I like the idea here, not my type of game unfortunately but I did think the game would be fun for those who do.

As other have stated, stars can sometimes double spawn.

Only other criticisms I really have are

A) I think the disintegrating platforms should probably be a little more consistent. There were a couple of times where if I walked across a bridge of them, every other one would disintegrate.

B) Enemies maybe shouldn't be knocked back, at least as much. Made it kind of frustrating to grab the stars from enemies you placed on smaller platforms.

Oh boy was that music really grating in the factory. I also figured out that you could force two stars to spawn on a kill if you shot rapidly enough.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I also found out about the 2 star thing while developing, i couldnt fix it so i left it out to be a feature.. also NES music is kinda supposed to be graty :D

This felt like a very fluid and smooth NES game. I really loved the tileset you made for the deserted desert.

Thanks a bunch :D

Excellent visuals, and is very reminiscent of the NES. The box art is an appreciated touch. :)

I think some more creative gameplay/platforming mechanics are needed.

The disintegrating platforms were a good inclusion, for example.

I enjoyed playing this game, the Cover Art Work would definitely make me buy this game when I had a NES!!

The controls for walking seems smooth, I could only observe a double jump issue, specially when you're passing through platforms pressing Forward and then trying to double jump at the same time.

I feel the music is some sort of loop, just being repeated, when I do OST's, I always loop, but larger sections of my own music , I always tend to start/finish with Drumbeats so that makes the loop easier to do, also, to make it feel more vintage, I get a square wave generator for each song 'voice' (each channel) and customize it until it looks appropriate for each section (Drums, Harmony, Bass and Lead). Another thing I like to do is to keep adding voices on the song, until all are playing together, and then finish with just the drum beats.

Another thing I would like to flag is that the character damage is not evident, when you take damage, the heart counter goes down, but, the character doesn't get 'red' or even blink, but that's just a minor detail and you can fix it quickly after the voting period.
Anyways, these are just minor adjustments, I see a good game here!!!!

I like the look of it, very NES-y (love that you made a box-art too). The music is not quite as punchy as I'd like for the NES vibes though, and also the screen-shake when you hit an enemy feels too wavey and kind of ruins the old-school immersion for me.

I really like how distinct the three levels are visually, though I wish they were more distinct gameplay wise too. But overall its a pretty cool and good entry!

Thanks a bunch for the feedback!

Very beautiful artwork!

The characters are cute, the palette colors works good with your game and the level design os the stages are awsome.

I think the double jump has a little problem. In the "Deserted Desert", in the platforms, the second jump sometimes it work ssometimes it don't works. Maybe it's because i'm pressing the walking keys at the same time. It didn't bother me much because in the second third time, i was prepared.

Anyway, i see you put a lot o effort here (seriously, you put a lot of sprites and scenarios and it's so fkn awsome XD) and you realy make a master piece! I enjoy too much your game.

Congrats, friend! I have a lot of fun with your game! S2

I’ve liked the game, it made me feel the toddler I was the first time I’ve played something. I’ve found a bug. When the player push the enemy when it’s moving in the contray direction, it’s possible to clamp the enemy in the all or in an edge.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! I will look into the issue and fix it after the voting period! Thankkooo!

Really, really liking the graphics on this one. You nailed the NES-era look and feel, and the NES box art used for the cover image is awesome too. As an aside, I watched your YouTube video and I gotta say you got a few laughs out of me, so nice work on that front too. Keep it up man :)

Thank you sooo much! :D
