Dinosaur Town

Correlation to theme
I gave the track a prehistoric vibe primarily by using a lot of percussion instruments. I even have a layer of clacking two rocks together. I also utilized sound design elements such as nature sounds that I recorded, pitched down bird calls, and large footstep sounds that come in and out to sound like passing dinosaurs. I made the melody fun and laid back which is what I imagine the environment would be like in a dinosaur town.

This is by far my favorite track I have heard yet!! From the very beginning, I was down for Dino Town, and the longer it went on, the more down I got. This track has all of the funkiness and jungle-iness to fill my dino shaped heart! Great work!!!!

That's so kind of you, thanks! 🦖

I love it! It is soft and sweet, perfect for a town, really feels prehistoric or 'primal' because of the percussion, has soft animal sounds in the back for some spice and extra 'wildlife' feels... And of course, it sounds great! I find this one of the most fitting for an actual in-game town of all the songs I've listened to. Nicely done! :D

Thank you for listening! Glad ya liked it

The elements on the left and right are a good idea... I'm fond of that.

The soft rhythm and sound effects go well with the bass and xylophone (or marimba... I don't know).

The mix is good and coherent... well done!

Developer

Thanks! Glad you liked the instrumentation and mix, I was feeling a but unsure about those elements for a while.

This is great. Very good use of the stereo field, something I never get right. The instrumentation is very appropriate and the arrangement is faintly...Goron-esque? It's also quite unobtrusive, which can be important for soundtracks.

Developer

Thank you! I definitely had a bit of Goron City inspiration, nice catch!

This is great. I love the groovy vibe, and the rock clacking sounds were a genius addition. Really captures the vibe of a cozy town inhabited by friendly dinosaurs. Amazing job!

Developer

Thank you, appreciate it!

The rock clacking sound effect is so awesome! Your sound design is great - the bird call pitched down sounds like what I would imagine some dinosaurs to sound like. I like the light and fun mallet melody combined with the funky bass and rhythm - this is a great combo that would perfectly fit a game with friendly dinosaurs. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Developer

Thanks so much, I'm glad the bird calls sounded like dinosaurs haha. I wasn't sure about them at first.

It feels like a dinosaur themed shop to me. Really cool and simple. Nice!

Thank you!

This is good. It sounds like if Les Baxter scored a 90s Macintosh adventure game

Developer

haha, nice. Thanks!
