Needs explanation as I did not know what was going on but it was still one of the funner games and was just stunning.
damn those were some effects xd good job!
Very cool game, amazing effects and animations.
Could you rate mine? https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-2/rate/552654
Really solid game, thoroughlyenjoyed playing threw a few times.
The game really beautiful the definitely have weight, witch matter a lot.
The controls was kind slope though, I couldn't aim the way I wanted ahahaha
Everything is so good. WOWIE. The visuals are AMAZING and the retro vhs style is nice, one thing I can mention is that you could've add more intense vhs "filter" with some pixelation to fit the general style better. Also, are there any powerups in the game? I played for a while but never got a weapon upgrade or something?
Nope, no powerups. The level is linear and pre-determined. Your only goal is to beat the waves of enemies and save enough ram to fight and kill the mothership :-)
Stunning, I really hope I can learn to do visuals like this. This is a 10/5
Amazing what you could visually achieve in 72 hours. The visuals are awesome but the Gunship (awesome idea btw) is a bit slow for my taste. Got really really difficult after the first miniboss. Overall a great game still. :D
This game is really fun, also the visuals are nice, but the difficulty is a bit cruel. Overall, I had a blast with this.
Amazing! 10/10 Visuals, love the effects. It's easy to tell there was a hard work put behind this game's development! Good job :D
Wow, amazing! I didn't quite understand what to do at the beginning, but I somehow managed to get somewhere after some point. Took me a little bit to work out what the gist is and once I did I loved it. Really interesting way of looking at the theme, plus the old tv effect really sells it! Good job!
Solid visuals, really nice gameplay, graphics were a bit strong for my potato tier integrated graphics card but i still managed to play it a bit and i liked it a lot. Beautiful visually is what i have to say once again, GREAT JOB!!!
I would love to really play this game, but it runs like crap on my integrated graphics and crashed after 2mins of gameplay. I wish there were graphics options for people like me with potatoes. It looks so cool, I wish I could actually play it! Nice work anyway :)
Indeed, we didn't design the game with integrated graphics in mind. We abused the heck out of the new Unity VFXs and some 'beta' technologies to have that kind of result. ^^'
While it could be technically possible to make a less demanding version, we just don't have the time in the jam's timeline. Heck, we still didn't have a game loop 3 hours before the deadline x)
No worries! The game looks dope as a result, so it's an acceptable loss.
Kind of expected this to be an RNG space-shooter or a strategy game... Boy, was I wrong!
I really like how some stuff is timed to the music, the visuals are insanely cool, and even fits the theme! What can I say? This is just amazing! :)
I really love the game!
The visual were spectacular and the sound was so great!
This is one of my favorite games in this jam!
Keep up the great work!
Insane looking game,music and visuals...Wowie !
Thanks!
Niiice! The twist is great, forces you to play entirely differently that you would in a standard shmup.
Awesome work, very well done!
Stay funky,
Dez
The game crashes (unintentionally) about 1 to 2 minutes into the SHMUP. There are a lot of enemies and I'm trying to shoot them, but then the game freezes and gets force quit by Windows. Though, the art, sfx's, music and post-processing are incredible.
If you can send us your log file along with your hardware configuration, that'd help us a lot. Thanks !
Where can I find the log file?
C:\Users\{Your_Windows_Username}\AppData\LocalLow\DefaultCompany\WowieJam2.0
Okay, found it. Do you need the two text files (Player and Player-prev) and where can I send them to?
You can upload them to this link : https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiU1u7az8WOK7WKXlw5inJG8ASIS?e=elzfV0
Thank you !
Sure, no problem. Good luck!
From your log file, it seems like the Unity engine is trying and failing to create some 2d texture buffers in your vram, and this leads to a crash.
I noticed that the video card used to initialize the renderer is a Intel(R) HD Graphics 520. This card isn't really designed for heavy workloads.
If you are on a laptop with multiple graphic cards, you might want to plug in your laptop, and configure it to use the dedicated graphic card instead of the integrated one.
Perhaps you can also try to launch the game with the argument
-force-glcore, albeit we do not have tested the game with OpenGL.
Alright, thanks for the support!
The post-processing is incredible.
