved it!

Developer

Thank you so much!! Yup, the shield and weapon planets can definitely be abused for unlimited  healing/venting. To be honest I didn't leave much room for playtesting this time, but I'm very happy with this project so I'll definitely be tinkering with it more :)
Thanks again for your kind words, very glad you enjoyed!

i said "woah" out loud when the game un-zoomed with muffled music, really cool ! i might be a bit clumsy with the controls so i kept dying a lot 😆 but the game was very enjoyable, the music is especially impressive as well, which software did you use to make it ?

good luck in the jam!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The movement is certainly a bit wonky so that's not on you ;) The music was made for a previous jam, but I'm happy I got to do something new with it here, really glad you enjoyed the effects! I make all my music in Reason.

Thanks again for your kind words, best of luck to you too!

Great game! The adaptive music when you press C is absolutely amazing

Developer

Thanks a lot! Very happy you enjoyed that. I must admit I had the song laying around from a previous game, kinda forgot how it was to jam solo. Loved your music as well, much appreciated!

Game is awesome, I especially liked pressing C, it made me feel powerful. I think it would feel nicer if the spaceship didn't rotate as fast while holding forwards. The fast rotating is great for turning around and shooting at the meteors but it also means you need to tap your arrow keys while circling around the sun.  Amazing job dude!

Developer

Thank you very much!!
Appreciate your input, and I think you're right on the rotation. In hindsight it's maneuverability you don't need.  I'll definitely be tinkering with this rocket and solar system some more!

Thanks again for your kind words!

Good game! I just ran away and didn't get my heat meter up very high, it was pretty easy. I also never jused the shot to shoot meteors, that wasn't nessessory, but that doesn't matter. Also good music!

Developer

Thanks a lot!! Yeah there's definitely a lot of tweaking to do, you can also survive by just sticking to the yellow planet and have unlimited healing :) I had the idea that the player would also have to fight the sun and therefore move close to it, but didn't have time in the end and just popped a timer in. Happy to hear you got some enjoyment as is though, thanks again!

A boss sounds cool, but a timer works fine, i indeed enjoyed it

this game is so cool!!! In the future I would recommend creating a web build, downloads make getting ratings really difficult.

Great use of the theme, as well as the restriction. Love the multipurpose shield + healing, shoot + venting and everything. I think that this game needs more of an in-game tutorial, but that's obviously tough for a short jam, especially if you are solo. I know there is a "help" screen but it's a bit cluttered.

Overall the concept, visuals and gameplay are really solid. Amazing job dude!

Thank you so much for playing!! I intended for it to be a web build, but sadly i realized last minute that the it broke the camera view somehow.

I certainly agree on the tutorial (though believe it or not, this is one of my better ones), very glad you managed to figure things out regardless!

This was quite a frantic and sudden jam for me, really hadn't thought i would get this far this weekend. As soon as I've caught up on sleep Ill try and see if if i can fix the web build and do some more polishing the coming week.

Thanks again for your kind words, really appreciate you giving it a go!
