Nice! The Barnster is all barned up!

Submitted

I can't play it, the game doesn't load.  Is there a download version?

Developer

yes there is, but it is on github as of yet. I will upload the new version after the voting periode is over :)

Submitted

I was unable to play it sadly, the movement felt odd but workable. The text I believe is overwriting itself as it goes. This could be good, buts its hard to play atm.

Developer

Yeah that is fixed in the new version, hoping you check it out when i upload it!

Submitted

Nice! I will then.

The footsteps were starting to give me a headache. I feel making them much quieter or even off might have been better. I kept accidentally walking into the spider. I feel this was mainly because 1) it didn't make a lot of sound and 2) the movement was a bit jank.

The art is cool, the map is cool. The flashlight felt nice; whenever it wasn't clipping through the walls. The ambient sound help to set the mood nicely.

Overall a neat little the game.

Submitted

nice visuals, i felt like the player speed was a bit slow

Developer

Thanks!

Yeah the player speed is bugged in this version unfortiunately,

Submitted

As others have already mentioned, the sound of footsteps is too monotonous and loud, the character is a bit too slow, and well, the text appears too slowly too. The background music is nice and adds to the atmosphere, as does the lighting. Iโ€™m not sure if there is a monster in the game, I walked around the map for a few minutes but didnโ€™t encounter any.

Developer

Hi there!
Yeah the footsteps and slow movementhave been fixed in the newest release, waiting for the votin periode to be over. Please check back when i get to update it!
Now regarding the monster, it is there, but it is entirely possible that it simply navigated to some random location far away. it also has a nice surprise in the full version ๐Ÿ˜

Loved the premise and the visuals - the locker glowring green in the darkness and hte movement of the space squid thing.

Had the turn the sound down because of the footstep noisesand couldn't figure out how to run

Developer(+1)

Yeah the running is bugged in this version, (rigidbody drag was set too high vs the force applied to the player it seemed.) walkign sound is also tweaked :)

Please check back when the votin is over!

I liked the game. The footstep sounds were making me crazy though.

Developer

yeah sorry about that. That has been tweaked!

Submitted

Looks really kewl, but I can't play it on browser. Its too laggy for me.

Developer

That is strange, what browser do you use?

Submitted

no its me, I'm not able to play anyone's browser game . :/ darn

Developer

Well if you want to you can check the github link and download the newest version :p

I had two grey rectangles over my screen while playing - not sure if that's intentional. Otherwise, it could be a cool concept once expanded, but perhaps the text could be a little quicker.

Developer

Hi, yeah both of those issues have been resolved, and will upload the full version after the voting period to keep it fair :) I have also finished the game loop, so please check back later to try and survive to the end!

Submitted

Would be interesting to see a future build of this!

Developer(+1)

Then i hope you will return and take a look when i upload the full version after the voting period!

Submitted

Will do my friend, glad you're expanding this :)

Submitted(+1)

I feel like this game have a lot of potential  so will wait for full game!
What about walking  sound - it's a little bit uncomfortable :(

Developer(+2)

Thanks!

The walking and running sound has been tweked, and the game has been finished. But as I did not make it in the time limit i dont feel like updating the game on the page until after the voting, so please check back after the voting for the full version!

Submitted

Really nice sound design overall, and I loved the core concept and "hiding" mechanics!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Hope you will check out the (more or less) finished game after the voting periode!

Sucks that you did not have the time to finish it..  It looks like this would have been a great game. Still great though.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, i did not really need that much more time and i have a more or less full version of the game ready to update, but as i did not make it until after the time limit i wont update until next week, after the voting is finished :)

Submitted

Cool, can't wait to play it.

Lighting effects like this are really fun and they indeed create good mood for horror. Added with the maze like level design it was kinda fun to explore the game. The music is good for the vibe too and walking steps added to the empty atmosphere. Running steps on the other hand were starting to get to me after awhile. So on the sound design I would have made the step-sounds little more quiet.

Overall, time limit is a curse, but even in the short time you got a nice prototype done. Few bugs and alike are understandable at this point (like the wall collision and text flickering) should also be simple to fix, but I like the combo of space-horror with limited field of view/light mechanics. I think my only major gripe of the game is that the text was too slow for me heh, but regardless good work ^^
