Description
Welcome inside Kokoro's Dream; a submission to the OS7 Game Jam. I have chosen to submit 3 tracks to this jam, with a total runtime of 7 minutes and 7 seconds.
I was inspired greatly by the visual prompt (provided by @kawaakar._) and by the text theme "Inside My World". The game plot I devised is below:
Kokoro wanders through dreams, which manifest as an ocean full of bubbles (unique game mechanic of dream-walking)
She’s a young girl who manifests her real-life trauma as fantastical experiences
She finds a small thing (bubble creature) that she attempts to keep safe
The traumas manifest as an oarfish, known as the ‘Dark Serpent’ following until it eventually catches up to them and begins to strangulate her
They elude the serpent twice, yet during the third encounter it constricts them and she awakens
The three tracks submitted follow three main plot point:
- "Kokoro's Theme" - the title character's theme and main theme for the game
- "The Storm" - her first experiences with trauma
- "Bubble-walking" - the theme of the game mechanic

I liked the honky tonk piano in Kokoro's theme! It made it sound more dreamlike!

I agree that it would’ve been nice to hear some reverb on the guitars, but other than that, this was a really smooth and cohesive soundtrack!
I really liked the ambience and uneasiness of the storm track, the drones are really effective!
Loved the guitar performance--it added a lot of life to Kokoro's Theme (my favorite track of this submission!). I think the Storm goes on a little too long, as it doesn't really develop sonicly or compositionally. Nice work!

Nice ambiences, maybe the voicings of the piano in "Bubble Walking" are a bit too low and we may not understand all that is played (try to make the voicing notes a bit further the ones from another)! Nice ambiences in the other two tracks!
Bubble walking is very dreamy, fitting! Kokoro's theme is magical and simple and recognizable melody. The Storm felt very calm and chill, like hiding inside a cave during the storm, nice ambience!
I enjoy how different the tracks are, yet they still feel like they belong in the same game. The guitar would be nice with a bit of reverb though. Overall, your concept is imaginative, and your music tells the story wonderfully. Great work!
Had an enjoyable stay. Kokoro's Theme is my favorite. The instruments fit together nicely, and I like that guitar. The track stands out from the others. Nice entry!
