This felt very personal, the writing was amazingly good, the scribly art set a fitting "lost meaning" kind of vibe that I quite like. Overall an amazing visual novel with a beautiful message fitting very well with theme.
Thanks for playing!!
Very VERY lovely game. It hits you a lot...
It's frustrating trying to type the </a> and just see it "dissapear" when in reality, the character is there, it just turns into a ghost.
Thanks for making it.
Thank YOU for playing it!
It is not only a visual novel but also a tutorial to web development. Although I got stuck at <a> because the </a> disappears when I type it.
Web dev/10
Yeah thats kinda annoying, didnt notice the full build had a bug like that, shame that is an easy fix.
Thanks for playing my game!
Very sweet and short little game. I enjoyed the writing. Also for some reason the click SFX just sounds so satisfying to me...
The mouse click is very relaxing for me as well!
Thank you for playing my game!
My antivirus was very scared of it but it was a chill game !
SHOCK!!!
I assure you theres no viruses!
I swear on my muffin!
Thanks for playing my game!!!
Pretty cool game ! Is the protagonist a self-insert ?
Abit yeah!
I know it sounds melodramatic but at the end of the day, the point of view that I can most understand and tell a story of is myself.
Thank you for playing!
Very touching and beautiful story! The text input in the coding tasks was a bit buggy with parts of the text disappearing sometimes, but bugs like that are expected for such a short time. For the actual tasks, I feel like it was an interesting idea but in practice it ended up being more just following exactly what the text said without much thinking. I would've enjoyed if they were more like little puzzles, but I imagine the focus was more on telling the story, which is fair and the story is really good. Great stuff!
Thank you!
Yeah I wanted it to be how my work really is but I cant figure out how to make it in such a short time (I started making the game in the last day).
Lessons were learned (maybe) to not last minute stuff (I'm lazy so it will happen again)
Very relatable, I procrastinated figuring out how to build stuff until the jam started and was only barely able to get a working web build out in the end 😭
Super glad I gave this a try, this was basically the definition of "short but sweet" to me. Very relatable, more so since the subathon started which feels just like you describe Neuro's content in the game. Loved it!
The subathon has consumed my life as well.
Thanks for playing!!
This was beatiful. I really like the artstyle, the prose was very emotional and talked to my soul. It all felt very genuine.
Only negative is that it doesn't seem to fit the theme very well. At least in my opinion. But this game is something special made with passion and love.
I see alot of people disregard their parents and just be very antagonistic about them. They treat their parents like its just their early past life (like remnants of the past TM). My dad recently said hes 56 now and I remember when he was my age. So I was like "damn my dad is getting old, I remember when his age was the same as mine now"
Anyways ramblings aside, Treat your loved ones in your life better.
Thanks for playing my game!
I would like to play the game, but I'm stuck on the first part.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but after entering the Welcome header, it tells me that I'm correct, and a next button appears - but when I click that, I'm not getting a new question.
If I try pressing enter it says "Incorrect. Try again!" which suggests that the game logic moved on to the next question, but for some reason the graphics don't update.
I'm attempting to play on a win10 virtual machine - I have to use a VM, since I'm on linux.
I'm also on linux (NixOS 24.11) and I was able to finish the game just fine by adding it to steam as a non-steam game (+ icon in the bottom left of your library) then running it with Proton (right click the game -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool -> Proton Hotfix), maybe that helps?
Thank you for the tip, that did the trick!
Glad it worked!
Oh no!
I tested it with a couple of machines but didnt test on VMs.
I'm sorry!
Don't worry about it, you couldn't have possibly accounted for my scuffed setup xd
In the end I managed to get it working using Lilliana Raquel's tip: adding it to steam and using the Steam Play compatibility tool (version Proton Hotfix). I made a little tutorial, in case anyone has a similar problem:
The game itself was very heartfelt and touching in its honesty. It's amazing, how Neuro and co can inspire such emotions in her fans.
The background music was a really nice choice too - did you make it for this occasion? I couldn't find the title anywhere.
Thank you for making this, and I wish you the best!
This is lovely and I did not expect it to be so sad and relatable. I might have even shed a tear.
Thanks for playing!
AHHHHHHH, holly molly
Alright gonna be honest with you i didnt expect nothing from these game and in some way
it hit close to home, very close, the way it was written and also how the topic of the jam
interconects with the game, it is very creative and also , a reality check (at leats for me)
good job
Thank you for playing my game!
nice idea that teaches the player some html code. there's a small bug for the <a> part, typing the closing tag </a> actually gets consumed by the text box and disappears, but the player can still proceed nonetheless. i like the visual novel. good job!
The bug didn't show when i was working on it so its a build thing I guess.
Played through it and you're right, but it still proceeds, seems like only a visual bug.
Thank you for playing my game!
Couldn't figure out what you wanted me to do with the <a> example.
Sorry for the confusion!
it should be <a href="https://(link)">Text</a>
Thank you for playing my game!
Very cute game I love the art and the story !! Also very relatable
