Really fun game and a nice usage of the two buttons! The art and music work well with it. On my first run through I ended up knocking the bowl over and then on my second run I got 7 grams off.

I was confused for a bit at the start about the number counter since I misread the G as a 6. You could probably just ditch the G altogether and then put a label nearby saying grams or something. Also found a slight bug. If you launch enough objects into the bowl at once they kind of explode with the game heavily lagging for a bit and some going through the collider.

Thanks for playing and the thoughtful comment.  I'm glad you had fun with it. 7 grams is better than my personal best, so I guess you hold the world record now :)

You make a good point about the G. If I decide to work on this some more after the jam, I'll do something about it. I did notice that bug and I have no idea how to address it. I figured it's okay for such a short game and some physics jank is part of the fun, but I might look into better ways to do particle physics in unity for the future.

Really interesting concept, and certainly one that I'm terrible at. I found myself having to restart a few times just with the milk, but oddly enough the backside of the platform worked real well for the sugar and flour haha! I wasn't sure if there was a reset button, and I ended up refreshing the page to try again. Overall nice work!

Developer(+1)

I definitely should have made a way to reset. It was difficult with the limitation though. Maybe that's something is do if I were to update this game after the jam. Thanks for playing!

i am a sucker for wizards, my first attempt i was 30 grams off, love the bowls expression and the wizard is very cute.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game and taking the time to comment. That's a pretty good score for a first attempt; my personal best so far is 8 grams.

Tiny wizard bakes a cake and it's very cute while doing so!

It is very easy to knock the bowl down, even on your first go, but it made us laugh while playing, so we had some good time with this!

Developer

Making the bowl easy to knock down was a conscious design decision. I'm glad you had fun with it. Did you eventually manage to leave it standing upright?

Submitted(+1)

Not at all on my first playthrough, I happened to knock it down at a really unfortunate angle. On my second playthrough I was a bit more careful and the game went much more smoothly!

Developer

I should probably have an option to restart somehow and made restarting the game after you've played it once skip the opening dialog. I'm glad you had fun with it regardless though. I hope knocking over the bowl was as much fun as getting it right, because that what I was going for :)

The music was great and looped well. The expressions on the bowl were a great addition. Great game good luck.

Developer

The music was generated by soundraw.io (and slightly edited). I'm so glad you liked the expressions on the bowl, I really hoped that would add some personality to the game.

Interesting! there is another one that follows a similar principle. I had a similar idea but I didn’t try to implement it. Instead of a fixed thing, you should paint lines on screen that would turn into slides for ingredients. But maybe next time, haha..

Developer

Thanks. I did consider something like that, bit I had enough new things I was learning this jam already and felt like it would fit the limitation sightly less well. Do you remember which other game was similar to mine? I'd love to play it.

I think it was this https://itch.io/jam/mini-jam-94-baking/rate/1296665 In that case you build a path for a cake to move it to the oven.
