Cool idea, but the gameplay and the animations could have been better.

thank you for playing my game!
Nice art-style, great atmosphere and interesting mechanic, good job!
thank you for playing my game!
Nice atmosphere, interesting choice of interaction mechanic, and I like the core idea.
That being said, I got stuck too, sadly. What should happen after the screaming mirror/painting?
SPOILER ALERT? SPOILER ALERT!

look to the Paint until the border became red, It unlock the righr door
Thanks! I will retry it :)
Cool idea, I liked the inspect mechanic it has a lot of potential. Inspecting that painting almost made me deaf lol, I think the SFX are playing every frame and it makes a very unpleasant sound.
Sorry about the sound bug. I'll fix it after the jam is over. Thank you for playing!
Inspect mechanic in 2D game is something new to me, like it!
But I can't figure out what to do after finding a key.
Examine the key, go down the stairs, positioning the character until the yellow down arrow appears, and press the same key on the keyboard
I really didn't think inspecting that painting would cause that, what's behind that door with the black particles coming out? fun game, I like the inspect mechanic.
Thanks for playing! And thanks for the feedback! We'll only know what's behind the door if I keep developing the game :-)
Are you question from the door on the first floor or the second floor? On the first floor you can find out by advancing through the levels of this build.
the door on the first floor, it also had like a wood chopping sound when I got close. I couldn't get any further, I probably missed what I needed to go forward,
SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!

check the door where the sound comes from by touching it. will unlock the door on the top right
Fun concept, the ghost's voice was amazing. Took me a minute to figure everything out.
Thanks for playing! And thanks for the feedback! Glad you understood! I hope you've finished the game.
Honestly really good stuff, perfect capture of what game jams are for, fully playable game and the voice ghost was just perfect to top it off
Thanks for playing! And thanks for the feedback! I will improve with the reviews received! That's the frightening spirit
Got to the end, overall I liked the simple art style as it was consistent throughout, the lighting was definitely the bit I liked most, overall good theme. Jump scares were also good.
Downsides:
I couldn't stop laughing at the ghost Wahaha - 10/10 voice acting.
Thanks for playing! And thank you for this important feedback! I will improve with the reviews received! This is the encouragement I need to continue developing the game! I feel great knowing that the game entertained you!
cool !
Thank you!
When I inspected one of the paintings it played a deafening scream sound effect repeatedly very fast to the point it sounded like a windows crash. I also had a hard time figuring out what to do and where to go. Despite that, I still liked it and thought it was fun 馃憤
Thanks for playing! I didn't have time to fix this door sound bug when examining the board! I'll get better with the reviews and feedback! This is the encouragement I need to continue developing the game!
You're doing an amazing job! 馃槃
Fun
Thank you!
As a fellow GDevelop user I must say, this is very well made!
Even though it took me a minute to figure out what to do.
I hope you will continue to work on this in the future!
Thank you! This encouragement I need to continue developing the game!
Anytime. I hope to see more of your works in the future!
Had some trouble finding the key like the others but I like the style of the game, would love to see more of it!
Thank you! I'll get better with the reviews and feedback! This is the encouragement I need to continue developing the game!
There are some interesting ideas here! I like the idea of a first-person examination mechanic in a 2D side-scrolling world. Unfortunately it is pretty unclear what to do/where to go in the game. I eventually found the key and went down the stairs after reading your note, but I never would have noticed that on my own. I'd recommend changing the key's color to make it a little easier to see. But after I found the other hallways, I couldn't figure out what to do next. I'd recommend adding some more player feedback and signposting to communicate what might be an important thing to look at. Overall, this is a nice start, keep working on it!
The examine mechanic was really cool and well executed! Even after reading your comment and the tip in the description I still couldn't get down the stairs. Not sure what I'm doing wrong :/
You can leave the cell with the key that is on the floor, examine until it is highlighted. To go down stairs, move to the position that shows the down arrows and press down key in your keyboard
The atmosphere and examine mechanic were cool!
The art style was pretty nice as well.
Couldn't make it down the stairs to continue though. :(
You can leave the cell with the key that is on the floor, examine until it is highlighted. To go up and down stairs, move to the position that shows the up and down arrows.
I couldn't even make it down the stairs for some reason. Maybe I didn't catch something important, but I tried for 10 minutes. :( But this examine mechanic is really intresting!
Examine the cell until you find the key, it will highlight. Then try to go down the trapdoor when it shows the yellow arrow.
Thank you for playing my game!
