The inclusion of a leaderboard made the game waaaaay more addictive than it should've been.

Nice job!

Also shout out to the dudes who managed to go below 45 seconds, those times are tough.

Game is pretty cool, although I couldn't finish it because it managed to trigger my motion sickness pretty hard.

Sorry I need to go lay down now...

Oh I love the artstyle btw

Nice job, fun speedrun game.

Thanks, I'm glad that you thought so. I liked what you did for your game, the music was great!

Fun speedrun game, a gift counter would be really helpful since I kept missing one and backtracked a lot

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!I am sorry that that was frustrating

I do agree, thanks for playing my game!

I wonder who dug that many holes in the library

Developer

XD, probably Evil

It was a fun play and enjoyed the abandoned archive vibe.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad that you liked the vibe!

Im on my Linux laptop, unforch, so I only played the browser version. Trying to pitch the camera makes it both pitch and yaw, which is uncomfortable to have to counteract. Interacting with things with E didnt make anything happen...

Hopefully you're right about the Windows download. When I get on my Windows desktop, I'll have a better experience, I suppose.

Thanks for trying it out, Im sorry you had such a rough time. I'll build for Linux in the future, I just never have. Make sure to read the Info board in game. To start your run and interact with the gifts in Evil's Archive,™ first pick up the GymBag.™

I hope you have a better experience on your next play-through!

The only Abandoned Archive that we will see. I like that there is an actual working leaderboard. Cool game.

Thank you for playing, I'm glad that you thought it was cool

I'm really a fan of speedrun games. It's fun to jump around and navigate the labyrinth, although I would have appreciated a gift counter and maybe a minimap. Also, some of the holes are a pain to get out of, especially in dark places.

Developer

Thank you for playing my game! I do see the benefit to those quality of life features and will consider them In the future. I definitely should have added the counter though, such a simple UI element. Next time I suppose!

Really fun game. I managed to get a time under a minute, could probably shave of a couple more seconds if i wanted to learn the exact route.

The only thing that annoyed me is that picking up the presents felt really inconsistent. Besides that, i had fun. Wish there were more obstacles though, especially since the one present that is placed on the obstacle is also easily skippable.

Developer

Thank you for playing my game! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I know why, if you have the E key held down before it goes over a present you don't grab it. your mouse must be over it first, then you hit E. I unfortunately didn't have time in the end because there were many other, larger, issues I had to overcome as this is the first 3D game I've ever released. In the end I completely forgot about it

No worries, it was fun anyway. :)

Managed to squeeze the time to 48 seconds since i was unsatisfied with my run, probably as far as i can go without finding some crazy shortcuts or a much better path.

Developer

Congratulations! :D
That is a very fast time, Thanks for playing! Im sure Neuro is very happy to have her gifts back so fast XD

For the end Scene I really wanted to have a table and on it the GymBag™ with a bunch of gifts in and around it with a happy birthday sign posted above aaaand possibly Neuro. I really did not have any time to attempt that though.

Developer

Uh oh, TTsuyuki your time was just beaten!

Neat little speedrun game.

As mentioned already the obvious.

The setting and story are nicely coinciding.

Well done for the time given!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you had an enjoyable experience, It was a blast to make!

fun, fun enough for me to get WR while playing, which took a while.

As for criticism, I don't think I can state much other than the obvious, such as the relatively basic gameplay, the level of graphical fidelity. I would definitely like to see the gift counter, that's one of the biggest problems.
I'm glad that the common bug of walking forward and sideways still lives on.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing my game! Congrats on your WR! Yeah, I decided that it would be better left unfixed :D
