Love the comedy and the horror of this! The little screech the monster makes after he sits down sent me. Engaging premise; loved babysitting/poisoning this little dude, good work!
Oh man, I love the monster design and attitude, 10/10 would definitely keep it happy if it'd come to my house :,)
Really enjoyed the game, great work!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed my funky dude :]
This rules. As others have said, there's something very funny and unique about the horror premise of attending to the needs of a demon that has set up on your couch and is keen on watching television, and the animations were a highlight! The design is well done and covers all of the mechanics of a good point-and-click adventure. I feel like any decent adventure game needs something a little messed up and making a poison from bad food in the fridge is definitely up there. As others have noted, for constructive criticism finding ways to checkpoint and add restarts and also think about intuitive ways to signal actions such as changing rooms or interactable objects can help a lot.
Thanks for being a part of the Scream TV jam!

Thanks Ryan! I learned a lot from this game jam, already excited for the next one :]
That was cool.. The simple animations are really nice. Gave it a five star rating would be great if you did the same :)
Fun and funny premise. Monster seems like he has a pretty short attention span. I enjoyed the simple animations and the frames for the TV shows made me laugh. My monster never wanted to watch the passion of the christ. I got an error when trying to pick up the bowl so wasn't able to complete it, but this made me smile :)
Thanks hankworx. Sorry you got that error, but glad you enjoyed the goofy spooky red guy :]
That was cool, love how simple the animation and design was but you were still able to give a personality to the creature. I coudn't make any kind of food for the guy, for some reason when I tried to pick up the container or the bowl nothing would happen.
Thanks for playing sollambert. Sorry the food bugged out, I thought I tested that pretty thoroughly but I guess that's just the nature of the gamejam sometime.
I like that the monster was just a dude that comes over to chill on your coach and watch TV together. Fun game.
Watching ominously lit wells and a garbage field channel with the bro. 8]
I loved how the monster makes an entrance haha I had a hard time staying alive and I found the controls a bit confusing at times, but had a great time playing!
Thanks Amaakir, glad you enjoyed the game.
I definitely chose the point and click adventure style out of a need for simplicity--creating invisible buttons to load and unload scenes made creating the home a lot easier, but I do think it came at the cost of interactivity. Next time I try something like this, I might use keyboard inputs instead, and have intractable elements tied to different buttons, at least for one idea.
Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed the game :]
This was really fun! The central idea of a monster just showing up and sitting down to watch TV was actually hilarious. The only thing I think the game really needed was a bit of direction, I was kind of just guessing and clicking on random things until I made the food. Great job!
Thanks Cyrus, I'm glad you enjoyed!
You're definitely right about the direction. If you can believe it, an earlier version didn't have the tutorial, and I was going to add even more interactable elements, both which would have made reaching the end all that much harder. I'm glad I didn't go that far, but I could see adding even just a couple comments from the main character about what to interact with, or having ideas. Another idea was to have a chat on the PC, where you'd frantically ask a friend for help, and they'd give you hints or ideas, but I ran out of time.
Anyway, thanks again.
I guess I failed to feed the creature in time and died. I went to restart and all the interaction prompts were still visible which made replaying very difficult.
Hey James, thanks for trying. I definitely didn't consider how I'd reset everything on death until later in the jam, and while I tried, my solutions could only be half baked, leading to cases like that. I either should have made that a priority early on, or else it might have been better to just close the game--that way you'd have to re-open the game, so those artifacts from the previous session wouldn't linger and muck things up.
I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, even if I couldn't service a good experience for you.
I LOVE IT! Love the design, the animation on the monster, and the game mechanic around the TV. Huge fan, would love to see more of your work. Keep it up!
Thanks Nash, I appreciate your enthusiasm! This was the first time I've animated anything, but selling the monster made it all worth it.
