Game is pretty cool overall, it surely asks for more content, so I'd like to see it in the future with some more levels and stuff
Yess, for sure! Thanks for playing ! :D
The game has fantastic art on 2d and sprites. Although it is hard to fight Evil neuro using the OSU weapon.
Error/10
I agree, the osu weapon needs a buff. Thanks for playing though!
What a high quality platformer and it's quite hard. Combat could be better though. Good job!
Thank you for playing, and sorry you had trouble with the combat ;-;
How should I jump up this platform? The jump height is just not enough
Well I get it, I have to hold the W button so I can dash upwards
We should've made it more clear, but you can actually dash vertically by holding W and D and pressing space to dash.
Very nice art in the cutscenes and the neuro sprites. The audio was good too.
I like the idea of the pins giving you different abilities, and the game controls pretty well. The weapons felt a bit clunky to use though. I tried playing through with the OSU tablet but felt it didn't work so well, unless I'm missing something. I retried with the pickaxe that was more straight forward to use at least.
The final boss against Evil was cool and pretty tricky. But once I figured out you could jump on top of her and spam the pickaxe it wasn't too bad.
Nice job!
The game is amazing to play, the movement feels awesome, and the visuals and sound design are gorgeous. But there are some design problems
First of all, the weapons. There are 2 flaws with the weapons. The first flaw is that they are not balanced. The OSU tablet is so confusing to use, and I gave up using it halfway through. The pickaxe is ok I guess, and the microphone shoots too slow and deals too little dps to be useful. The second flaw is that the only reason to ever use the weapon is the boss fight. The drones do little damage and the mosquitos can be easily avoided, so I just didn't care to use my weapons on them and just did the platforming
Secondly, the boss fight herself. This is probably a skill issue but with the weapons I have, it was very difficult. The only way I could beat Evil Neuro was by jumping on her head with the pickaxe and spam-clicking since Evil doesn't fly close enough to hit with the pickaxe. I also tried to beat her with the microphone but with the little dps it has, I just gave up on the 3rd attempt.
Overall, I enjoyed playing the game and had a ton of fun, but those 2 issues need ironing out
The levels where intentionally nerfed to the ground to ensure the player would be able to reach the final fight seems that might have gone a little overboard. (But some people seem to have enjoyed that aspect?) As for the pickaxe the goal was to jump and attack her while mid air as its hitbox is actually rather large (abit larger than the blue slash in front of her) but yes the osu weapon and the microphone where poorly balanced and felt too challenging to use.
It's a little scope creep for me. There is a lot of mechanics and only few levels to use them. The final boss was very well made (patterns were good and fun to learn) but unfortunately the bossfight itself wasn't very fun to play because most of my bullets weren't even able to reach it most of the time.
I like the art for sure! Characters in the visual novel parts where really pretty and main character during gameplay also looked very nice.
When it comes to movement.. the initial movement velocity and acceleration were too fast for my taste but most frustrating was when Neuro touched the wall and I couldn't make jump (before unlocking wall jump). The level design was brutal, everything is just too cramped.
This game lacks some basic juice in combat like hit feedback.
I like the soundtrack and the fact that different boss phases have slightly different music is great!
Overall the game is an a combination of well implemented movement mechanics and bad level design with the very well made bossfight at the end.
Fun game! The details are super nice like the platforms casting shadows. Controls are nice. Sometimes the level itself feels a little cramped for how fast Neuro goes. Very complete game for a jam!
Thanks for playing !!!
I really enjoyed the concept of the game. My favorite part has to be evil's fight, the music and bullet patterns are great. Overall the entire art design and presentation of the game is fantastic. The sprites, subtle shadow effects you have, title screen and drawings for neruo, evil and vedal, and everything else. The only part that needs more work is the movement and control. Some platforms are a bit too close making simple jumps precise, and after dying, the death transition feels slightly too long. Maybe having dash be on another button would make it so that the player is able to dash even when they are clinging on a wall. Outside of the fine tuning, you have a fantastic game with great potential and tons of charm, great job :)
Liked the game, unfortunately I chose the osu weapon. I spent (no joke) two hours on the final boss and was only able to whittle their health to half before giving up. Using the pickaxe, I was able to beat them in 4 minutes. Otherwise, all the art is great :)
Oh my god, thanks for trying to play for so long!!! Yes use the pickaxe to everyone who sees this.
Fun short game.
I struggled a bit with the controls at first because she's so fast horizontally and slides quite a bit for how small the levels are.
I tried the pickaxe weapon which was pretty fun to use considering you can pretty much rush down enemies.
Final boss took a couple tries cuz I ended up dying after killing her once or twice from the remaining projectiles. I found you can sit on top of her if you manage to balance and with a melee weapon like the pickaxe you melt her health pretty fast which was super fun.
The visual novel parts were fun and in character, great job to the team !
Thanks for playing m8
I really struggle with platformers personally but I ended up enjoying it a bunch. The final boss feels impossible with the microphone weapon (barely reduced her health!) but the game is very well made otherwise. Mad props
Thank you so much for playing!!! We should've definitely spent a lot more time on balancing the weapons, especially with a boss like that one :D
We only tested the best item which is the pickaxe www, but thanks for playing
I really like the art style. It's very polished, well done!
In terms of gameplay, I'd say the controls are a bit weird. Also I took the osu weapon but it seems very hard to use. I didn't know if I had to kill the enemies or not and I couldn't pass the Evil boss fight. If all her projectiles block my own projectile it's almost impossible to hit her.
Yeah we might've made her boss a bit too hard LOL
Tysm though for rating!
