Neat, simplistic puzzle game! This game has a cool aesthetic, and some interesting puzzles :)

Nice game, but there's alredy a lot of corpses stay after you die games, tho this is the only one i've seen so far where you can pick up the corpses, and the puzzle design was good

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! I like the simplistic artstyle and the music is really great!

Yo music is siick! I like that you meant  the puzzle way, cuz a lotta people made platformers where you have to jump in spikes to die and progress. The game was well designed and actually had some funny moments with the pyhsics (I loved how you can push down that giant drill down the pit.)

I actually didn't get stuck anywhere. I just liked the level and game design, very well done. I'm following you on twitter, so make sure to post there. Also, if you can, post some music bits as well. You got awsome music!

Also, if you played my game too, that'd be super duper apreciated! https://theothetorch.itch.io/blue-insides

Hey! Music was made by JMCD, not me. Also, I already rated your game yesterday.

Oh yeah, you did just do that xD silly me, keeping track of all this didn't really work out, well thanks anyways!

Picking and throwing the bodies is very awkward, why did you separated the the pick and throw button?? Sometimes i just wanted to throw a body, press the E key and nothing happened... And talking about that...

It took me 20 mins to understand how to pass this room (and btw i discover it by mistake), How in the world was i supposed to guess that my corpse can outright deflect a big falling volcano?? The falling "stalactite" should have been a lot smaller if you wanted to guess me that, or at least an indication...

Another part not-so intuitive: this puzzle you're supposed to take the corpse from the button, hit the reset button use the corpse that i have in hand to clear the falling "stalactite" and then pick up the other corpse as a step to make the jump, but how in the world the player can figure it out that. I'm assuming (or at least, i hope this is the case) that you wanted the players to use the "stalactite" to kill themselves, then take the corpse from there and continue the puzzle, but if you try to do that the "stalactite" just kills you instead

(this part is also really hard to do, plus a bit glitchy, but i can let that slide since it's the end)

(Also i found this bug, and this room is very hard too... :3)

Ok here's my feedback:

  • The art is OK. The music is very Good
  • The player feels slow, and the player controller could be improved
  • I'd like to see dust particles when i walk/jump.
  • Keep the pick/throw mechanic simple: make it one button
  • Also when i release a body it instantly falls, like it was made of steel or something... Make it a more realistic throw
  • The rooms weren't intuitive, hard and overall not super well designed...
  • Also the room (especially the tutorial ones) feels more like a mechanic showcase more than a challenge, there are many occasions where i knew what i had to do and didn't feel gratified by discovering the solution
  • Like i said, the volcano, it's wayy too big, fast and gives no feedback when you're close to his falling range. Also it's not intuitive
  • I can't know what is the active checkpoint by just looking at them
  • The game is super short, but it drags for longer that it needs to be...
  • Overall a good game, with many things that could be improved, but still a good game

Hey!

- Trust me when I say that making bodies have the same button would make the gam 10 times worse.

- Making the stalactite smaller would make the player be able to just dodge it.

I can't defend myself on anything else. Fair points.

Submitted(+1)

Mhm.. Ye, understandable. If i can still give you some feedback...

- ...I'd had made the grab and the throw button more closer (let's say Left and Right Mouse Button), Or at least all on the mouse/keyboard (it's really hard to switch form the keyboard to the mouse just to throw the bodies)

- ...I'd make a reskin of the "stalactite"object: maybe a piece of falling roof, or maybe even a proximity laser that fires you if you get too close. As it is the "stalactite" is only weird and unfair to the player

Thanks for the criticism. I appreciate you not just saying "Good game".

Very creative idea to be able to pick up your corpses to solve the puzzles. Overall i think this game is great. Well done.

It was a fun short puzzle platformer, good job! It was one of the more creative takes on the "your corpse stays when you die" idea, with you having to pick them up and move them about, and the ceiling spikes (what were they, actually?) played with this mechanic too, which was unique. The controls were good too which is always nice to see in a jam game, although they were much better suited for using A/D rather than arrow keys - that's more of a minor nit-pick though.

And onto the art! I really liked the one bit style of the game. It's much harder to use than most other styles, but it works well here, especially with the sound effects - it's got a nice retro feel to it. Some of the graphics were inconsistent though, like the mixed pixel sizes between the obstacles, and the font looking out of place in the game - fixing that definitely would've helped the overall style of the game. The player's walk animation did look a little strange too - maybe speeding it up would've helped there. I loved the music though, it was a really nice addition, so good work on that!

With that all said, it's a nice short platformer with a unique concept and some good ideas - I'd love to see some more content to the game! Nice work!

FYI the ceiling spikes are stalactites.

Nice idea, nice way to teach the player how to play, well done. The one complaint i have is that the grabbing and throwing button might as well be the same, and it would be much more comftable

Very enjoyable game! I had a lot of fun playing it!

really nice game but the controls are mixed up. normally when using A and D to move we use W to jump. but it's a good game!

Really nice controls, love the creative idea and really hit the nail on the head with the theme. I love how you can interact with the dead bodies as well, nice job !

Submitted(+2)

Interact with corpses is well. In games with similar mechanics, it often happens that they are difficult to control, but you did everything conveniently.

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game!

Well done!
