Oh my God, that was so horror! Interesting tricks and hooks,
I would see how it turns out to make a whole game.
My only gripe is overkill with some special effects (chromatic aberration for example)/

overall quality is really great! didn't read the short description so I got mindblowned with the concept, controls feel great, funni NPCs n spooky E (don't wanna spoil), made me do 2nd playthru to realize the RNG on the first key n try waiting instead of getting scared, definitely would play the full game great job man :D

oh my god, please please please make this a full game, it has so much potential

The art style for this game was really awesome and the movement felt very fluid

Wow this demo was awesome, I was sad it was over so soon. I would pay for a full experience for sure. Incredible work!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really considering making a full game out of this because of everyone's comments!

Wow! This is amazing. Not just super polished but also really creative concept. I started making up in my head what the mystery happening in the 3D space could be. Would be curious to see this being expanded on :) Great work!

Well, I didn't expect that at all! Great use of the theme! Polished, fun and surprising!

Great idea! I am very happy that I didn't read the "What is Joyous?" part of the game description before I played. ;)

Is there a way to escape from the "Exit" screen if you take that route or is that the end of the demo?

Developer

I'm glad that you enjoyed it! The "connection terminated" screen is the end of the game unfortunately!

Hah- that was pretty fun; I liked the duality of it all :D

Wow that was crazy, everything is just really good in this game! Even though I suck at platforming and generally don’t like or play it, I really enjoyed this game once I got past the first key! It looks quite polished too, I’m amazed you did it in 3 days! Congrats for making me enjoy your game that much even though I thought I wouldn’t :)

(By the way, would you mind explaining/sharing how you did the RGB trail following the player? I got into Unity shader graph & VFX a few days before the jam and I’d love to know how to do something similar!)

Developer

I used Sprite Trails, a paid asset from the asset store I grabbed a while back. It is very versatile and value for money.

It's honestly incredible you managed to do this in a period of time this short. It's funny and looks good, well done !

This game is really cool, I can see many cool possibilities with the concept. The visuals were also great, I love the post processing effect. Good job!

im always a sucker for CRT effect haha. Loved the zap out to the "real" (3d) world. wish there was more content out there but this is still great for a single weekend

I love the post-processing effect that was applied to this game.

Got stuck at the part where theres a key with a cage and stuff, maybe make it more clear?

Developer

I've changed the old man's dialog to help you through the code section. It should be more clear now!
