Nice mix of two genres. I do wish I could shoot the next ball a bit quicker and have a "power bar" when holding the space bar so you can have a little bit more control how hard you hit.

You can actually adjust the shot power with the up and down arrow keys, but I forgot to write that in the description.

Interesting mechanics! I included it in my Palette Jam 2 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Cool idea, I was thinking of going for that meaning of break but couldn't find any gameplay with it, but you definitely pulled it off! Good job :o

A clever mix of two genres, it does work as expected but I agree the balls should stop faster.

Cool concept ! Mixina a pool game with a break out is pretty smart & it work well.

Good job :)

it would be nice if moves start a bit earlier, maybe add more friction to the balls? (ideally add more friction as they become slower, maybe not realistic but would probably feel better)

also found a bug where you can win with blocks still on the playing field

Pretty good game! Combines two well known games into another one that works pretty well.

The only thing that I would really improve mechanics wise is making the balls stop rolling a bit quicker to let the player get back control a bit earlier instead of needing to wait awhile. The music also tends to be fairly repetitive which can get annoying.

Bugs wise I found a small bug if you win and get the white ball into a pocket at the same time. Both the level clear and the scratch text overlay on top of each other

A good foundation for a quality little physics sim with some nice difficulty progression in the puzzle design.

PROS:

  • Graphics and style are clean and everything reads well as it should.
  • It's super fun to see some of the chaos from having a lot of blue balls bouncing around the table and that also makes the game more forgiving if I slightly miss.
  • Overall design of the game is very straight-forward and easy to understand.

CRITIQUES:

  • Agree with increasing the friction of the balls just to let the physics play out sooner so that turns don't seem to drag as much.
  • I don't feel a ton of pressure on me to try and complete the puzzle and it could be interesting to see a limit to the number of shots I get to take to add that element of difficulty to the puzzle designs.
  • The pool stick rotation feels a little slow, which adds to the feeling of slow pacing on the game. It would help quality of life if you had a button combo for "fast rotation" to get the stick to about the spot I want it quicker and then a separate button combo for "fine rotation" that rotates at the current speed to help keep the player from over-rotating their shots when they don't mean to.

Fun little pool game, Nice twist on the Theme to break into breaking blocks.
I think having the player start a second "turn" faster, by letting the balls have higher friction/damping or a more forgiving sleep state would make the flow a bit better.
