Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
This is a left and right combat style game similar to games like Streets of Rage. The game should completable from start to finish.

WASD to move and JKL; to use your limbs. Space performs a dash and E will interact.

The story is basically about a government agency that find that something is coming from deep underground. They send you as the robot down to figure it out and put a stop to things.

There is no boss fight as we didn't have time for it but the ending can still be triggered.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You modify yourself with various items to carry out the task given to you.

Played for a while, I think I got what you are going for, and it is quite interesting indeed! Can't complete the game because the game keeps telling me not worthy of the final battle, despite I already cleared all rooms and gotten all the green gems. Not sure if that's a bug or not. There are also a few issues such as no explosion effects and missing third item cards, but I guess they are easy to fix. I would also suggest at least adding a name or even item descriptions to all those items, just to give some context or some instruction on what the player should do with.

Anyway, it's not bad at all. Good job!

Thanks for playing!

You are correct, you came across the dreaded bug I missed in the last hour of testing. One of the "challenge" rooms accessed by stairs ended up not setting a flag like it was suppose to which is required to launch the ending sequence of the game.

Thank you for the other feedback!

An interesting adventure to play! I really like the art, the environments, and how objects are represented on the player. At first, I noticed that my weapon was damaging me, but it wasn’t very clear in the UI. I’d love to see some feedback to better understand the damage range, but overall, it’s a great project. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing!

I had completely forgotten to go back and added an explosion effect on the rockets and grenades so it takes a moment to realize what is actually happening. I'm glad you enjoyed your time playing.

It's the kind of simple game I enjoy.
I had three minor gripes:

I wish the story was told in one go instead of having a small dialog,w alking, small dialog again etc

I wish we could swap out the part we didnt choose to test them out or pick the one you like.
It wasnt very clear how much health I had

A small bug: after I died, the weapons/parts i picked were not available anymore so I had to play without them or reset

Congrats on making the game, it was fun

Thanks for playing!

The original intention was that all the parts you didn't select would be given to the final boss of the game though we never got that guy implemented. The bug you ran into was only discovered after the deadline so I didn't get to fix it. I'm glad you enjoyed your time playing!

nades are op x> but for some reason it doesn't show a card for them..
one of the walls killed me for shooting at it too closely on my first run, on the second run upper right room was lazy and refused to spawn items for me, and i had started flying before entering all the chasm puzzles on the third run (i guess the game felt remorseful lol)
10 silly limbs out of 10 >:3

Thanks for playing!

Unfortunately I didn't realize there was  a bug with the game state not resetting on death so it thinks you still have completed everything you had on the previous run. I'm glad you were able to figure it out though :)

I think I could use the hook to dig but I used the hammer shot and it just killed me

Very atmospheric. It really makes you that "alien unknown" feeling. The gameplay could have more "imapctful" events, I feel like I'm doing to random places and doing random stuff.

Developer

I understand this feeling. I'm glad we nailed the atmosphere though!

The "chips" in each room were meant to give the item/weapon related to it some kind of power up.

Completed a few rooms but didn't know how to cross the big gaps in some rooms. Pretty good work tho!

Developer

Thanks for trying it out!

Which gaps were you having trouble with?

like the ones in one of  your screenshots. Looks like treestumps with ropes on them.

Developer

ahh yes. The lasso or hooks hot are used to bring you across. Just need to hit the posts on the otherside
