Fun tower defense game! The theme felt a bit underutilized but awesome job getting something out!

Interesting take on tower defense. Feels like I was a little arbitrarily restricted in movement, wasnt obvious to me why i could only ride in the areas i could. Also, there was no way to visualise towers' range, making strategy hard. The towers didn't seem to have great target priority, and it looked like they picked what was closest to them, rather than what was furthest in line like most tower defenses. This wouldn't be too much of a problem on its own, but combined with the tiny monkeys which easily sped past the towers made it a bit too difficult. The bullets themselves missed fairly frequently, which doesnt feel great when the towers are the only line of defense - I would get me not being competent and leaving spots unprotected, but the towers should be able to hit enemies without fail. The art was great, but didn't mesh well with the background and having 0 UI art, even just reusing the tower sprites made it feel pretty bland. Finally, only half of the buttons in the menu worked. I still had a good time playing though, and think this could be amazing with a bit more time and polish put into it.

Interesting game, 2nd tower defense I've seen. Both games have had an issue properly incorporating the theme both jump putting the player on a bike with no further thought. I think a lot of menu buttons can be taken out since they don't do anything, and N didn't fullscreen for me I had to use the built in one (Which cut off some of the game). Would have liked the in game menu to have more customization done to it. As for art it looks strange... I can't describe it. Sound is fine I suppose. I think a no hit run would be impossible for this game, I couldn't even beat wave 3. Would have liked to see more towers (Unless they show up later). Overall this game just needs some more work and I think it can be a good game, but not really fit for the jam's theme

Forgot to mention I also had trouble placing towers where I wanted, a lot of times they would play right where the button is :/

It's a cute tower defense game with a lot of great art, but it feels as though there isn't much strategy involved, and the Bicycle part seems ham fisted in.

Yes we had ran into issues with certain things on the get go. We originally had planned to get Random Map Generation in, and I was pushing for it as it would have been a very unique thing to accomplish and as such it was scrapped later than it should have been and thus lead to us rushing to get things done.

i like tower defence :3 it felt like there is no way to defeat the last level tho :(

Right now it is really dependent on the RNG, Everything is randomized which was the original purpose of the game to create a fresh feel for each play through. Sadly some mechanics did not make it in. We also learned a lot of tower defense are spent with a lot of balancing.

I like the tower defense idea, but I had some problems with the game:

  • You can't really tell which tower is selected, after some x ammount of time the button deselects itself and you just have to guess
  • If you try to press one of the towers button to select it, and it was selected, it immediatly puts a tower down there the button is on the map
  • Bubi's tower and mouse's tower don't really look different at a quick glance. I wish their shapes could be even more different or the whole building could be of a really different color that could be tell apart quickly.
  • The win is rather random, I still had enemies coming when I won. It made me kind of confused
  • I didn't really find an excuse to have a bubi tower over mouse tower. Maybe having a different attack entirely would help with that? (Like a boomerang attack or flame thrower in-place)
  • I felt rather boxed, as the "walkable" area seemed a little bit random. Would loved to be more near the thing I had to defend on the first level.

Still, a pretty good game for only 3 days of work!! Congrats on having made such a complicated game in such a short time!! That's amazing

Really like the idea of a tower defence/city builder! Props on getting multiple levels done. I love the variety in the monkees.

I really like the original mechanic of running over enemies to damage them, but its hard to tell if its working because there's no indicator. I also felt a little boxed in by the invisible walls, but overall strong design.

Summary: There was obviously going to be a Tower Defence to be stumbled across eventually! Not bad at all! Liked the unfixed camera idea, allowing to explore around even though it is only a small map. The game ended just as I was getting back into the Tower Defence endorphin stage too, but that's to be expected. Nice game! And, to be honest, Mouse Tower supremacy. Bubi can go home, 5 towers over 1 any day hehe

The gameplay after the first stage is a little tough but it's solid and fun. The music is great and the atmosphere is awesome. Unfortunately if you lose you have to play from stage 1 again but that doesn't change the fact that you did a great job! The game is good, good luck!

Nice little tower defense entry :). The second stage starts off a bit difficult due to the surge of big bois right off the bat XD.

Also kept placing towers under the menu when trying to click the tower button (rip), just small things :).

Really cute game!

Couldn't really click on the how to play button and rest of the settings. Lots of UI being cut off, so I lost lots of times. The art is cute and really well done! Just a little sad that it didn't really match with the pixel art in the background. The music was fun to hear as well.

Be proud of what you were able to accomplish in 3 days! Well done!

Is something wrong with the screen-size or at start enemies fall to the tower outside of my view? Took a bit to see my first monkeeh~ cute one too hihi, thought the smaller ones are the cutest!

Its dependant on a 1920 x 1080 Aspect Ratio if its lower then that you will not be able to see UI elements. If we can I will try and get it fixed to allow for other aspect ratios

Aah gotcha, all essentials seem to work, just the menu and UI is a bit confusing due to it, but otherwise it all works!

Thats great to hear... I already compiled a list of fixes that I see now. I dont know if we will be able to update builds in the next 24 hours but if we can my team and I plan to be awake in the Morning EST to implement changes.
