Interesting approach with mixing 2D and 3D. Great idea for the game, I'm sure the final piece would be real good and unique. The game stands out, well done!

Was a really nice take on the brief and I really enjoyed the fluidity of the transition between 2D and 3D platformer so well done.

There seemed to be a whit box that remained at the bottom of my screen as I played and made things slightly confusing at times. Also I couldn't get past the bridge when you first learn to switch between 2D and 3D as my character was unable to get up onto the bridge either by walking or jumping.

Really sorry to hear about your development disaster. Would love to see what the final product was going to be. Nice work on what you uploaded though.

Loved the 2D/3D aspect of the game, found it could have some very interesting potential and good level design, but sometimes found that when the camera would automatically convert back to 2D from 3D it would sometimes change the position that the character was standing in, making a particular part inaccessible. But otherwise solid idea and good execution

Very interesting submission, I appreciate that you've explained that you were unable to upload the entire piece that your team had worked on. In which case I can't say much beyond the bug you seem aware of. I'd be very interested in how this idea could develop though.

Such a cool idea and what you've put together is really impressive - well done! :D

A extremely unique take on the genre, a very nice attempt at really standing out from the crowd. I think that there is a relatively unexplored niche with this sort of play, outside of games like Fez etc.

I won't critique your game as I normally have with the others, as the version I've seen isn't complete according to the comment from the Developer. But what I will stress is the importance of Source Control, using your case as an example. I've told others that for short term games, cloud backups are entirely viable since they will not be expansive and sizable projects. However, not having anything is a tremendously risky move. Everyone in the team needs to have various versions, and the whole team should take responsibility not just one person.

It is a shame that the work was lost, because this is a really interesting take on the genre. Hold on to this idea, cause there is something publishable here. If you want a more game design-y discussion of your game, come find me before or after the lecture on Monday.

Hey! One of the developers here. We definitely learned our lesson  the hard way, and this is in no way  the responsibility of Dan  only here. I'll see you after the lecture; would really love to discuss this!

An interesting premise with great graphics, rigid controls, and a unique gameplay element. It does feel as if it is missing some classical platformer tropes, such as enemies and destructable bricks, but the fact that I realized that after playing it means that it would not be integral to this game's success. Congrats on making a good game, just a bit of polish and juicing to make it feel extra special!

Wow, this is seriously impressive for a game made in a week! There's a lot of potential here but it seems like from your comment you knew how where you were taking this concept further. I love the meta item 3d glasses, and the art style is really charming.

I did find that a few of the yellow platforms later in the level wouldn't support the player in 2d mode, maybe missing the 2d colliders? The time limit for the 3d mode felt like more of an inconvenience than a game mechanic but you may have had more planned for it.

I'm really impressed with this, great work! And good for you for getting something together to upload even if it wasn't all you wanted it to be, it's still a very solid game.

An overall fun and enjoyable game, I especially loved the feature ,which I won't spoil for people who haven't played it. The feature made this game unique and verry fun to play and different to other platformers, Any critiques I had with the game have all been addressed in the comments and some important lessons learned. Good game by a great team, i'd love to see this updated in the furture and get it back to where it was.

Did not see that coming, liked the game idea and the overall designs, one thing that stood out to me was having to press 2 which changed the way you would look which really surprised me, I liked the idea of collecting the coins as well, I respect that you were also able to put a post below saying about an original game and problems that occurred as I was going to say about sound but you were still able to explain the situation to us all, I can see a lot of hard work was still put into this though and I still enjoyed the game even before seeing your comment. Great work! and if the game gets developed further would love to see it with sound!

A couple of things before some of you plow ahead with this (promise I'm not making excuses, just owning up to genuine mistakes)

The original game for this was a lot more fleshed out. Everyone on the team came together to give me some really great stuff to work with. For some reason I appear to be a human EMP, and at about 1am this morning when I was wrapping up development disaster struck, and I lost access to all of my files on my laptop. I've spent the past 6 hours cobbling together what I could as fast as I could to demonstrate the proof of concept our team came up with, but ultimately this isn't a very fleshed out game, and lacks enemies, sound, and the level designs the rest of the team worked hard on.

There's a lesson to be learned here about using source control and backing things up - I lost about 6 hours straight worth of development on this because I was very silly and had the mentality of "it's never happened to me before, why would it happen now" - use. source. control. please. don't. do. a. dan.

I'm very sorry to my team for not being more responsible with this, it's a lesson learned for me for future weeks.

You'll undoubtedly find bugs in here, particularly when it comes to detection of being behind walls in a 2d space and death detection. if you'd like to point out any bugs I'd be more than grateful.

Don't worry about it Dan, this stuff happens unfortunately but you've done the team proud and managed to get the game uploaded which is fine!
