Really nice self contained horror game. Will not mind to play more with different levels.

- The game excellently uses its mechanics to encourage a sort of environmental awareness on the part of the player. I like how the two distinct time states create a great sense of anticipation and tension, and give the player time to understand the layout and core mechanics.

Very cool game! Would've loved a map or maybe even something like a limited number of collectable markers you can pick up during those first 2 minutes that you can place in front of hallways that you've already been down. I know obviously part of the game is this feeling that your stuck in this winding maze so it's more than fair to disregard this suggestion entirely lmao.
This is one of the games that actually made me the most afraid while playing it. Very sense. Very good atmosphere. Very good sound design. Visually it looks awesome too! Also that font fits perfectly. Picking the right font is a small thing but adds so much to a game imo and you nailed it.
Hey ChaosKid!
Really well put together and succinct game! Congrats :D
Some notes after playing:
- I definitely ran into points where I was able to just book it past monsters and get away from them. Once I realized I could do this the tension kind of fell off. Not a huge deal, but it definitely made them less threatening.
What I liked:
- I really enjoyed the design of the monsters and also the blood curdling scream they had once they realized you were nearby. Freaked me out the first time I heard it!
- I enjoy that the premise and goals are so straightforward -- it really got me straight into the heart of the action and right into being stressed out as I ran around trying to collect flashes and figure out where the containment zones were.
- Being stuck at the terminals and not knowing what was behind you was super stressful. I just kept saying "hurry up, hurry upppppp" then I was back to crab walking around the facility looking for the next terminal
This was surprisingly well put together and legitimately scared me at one point when one snuck up behind me. I was a little confused about the concept at the beginning, and didn't understand that I could collect the flashes. Thankfully I managed to solid snake my way around at the end and finished in about ten minutes. Really nice work!
Pretty cool idea the 2 first minutes help build tension and made me wonder what was going to happen. I tried running to a monster to flash him for fun and he ran away from me haha I didn't expect that!
One thing to improve: Since I don't use a QWERTY layout it's was hard to play and the arrow keys didn't work.
Since you use Godot what you can do is use physical keys and boom! Done ^^
The sound design is pretty well done and I didn't expect several types of monsters so that's also a + .
It was fun!
The tension is thick enough to slice with a knife. Simple yet effective. The monster's design was very spooky at first, then became slightly amusing after getting acquainted with it after spending so much time in the dungeon, then quickly became horrifying again when I took a couple running steps. Awesome game!
Quality work, holy hell. I really like the idea, 2 minutes of mercy give fun spin on the maze-monser concept. Like 2 minutes is not enough to explore everything, but it can give you good sense of size and some hints to where to go too. Monster design was absolutely fun as well! I loved how horrific it felt to have to stand there when one of them walks into you attempting to walk past you, small details in their step and sounds really made it. Also the way they run towards a noise, banger horror.
Absolutely one of my favorites this jam.
Wow, this one genuinely scared me! It's super tense when the lights go off. Really fun concept, and great use of sound. Nice work!
I really like the idea of being forced to look at something for a bit and not knowing what's happening behind you. Got to say though, in my opinion, the sound design was the best part of this game. It's not constantly setting the atmosphere so you get more relaxed than usual then you get rekt.
It was kind of hard to see what was going on though
Woah this is insane. The tension is real and it took me a while to beat. Really dig how a terminal will beep and lure the monsters in I didn't expect that haha. The game may be too harsh if you lose your bearings even once but very rewarding when you kinda grasp and remember where you need to go.
The mouse didn't work quite as intented on the webgl version but I downloaded the game and enjoyed it!
Got me scared, would like to see better step sound and environmental design
Really nice game especially for a jam, i managed two of the three objectives but can't handle any more scares to try again!
I was genuinely scared while playing the game, really cool art style and sound design, good job
So simple so fun. The the minute lights gave a good spice to it. Nice visuals and audio, the antagonists were cool. I think it would be really hard, if I couldn't leave next to the monsters, but with this it's a bit too easy. The pathfinding for them could be a bit more precisie. Nice entry, well executed. GG!
