Description
Soundtrack for an imaginary rpg game.
I based my music on the image artwork by @azfrankenstein and the given title Runaway. I used Logic Pro.

Song 1: The Green Tree is a song about the 'advice tree' that the protagonist Azra goes to see.

Song 2: Dancing Mushrooms is a song about dancing mushrooms 🙂 in the forest.

Song 3: Listen to the Baby is a song about the baby on the back of the protagonist who has a story to tell.

Song 4: Stars Coming Closer is a song about the night in which the stars are getting closer to earth towards the protagonist.

Song 5: Trying to Sleep is a song about the protagonist trying to get some sleep.

Song 6: Azra's Theme is the theme song for the protagonist.

Theme:

Runaway
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I used the given title Runaway and the image as a big inspiration for the atmosphere and specific scenes. I imagined game scenes in a forest, with dancing mushrooms, a wise tree, a baby with a story, the protagonist Azra and happenings in the middle of the night.

The third track definitely made me want to run away. I like the dancing mushrooms a lot more than the horror circus. The organ gets really fun in the last track too. I'd love to see what visuals you imagined when writing this. Great soundtrack! My only complaint - raise the volume so I can hear it better!

Hahaha! Thank you for your nice & useful feedback!

I love this style. Very child friendly. Especially Azra's theme. Could easily fit into a Pokémon game. The Mushroom Dance was really wonky. Made me laugh. Very well done. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks very much, good to hear! Yeah those mushrooms went for it :)

Very nice soundtrack! Really onomatopoeic music, I loved it, good work!

Developer

Had to google that word onomato... :) thank you, that's an interesting description of it!

That was such a unique take, I can't imagine how your brain works. I can feel like every songs works with each other, you really created a whole universe. In terms of quality, I think the mix could clearly be up a notch in terms of dynamics and volume. Compositions is fine but nothing too crazy either. Good job.

Thanks for your nice comments and useful feedback!! The image was mega inspiring for me!  Yeah indeed, the lo-fi-ness :) is something I'm trying to find my way with or from or through, not sure yet

This was highly unexpected. I appreciate that you took the risk of playing with dissonance, reaching almost atonal ambient landscapes, with Trying to Sleep being some kind of peak. The Green Tree almost sounds like some kind of John Cage experiment. These short pieces a rife with personality and I loved them all.

What a nice feedback!! Very refreshing and interesting to hear what you thought of it, gives a whole new perspective on my music. Thank you for this!

Track 1: definitely funky... there's something incredibly quaint about these dainty, yet janky, harmonies in the piano. This first track is a perfect example of effective writing: not too long, repetitive, or drawn out at all, with unique harmonies and a very particular sound that you own!

Track 2: Another perfect example of keeping things short and sweet. I am obsessed with this soundtrack so far: you say exactly what you need to say, it takes 20 seconds, it's very interesting, and it's time to move on. There's a lot of people, me included, who could learn from this!

Track 3: this track is a perfect dose of creepiness, and it flows perfectly from one key to the next-- very interesting to listen to!

Track 4: while this track is slightly more repetitive than the first three, it is completely justified and actually quite effective. Instead of sounding repetitive it feels like a minimalist piece... really love it, great stuff!

Track 5: beautiful and nuanced theme, and I love how easily this and the other tracks flow right from key to key. Really cool stuff!

Track 6: after only one repetition of this rhythmic idea, you immediately begin to change and develop it! You are an excellent composer... what an interesting track!

In all, this is possibly one of the best soundtracks I've heard yet-- seriously innovative, with effortless harmonic interest, and a really unique timbre. Keep writing, bravo!

I really like the minimalist approach that kept the music to the essentials. Each track had its own sense of character and setting - dare I say these tracks are 'adorable'?  I especially liked the quiet and sparseness of Trying to Sleep.

Developer

Thanks very much!!

Hahaha, yes adorable is definitely accepted, interesting take on it!

Definitely got spooky vibes from this. I think my favorite is Trying to Sleep. There's something quite unsettling about those small pitch bends. They make me feel quite uneasy. Like, you can feel like something is very off about this place, but can't put your finger on what yet. The Green Tree has this same eerie vibe. I think these two are my personal favourites because it's all so subtle. There's something deeply unsettling about them that feels like a scary movie before you've seen the monster.

Also quite like Azra's Theme and Stars Coming Closer. But here the haunting vibe is less subtle. They're still good, but somehow I felt more intrigued with the subtler ones. Now I feel almost like I've entered a spooky fair.

Cool music!

Developer

Thanks very much!! It's great to hear what the music did for you!

Hahaha the spooky fair, I get that

Very unique sounding, almost has a Alice and Wonderland type vibe from the way you describe it. I like it, good job!

Developer

Ah nice, I like that vibe! Thank you!!

Some really good work with the composition. I think the organ gives a circus vibe - maybe a little maniacal  sounding for it.

Developer

Thanks for your listening and feedback! Hahaha, yeah some of it is definitely a little maniacal
