This is your first game -and- a solo project? Damn!! All the applause for you! Thank you for choosing our jam, congrats on your first game, and awesome job pulling it all together. I had fun playing and I hope to see your name again as you practice and grow!

very nice job for a first project. loved the art, sfx you chose, and the characters were all charming!

First of all, congrats on your first VN! I do think that there's a lot of potential in here. You cared enough to give so many various choices to a player, showcase a neat cast of characters and set up an interesting dynamic. I have to agree with everyone else, it's a shame that the ending is so abrupt. You could really explore a lot within this setup

I liked the art style of the game and the story prompt was interesting.

I enjoyed how the story developed,... until the last scene. The prince discovering what's inside the notebook was the best idea, the situation was becoming very tense and involving, and ... nothing, Go back to start.

I tried several times to see if I could get another ending.

I really wanted to have some choice about how to deal with the reveal (be nice, abuse power, etc), And then to see what happens next. Will the king/the knight try to destruct god? to become friend with them? to bribe them to get ultimate power? become completely depressed considering life makes no sense?

Yayy I’m so happy you stuck with it and saw the project through!! I’m very impressed with how many different things you managed for a first VN! The custom main menu, the extra images displayed and especially the sound design (definitely a highlight!). Also, Nicholas is so pretty hehe I wish we got to see more of him :3

I definitely like the foundations and setting laid out here overall! I do agree with the other comments that the narration could use some fleshing out, and I especially would have liked the endings to be fleshed out more. However, it's solid for a first game and I do hope to see more from you!

I'm a sucker for anything with isekai vibes / some level of omnicience that can make the player jaded so I really loved how you tackled this theme!

Although there were some sections that could do with a bit more narrative flow like the escape button end or the sudden romantic option opinions on characters, some segments of the narration that might be better off either keeping the second person continuous or doing first person comments like 'this' or in italics, and the need for a little name box to keep speaker labels visible, you should feel super proud of what you submitted (I'm definitely not one to talk on entries' flow in this jam LOL)!!

To end it off, what I really loved was the attention to sound design throughout the story + the box transitions and cut ins, they really added some dimension to the experience! :D

The choices in your god is a stranger do a great job allowing the player to express their perspective on the narrative. The responses to these choices range from subtle to an outright branch — it’s a really nice variety of reactivity that gives the story a lot of good texture. It’s an excellent first step into VN dev, great work!

Amazing job to you both!! :D

i liked:

  • charming cast of characters! fun banter and attention to sprites. very cute to notice blushing :)
  • great to hear the changing scenes and have different music tracks. liked seeing all the scene art - so cool!
  • smooth transitions, few display mishaps but no gamebreaking bugs
  • LOOOOOVED the idea of an author in their own little made up world. literally. great idea

i disliked:

  • overall weak + rushed narrative - very short focus on characters, didn't care much for the flirting since it was framed as uncomfortable, "escape" just felt very bad- no!!!! let us see the conflict!!! that's why we're here!!! to read about it!!! please let us hear the characters figure it out!!!!!!

This felt like a game you definitely wanted more time on - I'd encourage you to work on it more! This definitely has some real potential to be a great polished work. I'm very impressed how solid this is as a first VN, REGARDLESS of any of my critique. Great job!
