Description
Waves of the dragon is the main theme and driving force behind the themes in the other tracks with referenced melodies and instrumentation. Its supposed to represent one's fight for freedom within themselves. Its drenched in a medieval style with world music influences. The tracks are lean melodically in an uplifting, yet melancholic set of nuances. I used ableton to create these tracks with Spitfire audio's Labs for most of the samples. I imagined a sort of Ni No Kuniesque game visually and perhaps even mechanically.

Message from the artist
I hope you guys enjoy! This was a blast, and I love that stuff like this exists! Can't wait to hear the great stuff everyone came up with.

Theme

Chronicles of the Azure Sky: The White Dragon's Melody
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I tried to tie in a slew of influences that hopefully fully encompass the whimsical feeling of an RPG game with that art style.

I really like the instrument choices in this. That main theme track is top-notch too, the only "critique" is I wanted it to be longer

Waves of the Dragon: That percussion! I think your instrument choices were perfect for the theme!
Prayer to the Gods: Love the Dorian usage. Those winds are so expressive.
Village: More great percussion and more Dorian!

Great work! Perfect match for the theme to me.

This one feels like it'd fit right at home in some kind of medieval fantasy game. The flute/pan pipe-ish instrument at the end of track 1 really sells it!

I really like how you utilize rhythms in each pieces. Really should learn how to utilize more interesting rhythms like these.

Your music was TOP NOTCH tho. Beautiful! Made me think of a Ghibli film. Mixed with a Dynasty Warriors empires selection screen. ( I only know that cuz I BINGED those games as a kid.) Music was my favorite part. Then the second renditions was so delightful and made me think of a moonlit night. So good my friend.

I like the variation of wind instruments that you chose! The back-and-forth with the flute and the choir in "Prayer to the Gods" is really good. Whimsicality on point 🔥

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you think so! Thank you for listening and taking the time to give your perspective!

Love the wind instruments across the board, specifically that killer flute melody on the main theme!

Developer

Thank you so much!

I appreciate the choir, it adds a nice touch to the groove. It would be nice if the track could loop though. Good job man! :)

Developer

Thank you! Yea, I think I'm definitely gonna work on this stuff after the contest too. Just too much fun and there's always room to experiment and improve. Like trying get it to loop! :D

I will always enjoy any song with gospel choir in it! It is always so stunning.

Developer

It really gives me some good RPG vibes. I love the choice of instruments used, fits very well together.

I liked the main theme the most, but it just ends too abruptly for my taste :D

Developer(+1)

That's totally fair! I'm actually planning on running with the inspiration from these tracks and I'll probably do some work. I can see it would end too abruptly.

Very nice. Gave me Witcher 3 vibes. What instrument sample did you use for the pipe/accordion sound? Uilleann pipes?

Developer(+2)

Thank you! Yea it was Uilleann Pipes through Spitfires Labs
