Description
When I originally started looking at the theme of jam I imagined some sort of more classical/orchestral composition, so I started with some strings and piano. Later, as I was composing I needed more instruments, so I look through the old faithful (FLEX) and found presets that were more suitable for ambient track. From that point I made a beginning of the track and set overall feel. The core idea in the composition is switching between tools and there range so composition would feel pretty "light" as an ambient track. Trough out the composition piano sets the tempo, strings are in the back, and the other 2 are for beat.
Message from the artist
Hi, this is my first time entering such event so I would love some feedback and comments about my work because I am relatively new to this with only 6 month of experience in making music.
If someone is interested here are the tools that I used in the track.
- DAW: Fl Studio
- Plugin: FLEX
- Presets: String Theory, Sponged Up, Nasal Charge, Epiano Life
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
I believe the choice of instruments (strings, piano, pluck) as well the progression of a song fits pretty well with theme of a more chill/nostalgic ambient composition.

So... First of all: cool cover art!
Secondly: It's very soothing... Heh)
Very relaxing and nice instrument choices!
Really impressive with only 6 months of experience! The track is really calm and pleasant, I just want to live in it for a while <3
the shaky violins are the best. i love the ethereal vibes it has going on
I think that the echo you used was done very well and never got too crowded which is a good thing.
So dreamy and ambient… you really nailed the feel with your sound selection!
Excellent work! Very peaceful and dreamy, it fits the theme (and specially the picture) really well. Some of the sounds you chose made me remember the early electronic music, like from Isao Tomita.
I absolutely adore your choice of instruments and voicing throughout this entire track. Erring on the peaceful and mellow side of things with just the right amount of ambiguity and pensiveness. I really like how you've varied the synths as the track progresses, from more sustained and filtered leads into sharply decaying staccato sounding patches. Progression of the piece itself is great - I like that lull that crops up around the half-way point before it continues driving on with some additional dubbing of those short decaying near-pizzicato sounding synths.
Really nailed the vibe with this - it's so easy to get lost in. Dream-like, even. Normally I'm advocate for some sort of percussive rhythm, no matter how simple, but the absence of it in this track does it justice. Great work, I really enjoyed listening to it.
Nice and peaceful track. Somewhat nostalgic too, nice job!
Thanks for comment and kind words, always appreciate it!
Lovely chilled out and harmonious track! I too would really like to hear a bit more about your process of composing, and why you chose the sounds you did, because that would be interesting.
Thanks for kind words. A few people did ask for description, so I did add little something for more context.
I love the peaceful ambiance this song brings to the table! I definitely agree with JerryStuff about this song being used in the same setting Minecraft uses its tracks. It definitely does sound something that would be "Inside My World," but I think it would help listeners have a deeper understanding of what you were going for and how you made the track if you added a description to it. But aside from that small nitpick, everything else about the piece is pretty good.
Overall it's a very ambient and relaxing track that I enjoyed listening to!
That's all I have to say really, have a good day :D
Thank for feedback always appreciate it. I did aim for a more peaceful/chill track but also it did turn out slightly melancholic though. And yeah the Minecraft analogy definitely hits close, but can’t really say its captures the feeling of C418 tracks. Also did add a little description.
That was a very nice song! I could totally hear this in an ambiance setting, sort of the way Minecraft plays its music. It's a good interpretation on the picture, but I wish there were comments about your process and how you came to making this. Overall, it's a pretty chill track and it has nice, soothing sounding instruments, and while throughout it feels like the song is a bit lost, I can definitely hear what you were aiming for. Keep it up!
Thank for feedback always appreciate it. I can agree that some parts don’t feel coherent enough, mainly because I feel more comfortable making tracks under 2 minutes, so in some parts it was hard to make a good transition. Also thanks for positive words and I did add some description.
