AMAZING!!!!!!! LIFE CHANGING!!!!!! Seriously, this game is so freaking cool! The aesthetic is genuinely amazing, for a 3 day jam especially. It reminds me of old Nick cartoons almost, like Making Fiends or something (especially with the dark turn lol). The writing is sharp and the cynical tone contrasts nicely with the cutesy aesthetic, even though it made me sad. I felt like the dialogue went kind of slowly and it would sometimes clip outside of the dialogue box, but these are minor issues. The sound design and music are really great and do a lot of heavy lifting for making the hide-and-seek component engaging and interesting, and obviously the perspective-changing flip mechanic is superb. Great job, guys--I look forward to seeing what you make in the future.
Great game and I love the concept; one thing that annoyed me is the direction of rotation was always opposite of what I expected pressing the arrows. Got quite creepy by the end I like the ending xD
solid! i dont need to reiterate the comments on some of the collision jankiness, this is still super cool for a 3 day jam! charming art style that nicely contrasts the snark of the writing and the dark undertones. i really enjoyed being called a flightless skin bird and preventing the cute animal friends from returning to their loved ones XD
I really enjoyed the way the game unfolds as you progress. The flipping mechanic is pretty cool, though it's a bit weird at times since I have to flip while facing one perspective and then change to a different one to get to some places.
Without repeating too much of what others have said, the collision is really weird, especially with jumping, and I can see the collision shape at times. I also noticed that the font for the first level complete wasn't the same as the others, which I imagine is unintentional.
Thank you so much for checking it out! But I agree the flipping thing is definitely a bit unintuitive at times. We wanted it to be a cool puzzle element that you could activate and deactivate but due to the ability to flip the camera it can be a bit confusing and janky. I think we will look in to changing how it operates.
And thanks for pointing out the level complete thing we never noticed that haha. We will fix that when we can!
Awesome game! Made me feel like I was playing Super Paper Mario but as a existential horror game.
The graphics are amazing, and the audio was great, i couldnt play it much due to my laptop but this is my favorite one so far!
This is very cool, I love the game's atmosphere and mechanics. Collisions need some polishing though. I also noticed that I can sometimes see the collision sphere when there is nothing behind it, not sure if this is intentional
Thank you so much! Yes the collisions are definitely holding the game back. It was very hard to fix them during the game due to some conflicting mechanics. As for the collision sphere its actually a thing used to cast a player shadow but we definitely should have fixed that and will work on a fix for that.
This game is awesome, I really liked the perspective idea, and the tutorial was very well made.
This is my new favorite game of the jam. I like you can change perspective to find the hiders. I also like the flipping. You really did it well with the paper.
Also, I love the dark turn the game takes...
Maybe the best-looking game and the one with the best implementation of the theme and limitation in this jam!
Well done!
