Cool games! Loved how you used limitation to create interesting movement mechanic. The idea that u can capture objects with bubbles and then use them (boosts) elevates gameplay to a new level. Game has very fun theme and I can appreciate that mechanics and theme are strongly connected and serve each other. Art and music are simple and good, perfect for the game jam. Now I wanna criticise game a bit. Overall I find level design good but some things dont exactly fit like thin blocks which look kinda strange. Also game has a timer and encourages speedrunning but in some places it loses momentum which brakes pacing. Mentioned examples showed in the video below. These are more nit-picks, overtoad great game!
P.s. to fix jittering of the frog you can change position of the camera in FixedUpdate()Play game

thanks for the feedback!!! I really appreciate that you even took the time to include a video. On that note, it looks like you broke my levels LOL.
In the first clip, you aren't supposed to make it through the top gap. You are supposed to capture the top bubble and then swing through the bottom gap.
And in the second clip, you're not supposed to be able to pass through that thin wall (bad programming on my part), you're supposed to shoot the bubble through the gap and then swing underneath.
P.S. I loved your game btw
Very creative gameplay and I鈥檓 really happy that it has 7 levels. My team and I tried it simultaneously, and we had a real fun time doing so. Well done :)
Perfect. Except the white transition screens that blew my eyes 馃槄.
IT'S SO CUTE I LOVE IT!!! i'm terrible at platformers tho lol but still even tho i struggled a lot with it it was so cute and fun and creative.... :)
EDIT: my sister played it and whenever she used a bubble or made a big jump she stuck out her tongue irl :)
WOWW!! that was such an interesting grapple mechanic and 10/10 on level design!!! The physics tuning felt perfect and the bubble capture mechanic made this really unique.
I really loved the level of difficulty you made for this. The final level was SOOOO satisfying to get into the groove. The final level was *chefs kiss* for flow state. I really liked the rhythm of that one the best (and i got super lucky on the "sorry" part! :D) The only level I had to skip was level 5 -- I was not really a fan of the boosts forming a wall like that. My only other critique would be the music loop being just a bit too short as well. Given how addicting it is to play, and that it takes a good 10-15 min to beat, I'd love to have something a little less repetitive especially when it starts to get frustrating as a player, the short loop feels like it's mocking my failure lol. The music wasn't bad or anything, just short. And the sound design was otherwise excellent.
I had so much fun playing tho and those are just minor points (I'm thankful for the level select and being able to mute the music, so they were both able to be remedied in my playthru)!! Amazing work!! :)
tysm for the positive feedback! I'm glad to hear the difficulty was ok, I've heard from a lot of people that it's pretty difficult.
Also thanks for the feedback on music / level 5, I'm glad it was relatively minor things. It's also fun to see someone else play our game haha, thanks for including the video!
This is quite a fun game. reminds me of penny's big breakaway with how it's grapple mechanic works. I think one excellent improvement that could have made the game feel a little better would be if I could keep holding left click after shooting to grapple rather than needing to let go and click again but I can see why its like that for setting up grapples in the later levels.
Last level was certainly a challenge but it was really fun and rewarding when I got the timing just right. (certainly helped that I've already played games with a similar mechanic.)
I beat it with a toadal time of 615, 300 of them came from the last level, but without mouse! I'm so proud... EXCELLENT GAME!!!
Fantastic game!! Excellent use of the limitation, very cool movement and mechanics and even if it is hard at times, I feel like it should be. There's some really satisfying chains of jumps in there that need a few tries to be appreciated. Lovely presentation too, and I'll probably be whistling the theme for the rest of the day. Very enjoyable throughout, great work!
nice idea and it fits well with the limitation! cute frog :D it was really hard... but overall great work!
