Very fun game. I had some trouble with timing when switching lanes near an automatic switch but that might be solved with some practice. Looks very polished too

Pretty decent, especially for a first game. I would considering changing movement with AD/arrows instead of the hook, but that's up to you guys. Though, I'd recommend making the automatic lane switch happen a bit sooner, because now the player is always too late if there's an obstacle.

Fun little game! Get it working on phones, polish it a little, and you might have yourself a deal with a publisher here. ;)

Good game, I enjoyed playing it. I struggled with the controls on my pc. Sometimes it would switch lanes and other times it would not.

It was fun :) nice job

This is a pretty fun arcade game. You've done a good job with music and sound design as well as taking full advantage of the artkit.

I can definitely see some room for improvements as everyone pointing that out, I won't make the details bother you...

As being the first game you guys ever made, this is far better than mine!  Good job you guys, being in a team really eases up things for everyone, huh!? Sure you guys had fun!

Very fun concept, with nice aesthetics. I had difficulty with the hook, it seemed like it operated on some combination of aiming the hook's direction, but the distance being based on timing of releasing the button. I found it very difficult to control where I wanted to, but it was still a fun ride for several attempts. I hope you continue development, I'm looking forward to playing more. :)

Developer

Hi! Thank you for playing the game!.
A note about the Hook: It always moves the same distance, unless you hit a bat or touch the wall (it comes back immediately).
Thank you for the encouragement, we are seeing what we are going to do with this little game!.

No idea how you switch tracks, it felt like it was happening kinda randomly. Your beginning cinematic was pretty blurry and I was scared your game might look like that but thankfully it wasn't.  I'm not a big endless runner guy, but I'm glad I got to play yours!

Hey!, Thank you for playing the game and leaving a comment here. We were scared that people might think that the game looked like the beginning cinematic!. You can switch tracks if you left click on the screen and the hook touches the wall!. You can also move by letting your character touch the turning tracks, they make you change track automatically.
Thank you again for playing the game!

Good twist on an endless runner, having the hook collect coins is actually pretty cool and adds more depth to the player movement. Could easily make a nice little mobile game out of this with a few more weeks work.

Nice little game. Feels very well polished. Great job! :)

Great game! It feels a lot like an arcade game; I played a bunch of times and I got a highscore of 107! Very well polished! Could easily be an addictive mobile game.

Pros

-Cool intro screen, a bit low res tho

-Loved the aesthetics and music!

-I liked that there was a tutorial, but I didn't really help (Though I learned I could get gems with my pickaxe from it). I had to play the game a couple times to learn how to play.

-The forced rail movements added a lot of difficulty to the game

-I liked the darkness effect (maybe added in some bloom through post-processing to make the gems look really shiny :D)

-I liked the pickaxe movement. WSAD/arrowkeys lane movements wouldve been a lot easier, but this adds a lot of complexity to the game. I think it would have been cool to make the pickaxe range unlimited and let the pickaxe movement go concurrently with the auto-lane switch rails. So you could buffer lane transitions to make multi-lane transitions.

Cons

-I wished the mine hook would move a bit faster given some of the situations I was put in lol

-I encountered some situations where i was surrounded by enemies(two rocks, 1 bat) and I couldn't dodge no matter what lane I was in. I realized later that the bats could be killed with the mining hook.

-Would be nice to have a sound volume slider

-Not sure what was at the end of the timer since I never made it, but I felt a bit rushed by it.

Awesome game, great job everyone!

Wow! Thank your for the detailed review and the kind words!. You nailed the CONS of the game, we are taking notes!.

About the timer in the screen, actually the game isn't an endless runner, when the timer reaches 0 you "escaped the mine" and you Win!.
Thank you for playing the game!

This is a nice way to innovate in endless runners games! But I hate those lane changers :P

I love the sprites on the side really make you feel like you're in a abandoned mine shaft. I would love to change lanes whenever tough with a faster speed that increases faster, that could result in a faster experience but overall really cool game and well done.
