Theme

Pinball City

Correlation to theme
An energetic composition, that evokes the arcade ambience of a pinball machine. I got the inspiration by thinking of a futuristic city, full of bumpers, that is always awake, playing some videogames and dealing with some chaos, just like pinball machines.

Perfectly captured the theme! The music is FUN and high energy, just like playing pinball. Great work!

I love the arcade and pinball noises, this is so cool. Very high energy. I can totally visualize jumping around a futuristic pinball city or something, it's really great!

Really sick entry! It reminds me a bit of Waluigi Pinball from Mario Kart.  Really playful, quite the banger! :D

One general note though: I would suggest you to upload an .mp3 file of sorts next time, as entries without submission are not considered when looking for "submissions in need of ratings". It almost prevented me from seeing and rating your entry! And besides, without .mp3 I cannot add this song to my iTunes for regular listening (and I am tired of sketchy online converters) :)

Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it! Actually, when looking for inspiration on pinball themes, Waluigi Pinball passed through my mind haha,. And thank you for the advice! Will note it for a next jam, because this is my first one :') gonna see if I can add it now, if not, sent me a DM and will gladly sent it to you :D

Don't worry, it was worth taking the time to download your song anyway, so I have the mp3 already. But thanks for the offer :)
And... this is your first jam?? That's dope! You're song is definitely one of my favorites :D

This track is so fun and I love the melody! I feel like this would work very well in a Mario Kart song with its high energy and uplifting feel. I really like how you add variation in many ways to keep the energy going - having a more subdued chiptune section in the middle with pinball/arcade ambient noises, modulation up a key, and the “Woo!” sound effect to name a couple. This is a very well-crafted piece and nails the theme in my mind and definitely captures the energy of a city designed after a pinball game. Excellent work and thank you for sharing!

Wow I'm smiling from start to end reading this :D thank you so much for your comments! Loved your analysis and the compliments leave me speechless c: It is always a pleasure to know that my music can be liked by other composers  and that they can understand my way of doing music. Thank you very much! :D

great 3 second intro, sets theme right away... and I think the break in the middle was perfect for balancing out the high energy a little while still adding to the arcade atmosphere

Developer(+1)

Thanks you! I glad you like it! Nice to know that the break actually worked well in that sense, because I tends to overenergizes my compositions and finding balance is always a challenge. Thanks!

You managed to capture so much energy and match the theme really well in this song. The melody is super catchy and is fun to listen to the whole way through. There could've been a little more variety, but aside from that, this is easily one of the highest-energy songs in this jam.

Thank you for your feedback! Is fun because normally I vary my leads and chords progressions a lot more than I do in this one, but I was a little scared that too much of it would be too much musical information for everybody. As always, balancing is something than I'll still try to work on, but glad that I come up with something that you like! Thanks :D

Wow! This one is awesome, I love it, might as well be my favorite submission so far (I’ve left to check the last 7 songs).

It is so happy and energetic. I imagine this for a really big city, it reminds me of “Welcome to the city” from Deltarune, but I actually like yours more. :D

Developer(+1)

Wow that's a nice compliment! Thank you! :D Glad you like it! I always try to put some of my own personality into my compositions so is nice to feel that is comparable to some other amazing tracks! Thanks!

What energy! A few pinball sounds and you're in the swing of things!

It's a pleasure to listen to. I could see your music in a Sonic.

The pinball sound is clearly there. On the other hand, it's a little too energetic for me to imagine a city. Or maybe a city like Street of Rage, where everyone gets beaten up :D

That's the only slightly negative point, because everything else is fantastic: the melody, the arrangement, the breaks, the repeats, the variations. I can tell you've worked hard on your song!

Thank you so much for your feedback! Balancing the energy of the track was one of my main issues approaching this,  but sure I learned a lot about it doing the jam haha. Thanks!
