Theme
Hot Spring Town
Correlation to theme
I wrote a (hopefully) fairly pleasant town theme led by guitar and flute for towniness, and piano and sine for wateriness. I wrote a second theme for the hot springs themselves, and chose to make it as "watery" as possible with harp glisses and choir. I imagine if this were in a game, the player would be here to heal.

Oh man I love that melody that comes in at 47ish seconds. I also really liked that arpegio that's subtly mixed into the background around there as well. There's a lot of depth but the overall vibe is still very relaxing and calming, it's easy to listen to.
My fav is defo the town theme, but both are interesting tracks for sure.
You got the feeling 100%! It is difficult to be technical about your submission because it just sound amazing! The harps are wonderful applied, the aura that emanates from the chords progression is just calling me to be there. Amazing job!
I really liked both songs! It gives me strong SNES-era songs vibe, and both of them are very well composed and pleasent to listen to. Great job!
Also I might take a shot at using the Edirol VST so thanks for the tip!
Keldecil Town: God, I love this song! It feels nice and serene, perfect for a Hot Spring town. Every part of this song is awesome, from the guitar with a synth at the start, to the beautiful flute at 0:25, or even more beautiful flutes at 0:49, to the choir at 1:13 adding even more serenity to the song. AWESOME :D
Keldecil Springs: That feels truly serene... the choir with the harp, it feels like a divine spring of sorts. Very nice!
This definitely gives me that sanctuary feel, with the suggestion that I'm a safe place. I like your use of soft acoustics!
That was very cool!
I really like the acoustic guitar on the first part. It gives it a “home” feel, i don’t know how to call it.
Both of the pieces you wrote are gorgeous and exceptionally well-written. I have no critique to offer, you're an incredible musician and it shows - both of the pieces you shared here paint such a vivid mental image right from the start. Amazing work.
Aren't you a fan of Nobuo Uematsu?
The first music really has that characteristic touch: grandiose and emotional. I really like it.
Thank you! I am so glad you mentioned this. YES I am. His SNES soundtracks (and the other Square composers) are what got me interested in music as a child. He's probably my main inspiration for town music in general, for better or worse.
Wow... I like it!
This is cool, I get major FF7 vibes from the overall approach, lots of really interesting elements that make this a unique but recognisable sound. You have 2 really unique but definately "in your style" pieces
My one constructive criticism would maybe be that the mix is a bit heavy at times, with quite a lot happening with certain frequencies making it a bit much
Well done!
I knoow about the mix but I ran out of brain juice when it became time to mix things. Thanks for remarking on the FFVII-ness ^^ I admit to having Ahead On Our Way in mind here, or actually I wrote a pastiche of that a few years ago and couldn't use it for the jam, so I sort of gave you the dollar store version. I'm honestly okay with making things like this over and over and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Stealing the term "Ran out of brain juice" XD
The guitar and flute works really well together to create a very relaxing atmosphere. The bells and choir also are really beautiful in the second half of the first tune. The second tune feels so serene and relaxing. I want this to play when I go to the hot springs! The reverb adds a lot to the steamy vibe of your pieces and hits just right. Great work and thank you for sharing!
