Wow, just wow! What an amazing story! I really loved the differing art styles and the personality of the mirror being!
Aww thank you very much <3<3 I am glad you liked it!
Oh my stars, this is such a fun and creative story! I loved the varied mixture of art styles, the cheeky, high-concept premise, the shifting music, and the clean execution of the storyline. Very well done, team, and thank you for a fun and delightful game!
Aw, you’re so kind! Thank you. I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
This is a really great game! I love the artstyle, it really sets the mood, and i love how the characters show inside the orbs in the realm, it made for a really funny moment when i saw the mouse, thought it was a fun easter egg, and then realized he was actually a character. Really polished experience!
Thank you so much! We started with the orbs being blank but then played with it more as time went on to what it is now. You’re an icon, thanks for playing!
This was a nice story, felt quite easy to read and enjoy. An issue i encountered was when setting the game to fullscreen, my cursor dissapeared and had to constantly alt tab until i could get to the windowed option again. The handles for the sliders are not transparent so they look a bit weird hiding part of the slider bar. The music was also very loud, might want to lower the default levels a bit. I found the fact that the characters all looked wildly different odd at first but after learning more of the world it made sense. The artstyle overall was very unique and works quite well for this story. The characters are very static though, only swapping a few poses but nothing else happening in the scene. I also liked the between place filling with the faces as you went between areas, nice little touch. The ambience and music really fit well to it, was really well done!
Overall a nice game, good work!
Oh, thank you for letting us know! This was our first time using Ren'Py so I'm sure there is a bunch of stuff we messed up. We will try to look into it! Thanks <3 Also, I agree the art is a bit static. I was the only artist and also had other roles so that's what we were able to achieve for the jam. What are you gonna do! We would love to add some movement and more character sprites after resting a bit, tho :) Thanks for playing!
That dastardly mouse's thirst for power and dominion is pretty insatiable! I like how he was straight up just a thug, like a villain with no inner turmoil or sad backstory. He just want the power. This was a fun and silly romp of a VN, with dialogue flowing easily, nice music playing in the background (not too distracting which is a thing I see in too many VNs), and really pretty art (also extra kudos to the artist for drawing alllll those coins). Fun VN!
Thank you so much for playing! So, I kinda see that character as just a straight-up narcissist, which is kinda hinted at in one of the endings that you may or may not have seen. He's only in it for himself, which was heartily influenced by that lawsuit that was announced in the last few months where Disney tried to withhold paying for wrongful death due to a Disney + subscription from years before. I did not have a positive view of that.
Sorry, I saw your comment a few days ago and meant to respond but I've been busy with work. Thank you again for your kind words.
No worries! Ah I heard about that lawsuit. The messaging about that behemoth was definitely not lost on me in the VN, lol.
You're an incredible storyteller, and the interface is stunning! The visuals immediately draw me in – I love this style of art. The subtle changes you make to create movement in the still frames really bring it to life. I can't praise it enough! The music choice is spot-on, especially the opening theme, which had this chill vibe that made it feel like something bigger is always unfolding – a perfect hook. I also love the artistic direction you've taken. The backgrounds, in particular, reminded me of Disney's flat-concept art style in Hercules—they feel rich and vibrant, never empty or dull, which is something I often notice in background art such as my own. The story's concept idea about imagination is always something I'm drawn to.
Thank you for playing and for your kind words <3 We did check different animation movies as references for the style we wanted, and it's really nice to hear that we achieved that vibe :)
Hey, thank you so much! It’s the first real fiction story I’ve written and published, so I really appreciate the kind words. It means so much.
You're welcome! Then you must have been an ace in English or writing classes! It feels as if you have wrote a short novel before—it's great!
A really compelling premise, with cool way of interweaving the story and the world! The art is also really gorgeous, with the patchwork / collage elements working really well with the sprites of the non-human characters. Felt very accurate to a certain mouse as well.
Unfortunately I got a crash! Line 1226 - "Through my travels collecting all the pieces, I'd become very familiar with how everyone faired in the present" gives an error of " '/i' closes a text tag that isn't open. " I don't use renpy, but it sounds pretty fixable - thought you should know!
Great job, and congrats!!
Oh no D: thanks for letting us know! It seems like we missed some italic codes. We are far from being experts in Ren'Py since it was our first time working with it, so we don't really know why it didn't crash in the many tests we did :( hopefully it is fixed now. Again, thanks for letting us know, and for your kind feedback too!
