Description
Hello! I'm Jickboi and this soundtrack consists of two individual tracks that was inspired by the artwork/theme of this OST Jam and the cover art used is by @kawaakar._.

This is my first attempt at any type of Jam so I decided to take it slow and not put too much pressure on myself, which lead me to creating two tracks both around 1 minute and thirty seconds long. The genre of these compositions are orchestral and I created them using the DAW FL Studios. The type of game I composed for would be more like a gacha or rpg game similar to Genshin Impact. "Wanderer of the Sea" is more like a idle/menu theme while "Dance of the Sea" is more like a fighting theme. I hope these short pieces brings you much joy and can captivate your heart! Feel free to give feedback!

How does it fit the theme?
Instrument selection played a major part in my creative process as I tried my best to find sounds that would fit the underwater theme of the artwork. I chose to use a harp and a glockenspiel as the featured sounds in track 1 (Wanderer of the Sea) and track 2 (Dance of the Sea) respectively.

It's time for the perfect soundtracks for fairy tales, juhu! I like it)

I'm a fan of the harp/strings combo. Instant RPG feel. Wanderer of the Sea: I like the sliding down/up effects in the strings towards the end. Very playful. How do you create this? Dance of the Sea: Instant pirate vibe with the 6/8 jig. Neat orchestration too, I like how you move the theme around in different sections. Very energetic piece with attention to details. Really solid entry for your first time. kudos!

Loved the energy of Dance of the Sea! I could imagine the waters moving with the music on this one!

Wanderer of the Sea. kind of reminded me of the bonfire theme in Dark Souls.

Dance of the Sea. Great structure with  2 action heavy sections separated by a calmer B part in between. Its one that I like to use a lot. I like how you gave multiple sections the the melody to keep it fresh. My favorite part was the bass line in the last section.

If i had to offer some critiques, I would reccommend you look into the percussion in Dance of the Sea. The cymbal crash at the start sound a little off. The whole piece could have used some louder percussion or some kind of low brass/cello staccato ostinato to add to the energy. Hope that helps a little!

Great work!

I liked the high horns in the second track!

great job with the ocean vibe! You managed to make two unique songs sound coherent in a central theme, while still making them both sound original in their own way. I loved the high energy of the second piece too- I see why you called it the Dance of the Sea!

Really got some Austin Wintory vibes here, like from Journey or Abzu. While it might not be the best production. It realy bursts with a great idea and even grater potential. Really looking forward to hear more from you.

I can really feel the salty spray listening to the tracks lol ! I love the slow start to the wanderers of the sea and energy in dance of the sea, I think it was an immaculate job to contrast the two. A very solid entry !

I would really appreciate if you could rate my entry too !

Thanks

I may have wanted to dance a lil at Dance of the Sea. Just a lil one like a lil jig.

Enjoyable listen, I like your instrumentation!

The strings on the first track are quite pretty, and I think that you nailed the underwater sort of vibe. Good work!

This is also my first jam! Really like Dance of the Sea! Great job

Dance of the Sea is definitely my favorite, it really caught my attention (especially with the brass).

And kudos to not putting too much pressure on yourself - I decided the same thing, keeping myself to just over three minutes of a single track. That being said, I can't believe how much some of the other people here were able to put together in such a short time!

Congrats on your first jam!

I think harp and glockenspiel were good choices. I also like the way dance of the sea builds to a trumpet fanfare. It's a pity it ended just when it was getting started!
