You got me with one of the jumpscares hahaha that was a good one, maybe have the door open the other way around cuz when I was trying to leave I kinda clipped the walls and ended up in the roof for some reason. But overall, I really liked the storytelling, good work on those cinematics!
I will definitely fix that
Fun entry with a neat visual style, and aliens. It felt paced well but a little quirky to play. I enjoyed the lighting and the usage of green throughout the game.
I think I bugged it out a little. At one point I got caught behind the door when I opened it and I gained the ability to float. Also I seemed to have grab the soda again after closing the door and it tells me my objective is to go sit on the couch again forever, still managed to get the good ending though :)
Quirky game, i liked the voice on the tv and the situation made it scary! Though i think the alien could have acted in a more "scary way" if that makes sense.
I could not get past the intro. It said I needed to hide under the bed but wouldn’t let me.
Apart from that, love the concept. I really dig close encounter-related horrors and I would love to come back to play a more polished product soon.
I will fix that in the next update. I will be redesigning that part of the game too.
Look forward to playing the next patch :)
Why is the idea so good? The lighting and the overall idea was too good. Gave it a five star rating would be great if you did the same :)
The idea is nice as some of the design element like the U.F.O. I did not see the alien as I got lost outside in a maze of invisible colliders outside the house. I would love to play a polished version of the game.
Overall I think the idea could be interesting--being out in the middle of nowhere when the existence of aliens is confirmed, unsure whether that means you're safe or more precarious, to then have that answered completely: there is no escape from the aliens. I can imagine being badgered by the aliens could be a whole thing, the knocking on the door and walking across the window are the start on that idea.
Unfortunately there were some elements that bugged me a noticable amount: the beginning scrawl introducing the game included something like a 10 second delay in between each message, leading to a lot of waiting (having music on at the same time might help with that, if that's intentional); The static on the TV was quite loud; I get a little lost for a sec when I went outside to look at the UFO, went back inside, then outside again to see if I needed to trigger something, to then go back inside and _then_ be able to continue; the writing of the main character is noticably placeholder and dry. Nothing that a little polish couldn't address, it is a demo after all.
I think there's a lot of room for improvement, but with a creative eye I could see this taken somewhere interesting.
Thanks for your efforts.
Thanks for this! I will take them to heart in my next update. I will be improving more stuff in the next update.
Cool stuff! Really liked the lighting when the saucer was overhead.
If you're looking to squash bugs, the first time I played I got softlocked outside when I closed the door after looking at the saucer, and I couldn't get it to open again. Also, the first time the alien ran past the window, he was sideways; not sure if that was intentional or not.
Nevertheless, good work! It seems like you're planning on fleshing this out more; I'm excited to see what you make. Keep it up!
Thanks! I am uploading another update as we speak to fix the locked out of house. The alien crawls on the side of the house like a spider.
Awesome!
This was quite a unique idea to the theme, and I like it! The design of the cabin and alien give old PS1 game vibes, which ranks them highly in my books.
However, I'm unsure if it was because of a bug or if this was meant to be, but the alien moved at quite the slow pace. It was less scary and more confusing as this 7ft green giant catwalked across my living room to mew at me. I played it again, thinking that the goal may be to attempt an escape, so the second playthrough I had made it to the exit. However, I was unable to leave the house (which I believe was intentional.)
*I also found a bug where I could climb onto the furniture and walk off of them, but gravity isn't enabled which meant I could essentially float.*
Overall, the game had a really nice aesthetic, a great concept and was pretty interesting to say the least. A nice short experience to enjoy!
Hey! Thanks for playing! I am updaing the game today in a new update to have a faster alien and more stuff, like exploring the outside.
That sounds amazing, I'll be sure to come check it out again!
I was in fact... not able to survive. I think there is a wrong texture applied to windows and the obviously the walls had a gap in it but this a a nice little experience.
Thanks for playing! I will make sure to fix that gap in the next update. I am working on adding more stuff.
Great to hear. keep up the good work.
