Beautiful art, nice exploration of a simple mechanic. The progression in difficulty felt right. I kind of wished the "green light objects" you can hide behind were more obvious (like maybe more brightly lit to set them apart from the rest of the scenery), but I figured it out quickly enough. Overall very cool and polished for a short game jam. Nice!
Overall quite nice. None of the obstacles were too hard, but they still left the player with a sense of tension. The pixel art looks very clean overall, and the sound contributes to the atmosphere as well. The level also wasn't too long, so all in all, it was an enjoyable short sidescroller.
Side-scrollers will always continue to engage. Great team effort, fun plot device, runs really well!
Really good mood ! And while the game is simple but quite effective, it has beautiful visual and a great sound design. Plus the first cutscene is increadible !
The gameplay reminded me of Oddworld and I absolutely loved every second of it, I miss those kind of puzzle solving/timing sidescrollers. Very nostalgic and super fun, I hope you'll make more! I expected a "boss fight" at the final fence.
Absolutely loved the detailed pixel art and sinister vibes of this one! the 2D stealth platforming reminded my of cinematic platformers like Limbo, Inside, and Planet of Lana. I would love to see this expanded upon with some more mechanics to make the player experience feel a little more active. As it is, there is a bit too much waiting in hiding spots for long stretches of time until just the right moment to leave. But I'm sure you could make that a more active, engaging experience with a little more iteration. Overall, great work!
that intro was incredible! I really liked the backgrounds of the level too!
Hey Mistrust Team!
Absolutely fantastic entry into the Jam! I enjoyed every second of my experience and was definitely sucked into the world you all created.
A couple notes after playing:
What I liked:
Absolutely continue this project because you guys have really hit on something interesting and unique that could do extremely well if you continue expanding it and list it on steam or something :D 100% dropping y'all a follow.
Thank you for the quality feedback!
Hello, thanks for your well written constructive comment! The level design part definitely needs a lot more adjustments!
First off, let's be honest:
The level was built very fast at the last minute and the hiding mechanic (A core one) was implemented in the last 24 hours so it was pretty... Chaotic! ^^ In addition to that I'd say it lacks technical review (had to finish quickly instead!) and playtesting. But at least the game kinda works, it's there haha!
With that being said now:
Also, there is no checkpoint! All of that is definitely not casual friendly.
Also glad you enjoyed the art direction! Thanks for your time! :)
Absolutely gorgeous pixel art and comic book style panels. The first cutscene is really wonderful, Junji Ito feelings off the charts, almost feels like it goes by too fast. The background music is well done and fits the vibes its going for. The hiding mechanic was neat (reminded me of Yomawari) but also the placement of the bushes and enemies felt a little too game-y and unforgiving, like with enemies cycling a path of a bush, or the timing needed to climb up and down a ladder. I really liked this but also found the gameplay to feel... slightly not fun, I guess? The game was definitely impacting me with its feelings, and the gameplay made me nostalgic for old PC sidescrollers, but at the same time movement and exploration felt very scripted, I think it was mostly due to the enemy placement. All together, phenomenal work though!
Weβre glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing <3
Hello, thanks for your comment!
Your feedback was been taken into account. The level design and the controls need a lot of work for sure!
I can't add much more than anyone else already said, the art is amazing and the tutorialesc level that follows is very good executed.
Easily among the top contenders.
Thanks a lot for you comment! :)
This game looks so good. The art is amazing and I really like the intro cutscene. And the main stealth gameplay is also really fun.
I was actually going to make a really similar game like this. At the begining of the jam I was going to make a game about Capgras syndrom (Its where you think everyone around you has been replaced by clones or robots). But eventually I didn't.
My only feedback would be that the movement feels a bit wonky sometimes, with the player stopping mid run and stuff like that. But It was still a really fun and cool looking game to play.
great game, keep it upβ₯
What if the character has this syndrom? ... :P
What exactly feels wonky? Do you mean you expected some deceleration when releasing the key to run?
We're also aware of some animations being still played when the player is supposed to stop and stuff like that, we had many issues like this.
Other than that glad you liked the game overall!
Just sometimes the player would go into a full stop like you ran into a wall and you would have to press the direction key again to continue moving, but this might just be webGL doing weird webGL stuff.
Didn't encounter this problem ourselves as far as I know but will look into it, thanks!
I didn't realize there is a syndrome for that idea. Interesting.
That's my fault about the player movement. I tried my best, but I didn't have a lot of time to make a well organized state machine.
I appreciate the feedback!
The intro art and sounds are amazing. Nice tutorial after. The game is beatifully done.
Thank you, Julien! <3

The panels in the very begining were insanely amazing! I really dig into how the animation was done to tell the story through them. I wanted to know what happened after and what world she lives in. Really a good concept there. Sound design set up the mood for it. Got little scares everytime I died and the drone sounds really set up the tension. Level design was very good to learn the mechanics but the flow was a bit slower at the begining. I only pick up the flow when I realize I could follow the enemies to dinamize my path.
Thank you very much, we appreciate it! <3
Thanks for your comment! If you have an idea how we can tweak the flow to make it more smooth in the beginning that'd be much appreciated! Otherwise we'll see what we can do!
Amazing art style, super impressive stuff.
A major contender for the win! Good job everybody :)
It's simple, but I think the basis for something really great is here, both gameplay and story-wise. Wonderful graphics as well!
Fun! I loved that intro comic, helps set the mood and really adds some menace to the robot enemies (if that's what they are...)
Wow, absolutely great aesthetically, the intro sequence was super strong and the transitions between the panels were absolutely well done.
An amazing submission!
thank you for playing! <3
Oh I adore the look in this! Like the parallax backgrounds, the light effects and the pixel art just goes perfectly together here. I mean I was already taken by the beginning cutscene, but the rest kept up nicely. Love it.
Not to diminish other aspects of the game too. The controls are smooth and nice, the atmosphere was really fitting and the story setup in the cutscene was well executed, genuinely good body horror is always a plus! I played the web version, so if the downloadable is longer do tell, but I really hope you continue developing this further ^^ The game play loop is good and with some twist and variations you could continue the sneak mechanics a long way. Also the story was intriguing of course.
But nevertheless, great work! :D
Thanks for your comment! :)
Glad you enjoyed it! The Windows version is not available since a display problem was detected when we tested it for some reason.
The desktop builds have exactly the same content as the web version but they are probably more optimized in terms of performance.
Since some content couldn't be put in the game I think we might at least add it!
Love the graphics and sounds, The backstory was fun as well, really nice game
We're glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! <3
