beautiful vibes

I really enjoyed the VA!

A simple experience but well made!

That’s a really interesting use of the theme! You should expand it after to add the things you weren’t able to!

Very cool idea! I love the vibe that this game gives. I wish there was a mechanic that would make the font worse, or change what you're writing when you perform the wrong action, or don't write in the light - that would have been pretty silly. Also nice that you were able to submit to two jams! Nice work!

Thank you! Yes, it was planned to splatter ink if you took too much time to perform the correct input. A ink refill mechanic was also planned, which would also cause some splashes if not performed well. Then, you would have needed to clean them up with the piece of blotting paper. Finally, at the end of the game, there should have been a reaction from Elisabeth based on how well you succeeded in writing the letter. But I had only 4 hours to make the game, so I had to scrap all of that, sadly...

The game is unfinished but the voiceover was amazing

While the voiceover was nicely done, the gameplay left me desiring something. The candle didn't do anything, since I could write all the same and there were no ties to the theme of the jam. And seeing that this was probably made with the other gamejam in mind, I understand why. At the very least the game looks and sounds pretty.

Yes the game is unfinished, that's why there are things like the inkwell and bloating paper that are in the game but do nothing. These was supposed to be the "sometimes accident happens" side of the game but didn't had the time to make it work sadly.

Loved the voice over and the game concept. Moving the candle to help with writing is such a great idea. Great job! :)

Simple but very polished and impressive! I didn't really get any sense of the jam theme, but it was a very pleasant experience.

The last line disappeared as soon as I finished writing it; not sure whether that was intentional or not, or whether there should have been something more afterward?

(This comment gives me a sense of déjà vu....)

Thank you for your comment!

Yes, the theme is not really present because I haven't had the time to implement the features that fit the theme. There is an inkwell and a piece of blotting paper in the game because I was planning to make the writing feather dip into the inkwell and make ink splash on the paper that the player would need to clean up with the blotting paper. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to add these features.

And yes, the last line is a bug. I didn't have enough time to properly finish the game. I was planning to include a short text describing Elisabeth's reaction after receiving the letter. Her reaction would have changed if the paper had too much ink splash on it, haha.
