Description
Genre: Orchestral, Thai influence

Game: I feel that this would be most appropriate for something like a visual novel or other story-rich genre, as the piece tells a specific story.

Tracks: The project contains only one track, but it is comprised of multiple sections which I felt were best left as one connect track. The first portion begins with the young girl (represented by the flute-like khlui approximate) free from worry as her ancestor (represented by the stringed saw u approximate) working as a counter melody/bassline in the background. However, the ancestor slowly becomes more present until the young girl notices her, at which point she recoils in fear. The ancestor attempts to console her, but the girl is frightened and conflict breaks out between them. Eventually the ancestor quiets the girl so that she can let the girl into her world for a moment, showing that she means no harm. Eventually, the girl comes to understand and softly begins to relate to it, until the two come together in harmonious resolution, fully sharing their worlds with one another.

It was definitely fun, heh)

I like that each instrument is trying to tell a "different" story

Is this your first experience? Cool! Good luck with your future musical endeavors.

Thanks for the interesting experience!

Very interesting choice of instruments in this one! Kudos on arranging and composing with such a varied selection, major respect to those who can pay due respects to instruments and their origins. The introduction of the stringed instrument around the 1:40 mark was neat - enjoyed the change of texture, and you can't beat a little bit of tremolo!

All in all this made for an interesting listen! Good work with the arrangement and production. Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing your process on the community tab!

There’s a lot of interesting dissonant work and I love that. Overall it was a nice composition and loved the Thai influence! I actually wish you had better VST’s to truly bring your work to the next level, but I’m actually impressed by the tones you were able to get out here! Great unique submission!

Ahaha that's the dream!!

Take my take with a big container of salt, my submission  has tons of problems of this kind :)

Your participation in the community tab brought me here.

You achieved very interesting color with your composition. Those melodic lines at the start...sometimes a bit chaotic...I absolutely love them!!

You manage a musical language that I don't really know so your music sounded very interesting and unique for me.

Well done!

I like when specific instruments represent specific things! It adds a lot to the story of a song.

Interesting composition! I only read the explanations after listening, but I thought it made sense! When I listened to it, I felt a sense of danger (it reminded me a bit of the same feeling of dread as when the moon is slowly falling in Zelda Majora's Mask!) and then afterwards (so with the child’s theme) I had the impression that the resolution was positive and that the world was saved (and then at times I wasn't so sure aha). Nice participation and continue your journey into music production!

Thank you so much! I'm glad that it's reminding people of soundtracks of other very good games!

The thai influence in the composition gives a really diverse energy to this work! You can clearly hear every passage you describes so good compositional story telling!

I don’t know if you’re an animal crossing fan, but this sounds like a kk slider song lol in my opinion that’s a massive compliment. K.K. Worlds Collide.

I played animal crossing for a solid month during covid so I love the compliment!

Really interesting and unique proposal! It specially moved me the ending section from 2:40 when the two characters start to harmonize.

Very cute! It was nice to listen to, a change of pace!

The use of percussive sounds and the silly, out of tune instruments are perfect, its like I can see the image in my head while im listening. I love this

Quite impressive for a beginner! Good work

Thank you so much! I have musical background but I've only just started learning music production in the past few months so I'm glad to hear that you liked it!

I really like the Thai influence! I'm still going through submissions, but you're the first one to do that!

Developer

Thank you! I felt as though the culture was an important part of the image prompt so I looked up the artist and they seemed to be Thai, so I tried to learn as much as I could about classical Thai music in the time that I had. I contained it to one section of the piece because I didn't feel that a few days of research could do it justice (and I couldn't find free VST plugins for Thai instruments) so I hope it came across well!

Quite goofy in my opinion! Fun listen!

Developer

I was hoping the young girl's theme would be pretty light-hearted!
