Description
Memory Quest is a story-driven RPG with a retro aesthetic in which you play as Aurora, a woman in her late twenties who one day inexplicably wakes up with no recollection of her past. Understandably troubled by this, she gets in her car and sets out on a “journey to remember”, hoping to discover the cause of her memory loss.

The game opens with the “Out To Remember” theme, which evokes the start of Aurora’s journey and her determination to find out the truth about herself. While driving between the game’s different locations, the player is treated to the “Thrill Of The Drive” theme while playing a fun driving mini-game, as Aurora forgets about her worries and fully enjoys the moment while on the road.

Some of the locations Aurora visits during her adventure include “Temple-by-the-Sea” and the “City That Never Sleeps”, which are very different as the former is very peaceful while the latter is teeming with energy. While in these locations Aurora’s goal is to talk with people who might know her in order to remember her lost memories.

Whenever she does meet someone who is able to help her remember, the “Remembrance” theme plays, symbolizing the overwhelming emotion Aurora experiences as she gradually remembers everything she had forgotten.

Message from the artist:
The game will soon be available in early access! ;)

Theme

a journey to remember.
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I was inspired to write a cute, feel-good, yet emotional and most importantly retro-sounding OST from the Picture,

And the game I imagined fits the phrase "a journey to remember" with a specific take on what that expression means: here the goal of the protagonist's journey is to remember what she has forgotten, and achieving that goal will require her to go on a journey through multiple locations.

Words fail me: it seems that my comment was never sent / validated. I perfectly remember having listened to your OST in its entirety, and I never validated a rate without having written a comment: therefore, I had to leave the page following the validation of the vote, without having saved the comment. Since I wrote one to everyone involved, I am as surprised as I am sorry that mine is missing, and I will write you one immediately to make up for my mistake.

Extremely soft and dreamlike, the first music announces a very arerial theme whose orchestration intensifies the depth and impact. The changes of tonal planes are also very interesting in their enriching effect, making the return of the theme very appreciable. What is astonishing with this OST in general is the variety of instrumentation chosen, depending on the pieces and what they represent in the game. The dynamics of the second piece breaks the poetry of the first with formidable efficiency, and its 8-bit sounds used accentuate the happy-side while providing a fun Arcade aspect. While the third takes up again with the sweetness and poetry of the first, but with the use of soaring synthesizers from which emerges a melody with Japanese sounds. Alternating styles, the fourth track echoes the second, without a more groovy style that is extremely pleasant to listen to. Difficult to prevent oneself from waddling on it, so lively the rhythm is! Which is linked to a new sweet track, but this time with a touching expressiveness of nostalgia. Each melody of this OST is heady, and benefits from a perfect harmonization. We feel that the composer knows both musical creation and the field of video games (an excellent culture due to the subtle but present references to many classics of the genre).

Like it a lot! Especially 1st and 3rd pieces. Cool soundscapes.

A high quality soundtrack with a sweet nostalgic feeling. I would describe this as that music that makes you feel nostalgic for something you haven't played or listen before wtf. I think my favourite track is Temple by the sea. Very nice!

I really like this! Thrill of the Ride and Temple By the Sea were my favorites

What a creative subversion of the theme!!  I love your whole description, and it really adds to your music.  Super interesting sound work and choice of instrumentation.  I LOVE "City That Never Sleeps" – what a banger!

Very atmospheric, prefessional sounding and expressive. Every song is a masterpiece. Felt that nothing was missing.

Perfect.

Really loved the mix between modern and retro! Even though I knew it was going to happen because of the other comments, it was still a pleasant surprise when the chip tune melody came in during Out to Remember. Super nice job!

Perfect for summer road trips, very evocative. Temple by the Sea is quality water level music, always my favorite part of an OST. Going on in the car!

City that never sleeps is FONKY A F, good job

Now I really curious about that game ^_^.
"Out to Remember" sounds kinda Vangelis-que, very nice sound.
"Thrill of the Ride" reminds me more shoot'em up game style ^_^
and I don't know why, but for "City that Never Sleeps" I excepted something like lovecraftian horror mystery :D but groovy sounds good too ^_^

I love the game story, it perfectly fits the theme. And the music is really good, I’m looking forward to hear it in game :)

This grabbed me straight away, the chiptune lead melodies are so lyrical. I also freaking loved the FM funk of 'City That Never Sleeps', that was some proper 90s SEGA Megadrive music!

I also really like how it's been mixed, it feels very immersive to listen to and has just the right level of retro without it feeling like a crutch.

Your style is absolutely my jam, I thoroughly enjoyed listening!

Thank! I'm glad you liked it :) I also like that you wrote "Megadrive" and not "Genesis"... ;)

Thx! I used Valhalla Supermassive a lot for the verbs on this track, it's great for these "larger than life" verb sounds :)
