Description
Ambient and orchestral track, made in FL Studio
Message from the artist
I started 3 days before the deadline so I lowkey just spent most of that time re-learning my DAW :P
In any case, I learned a lot during this jam and had a lot of fun as well. I hope you enjoy my music!
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
Pela is the name of the girl, after Pelagiidae, a family of jellyfish.
The visual and sentence theme together both gave me the impression that the girl is in a dream with her deceased mother, and they are both enjoying each other’s company for the last time through the girl’s memories. I aimed to create a dreamlike soundscape to represent this experience.
I wanted to express the hope, optimism, and gratitude that the girl would feel towards her mother in these moments. I imagine that the mother was a marine biologist, and had named her daughter after her favorite jellyfish. The girl was raised in an environment where she could explore her natural curiosity towards her mother’s profession, and it became a shared world.
In this song, I interpret the phrase “Inside my world” to mean from the perspective of the mother and daughter interchangeably. From the mother’s perspective, she is sharing her world with her daughter by having nurtured her curiosity and inspiring her. From the daughter’s perspective, everything she is experiencing: the fish, bubbles, and sadly her mother as well, exists only inside her head, and will all disappear when she inevitably wakes up.

I liked the clarinet/oboe part a lot
Glad to hear it! :D
Straight away, very very nice indeed! Gorgeous melody, great timbres in the electronics, and real poise with introducing new sections. Just a lovely listen, really enojyed it!
Thank you!!
this is lovely! that piano part is beautiful, the panned scales work really nicely within the textures you chose, and the pads and the sound design add a depth that ties the whole thing together. this deserves more love! <3
Wow I really appreciate that!!
Sounds phenomenal, the ambient style is absolutely ON POINT, great piano sounds, great pads. Only at 1 min 08 when the Oboe (I think its a Oboe or some similar woodwinds) repeats the piano melody its on the same range as the piano just before, changing range for a moment even for the same melody woud've help breath a little bit more imo, personal take of course it still sounds great nonetheless. Well done !
Thank you so much! Yup, it's an oboe haha. Changing range totally makes sense, I appreciate the feedback!
Really beautiful piece, for me fits perfectly with your vission and with the picture you choose. Great job doing this great track in just 3 days.
Thank you!!
AAAAAA JELLYFISH!!!!
Very beautiful orchestration and the feeling of an underwater symphony concert.... I love it!
Thanks for 3 minutes of delightful underwater music)
So happy to hear you enjoyed it! :D
I love the traditional nature of this track. Awesome composition and lots of emotional depth. Really nailed the theme. Great work!
Thank you!!
Fantastic job, probably the song that best fits the image theme out of all of the entries I've heard. All of the little details come together to create a really lovely sound, and the piano sounds excellent. Would love to hear more, great work!
I'm absolutely flabbergasted, thank you so much!
Absolutely beautiful piece, def my fav of the solo piece entries I've heard so far. Great job!
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful soundscape and atmospheric sound painting. It's a short piece so there isn't much time to do so, but leaning into variations of the motifs a bit more would really bring this track to the next level. Otherwise this is a strong submission. Great job.
For sure haha, I was getting tripped up by my program towards the end and ran out of time for variations :P
I'm glad you still enjoyed it though, thank you for the kind words and feedback!
Like the soundscapes you are building! Very well done :D
Thank you!!
In 1:38sec, that watery effect was surprising. I didn't know that instrument could evoque the sense of water.
Very enjoyable track. I wish I could listen to more tracks from this OST. Let me know if you plan to continue it!
Yup, marimbas are very ocean-core haha! Thank you, and I'll let you know for sure!
The beautiful piano solo is mated perfectly to the atmospheric(?) pads giving this serious depth. Much quality and I do appreciate it!
Thank you so much!
