Nice work! I enjoyed the combat, and even being able to use the crates as weapons to smash the bots. I appreciate the inverse kinematics and the bot destruction.
Very interesting submission, i liked the idea of tearing the droids up to get power but i was struggling to tear off any of their limbs, i had to go watch the video you sent on the discord to see how it works and after watching it i managed to get it somewhat working but even then i wasn't really getting much power from them, So in an attempt to find some sort of power up or something i found the jump button which was very fun to use because there's no limit on it, Trying to cheat my way through the game i accidentally clicked the jump too many times and ended up in a void for 2 minutes waiting till my power went off haha
I think if the game would be so much more fun if the limb tearing was easier and you didn't have to repeatedly hit a droid on the same spot 10 times to get one of their limbs off, i mean this guy has exoskeleton iron hands he should be able to absolutely destroy these droids with 1-2 hits
Thanks for the awesome submission both JK and Toreador, i loved the VRJam VKO Boxing easter eggs aswell : )
Really dope graphics- did you guys make the droids? Super dope. I couldnt get past the second level- I kept dying on it!
I found the narrator useful for directing me
Incredible, I love hitting and catching robots. Unfortunately, I didn't understand how to charge the electricity bar, I would have liked to have gone further.
The zoom out when the character dies makes me a bit sick.
You have to break the robots to charge up the energy bar, I've got an Update coming before the voting is over, and .apk which gives visuals of the charger receiving power and SFX. Thanks again for giving it a go.
Awesome atmosphere and level design, even proper voice lines!
Took a little bit to get used to the fighting but then I either sent robots flying with an uppercut or stomped them into the ground with my fists! Great feeling.
My only issue was that I still get neasous quite fast in VR and the camera rides and smooth turning almost made me puke and I couldn't proceed very far. (I reached the taxi tho!)
I could also jump indefintely and fly out of the map, but that wasn't a huge deal since I could just decide not to do it.
Thanks for giving it ago, I too get nauseous in Vr, you'd think as devs we'd have found our VR legs by now, Didnt notice the jumping, there is a option for snap turning in the menu.
I really like the visual! But then I also face the same problems as BEB, I do not know how to charge the electricity bar. I read through the comment, I tried to charge when the robots fall down and breaks into piece. I grip the broken pieces but it does not help. Is it possible that a tutorial / instruction about this will be added?
Thanks for playing! Your power level automatically increases on every break of a robot limb/body, but you probably dont notice it because you're busy breaking things. (The idea being that breaking a robot limb makes them 'bleed electricity'). Once they're broken parts, they're out of juice, but it's neat to hear that you were picking up parts and trying, anyhow.
Having a visual of the power you're stealing would help comprehension, most definitely, so it's a little more obvious when you do.
Thanks again!
Absolutely loved the full body ik and the combat although I couldn't progress as the electricity bar wouldn't go up after killing an enemy.
Thanks for playing! I'm curious how you killed your enemies, because the charger function works, but what you need to do is break the robots to gain energy from them, by hand. You can break them with throwables too, but you dont gain any juice doing so. On our end, it would help to have a more visual representation of 'feeding' from the fallen robots, and maybe some haptics to notify the player of increased charge. We had lots of fun ideas on how increasing our charge would affect combat, and got some of them in there. Thanks again!
Thats what I didn't understand breaking the robot limbs, I'll likely retry your game. Also I think if you want to continue the project you could put visual weakpoints to the robots just to help visualise where hitting would work better.
Every limb is breakable. Head, shoulders, elbows, knees, spine and hips. I don't think greater visualization of that would work, but definitely agree that visualizing the power drain would. We're incorporating what we've learned from feedback like this into the apk we're also building for the Q3. Thanks again!
