So polished! I'm blown away.
I got to 93! Who else got a higher score?? That was a fun part of my day! This would be cool if you added a left hand mechanic as well (Those left handed functions would allow you to in a way "catch" objects that help obtain items to help you achieve a higher score!). Great job!
maybe we Will....
The aesthetics are excellent, beautiful presentation, but the game is too easy, maybe you could just add things like more speed, additional keys or maybe combinations (two arrow keys at the same time) so the player has to be more aware to not fail.
But without counting on that, the game is simple but very well polished with an amazing look. Great job! :) .
Nice game!
The presentation is amazing! Simple, yet really well polished!
The gameplay itself, while clean and well implemented, I think it was way too easy, even after the arrows got closer. It would’ve been interesting if you actually had the blacksmith make some weapons to use them as another mechanic, to vary the gameplay a little.
so much ideas we hadn't time to implement.
thanks for the kind words.
maybe there will be an upgrade soon.
I completely understand, it happens to me all the time.. haha
Wow, amazing game, i have played such kind a game with monkeys only when i was a child, thanks for cool flashback!
Im amazed by the visuals, but I don't know about mixing genres... And I got bored really fast
yeah, we get it.
there was suposed to be more mechanics so the game would become more frenetic, but we simply could not spare more of our time for other reasons.
thanks for trying and the feedback.
maybe in the future we will upgrade the mechanics...
I would love that, because I see much potential in this game! Really, like, the more you get it right the finest your swords get! Damn that would be awesome, so first the rhythm then you go and fight someone IDK HAHAHAHAH
But its really really nice art!
"he rhythm then you go and fight someone"
that was discussed, haha.
what if...
really simple game with really nice art and virtual.
Satisfying to press my arrow key. I also really like the sound.
glad you liked it =D
As others have already pointed out, the art is solid, and the polish is apparent. My only issues involve the mix of themes (which really isnt a deal breaker), as well as the lack of real rhythm to this game. Due to the soft song choice I feel as though I’m just timing my key presses off visuals alone rather than to the music. I think some slight tweaks to keep the velocity of the arrows in sync with the music would help in this regard. Overall though really great job!
totally get it man, we are aware of this issue.
we kinda intended the hammer hit to create the "rithym".
also, we could only dedicate less than 24 hours over all because of other issues, so a lot of our ideas had to die so we could deliver.
but thanks for trying. :D
I guess I didn’t need to state the obvious then. Knowing now that it was less than 24 hours of overall work it really does amplify just how solid this entry is. I just want to restate and say I think you guys should be proud of the work you put in.
"Blacksmith Revolution", this name came in my mind after playing at your game, indeed, it reminded me a lot of the rhythm/dance games.
Overall, it is a cool entry, I liked the increasing difficulty, and I managed to do a score of 93!
Nice score!
we really did only in one day because we could not dedicate more of our time because a lot of reason there was a lot we intended to add (and maybe will...)
Nice mix! The game is a little buggy but it's fun, great job!
The art and the sounds are great and the game is really funny. The only thing is that it looks more like a rhythm game, I don't see the blacksmith simulator theme.
I love the art style! It's not really a mix of genres though... It seems more like a rhythm game, not a "blacksmith simulator."
Everyone here agrees, that the art is superb, so I'll just add that the hammer swing has a really satisfying impact! The animation and camera shake are very nice.
Lining up gameplay to a music rhythm is very hard - for me it was out of synch. Sometimes I heard some unpleasant static when the hammer hit.
Overall though a very nice game - especially for your first jam!
Nice art and animations, but I don't hear any music. Isn't music the core of rhythm games?
Great art and feels responsive, but If can't figure out how does this adapt to the theme. Otherwise, one of the best good-looking games from the jam!
thanks for the feedback
Very pretty, but I don't know how it fits the theme, for me it's only a rhythm game and nothing more, you could add sth different because at that state nothing changes and is really repetitive.
But art 5/5 :)
The time was a little cruel and we had to reduce the scope a little. Also, its our First Jam and we dont have a Lot of experience. Thanks for trying It.
i love the art, nice one
