Dat VO. I can tell there's a lot of depth and work that went into this, but it's insanely difficult at the moment. Check out my review of your game at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Thanks so much for playing and reviewing!
I appreciate the tip about Audacity. Glad you were amused by the voiceovers; a lot of people commented on those. I actually recorded them at the absolute last minute.
I'll work on the difficulty curve. I end up playing my own game so much that I get really good at it, so I lose sight of the challenge level.
In terms of the controls, the game really wasn't designed for the mouse. My intention was that the dominant hand would rest on the keys I (Swing Sword), J (Berserk Charge), K (Shell of Courage), and L (Torrent of Flame), which are clustered together on the keyboard. That leaves the non-dominant hand on WASD (if you're right handed) or the arrow keys (if you're left handed). In retrospect, I probably should have turned off the mouse attack option entirely, because most players don't have three hands.
The UI interfering with the real estate was something that I wrestled with. At certain points in development I mostly hid it (except for the heart/scar icons), but then it's almost impossible to remember which abilities are unlocked (and you can't keep track of where the cooldown is). I need a hard think about this one.
Lastly--I really enjoyed watching you play. Your verbal comments were very helpful, but in addition to that, actually watching a person play your game is incredibly valuable feedback in itself. Cheers.
I LOVE the sound effects, gives me nostalgic vibes. Clever use of the limitation too! Great game with the right amount of difficulty
Awesome game, with good looking art and good sound effects.
It also uses the limitation really well with the mechanics used.
One suggestion I have is to add the input keys next to their respective abilities, as I'd sometimes forget what key does what and accidentally launch myself in one direction xd
The voice over is nice. nice hero and different graphics for ennemies, it take lot of times to do this , good work.
awesome game! the controls are smooth and responsive, art is simple but neat, the sound effects are great! especially with the voice overs, the gameplay is challenging and I would like to play it again (good replay value), overall I enjoyed playing this one ! congratulations! keep it up!
FRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! Hah, loved the voiceovers. I wasn't sure if I would be able to beat this one, but I eventually realized I could just dodge the bats. The serpent gave me a run for my money too. I really liked the atmosphere of this, and thought the use of the limitation was pretty unique. Maybe it's me, but I couldn't figure out how to use the Singing Blade and there didn't seem to be a control mentioned for it. Only other thing I noticed was the music didn't loop on the boss fight. Overall great job!
Nice game! The sound effects are also good, is it "that's better"? It keeps ringing lol.
Fun and the abilities when you take damage mechanic is really interesting.
Ahah, it's so cool and fun, I especially liked that you steamed up and did a voiceover. The restrictions are done well, the game looks very cool, it's fun to play ;D
