The footsteps were starting to give me a headache. I feel making them much quieter or even off might have been better. I kept accidentally walking into the spider. I feel this was mainly because 1) it didn't make a lot of sound and 2) the movement was a bit jank.
The art is cool, the map is cool. The flashlight felt nice; whenever it wasn't clipping through the walls. The ambient sound help to set the mood nicely.
Overall a neat little the game.
As others have already mentioned, the sound of footsteps is too monotonous and loud, the character is a bit too slow, and well, the text appears too slowly too. The background music is nice and adds to the atmosphere, as does the lighting. Iโm not sure if there is a monster in the game, I walked around the map for a few minutes but didnโt encounter any.
Hi there!
Yeah the footsteps and slow movementhave been fixed in the newest release, waiting for the votin periode to be over. Please check back when i get to update it!
Now regarding the monster, it is there, but it is entirely possible that it simply navigated to some random location far away. it also has a nice surprise in the full version ๐
Loved the premise and the visuals - the locker glowring green in the darkness and hte movement of the space squid thing.
Had the turn the sound down because of the footstep noisesand couldn't figure out how to run
Looks really kewl, but I can't play it on browser. Its too laggy for me.
I had two grey rectangles over my screen while playing - not sure if that's intentional. Otherwise, it could be a cool concept once expanded, but perhaps the text could be a little quicker.
I feel like this game have a lot of potential so will wait for full game!
What about walking sound - it's a little bit uncomfortable :(
Lighting effects like this are really fun and they indeed create good mood for horror. Added with the maze like level design it was kinda fun to explore the game. The music is good for the vibe too and walking steps added to the empty atmosphere. Running steps on the other hand were starting to get to me after awhile. So on the sound design I would have made the step-sounds little more quiet.
Overall, time limit is a curse, but even in the short time you got a nice prototype done. Few bugs and alike are understandable at this point (like the wall collision and text flickering) should also be simple to fix, but I like the combo of space-horror with limited field of view/light mechanics. I think my only major gripe of the game is that the text was too slow for me heh, but regardless good work ^^
