Title
In Front of the Temple
Description
I was inspired by the image for the adventure/temple/mystery aspect. For me, it takes place in a warm climate, so I used stringed instruments.
Despite the constraints, I wanted the music to be as structured as possible. So I created a theme that I used 4 times, each time with a different harmonization. To make things even more difficult, I didn't use modulation, and stayed in A minor for the whole piece.

Piano was a little sharp for my ears, but the rest of the mixing was fine for me (refering to cat's comment). Very interesting instrument choice, great usage of the diminished chord. Good job as always!
I really like the solution you found to a more structured theme
Amazing music, as usual, maybe the mixing could be juuuust a bit better, though I can't really judge for it, as my mixing is pretty bad.
Thanks 😊
No need to be an expert to judge!
Could you tell me what feels off about the mix for you ?
I might be wrong, but I'd try lowering the volume of the instruments that play the leads, especially the one that comes in at 0:13.
On replay, you're right, it would have deserved a few less decibels.
Nice melody, very cool theme consistency without actual chord repetition, very smoothly done. I just feel it is not finished, like I wish there was a resolution to all this in the end.
Thanks for the compliments. As for the feeling of non-resolution, that's on purpose. I didn't want to end with a perfect V-I cadence and I tend to end on a fifth degree because I like that feeling of suspension.
Really pleasing result in a short amount of time. Splendid.
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you like it. Now it's my turn to listen to your creation :)
You really like to challenge yourself, so many chords in such a short time, with the constraint of just being in one key and never repeat the progression. I'd say it was worth challenging yourself, because it's a beautiful track that can convey a variety of emotions in such a short time
Also, for untrained ears like mine, it was nice to see the chords on screen. Good idea, thank you for that
Thanks for the nice compliments.
And I don't have an ear trained enough to detect chord progressions just by listening.
I had noted the chords for keeping track of the progressions. It seemed like a good idea to display them in the video to follow along while listening. Glad you found it useful.
Fantastic stuff! Stylistically this is giving me pretty big FFXIV vibes
Thank you !
I haven't played FFXIV, but I heard that the ost has been critically acclaimed. So I'll take that as a nice compliment.
This was really beautiful! Transporting as well, I love the choice of instruments with the scene! Well done!
Thank you very much.
I will take the time to listen to your composition and comment as well.
