Can't rate as an outsider but can post this comment. Very good! Could use a little polish, specifically in these areas:
-Right click to simply drop item like in Source Engine (which I know this is based on, I saw that Cave Johnson reference ;) )
-Keep the physics on the box while you're holding it. If it exceeds a certain distance from where it should be while you're holding it, it should exit your hand, like in Source. Don't worry about physics bugs, they can be incredibly funny which would actually kinda fit the tone you are going for here.
-Glass should be more obvious. Give them scratches or a little less transparency or something.
Now, on to the positives:
-Incredibly clever! A very interesting usage of the theme; feels like I'm an evil saboteur ruining some poor soul's Portal speedrun XD
-Portal reference ;)
-Custom assets are always refreshing. Visual quality wasn't bad either (although some antialiasing would have been nice).
I have a question. What engine did you use to create this game? I've never seen an engine that spits out a pure executable like that except for a decade-old demoscene engine (not even a game engine really).
Hey thanks for playing my game! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the detailed feedback. :D
I'll respond to your question over discord in a sec.
Controls are a bit buggy but I was already hyped after reading your pitch, still loved my time with it! Love the visuals and atmosphere yo
Yo thanks for playing! Happy that you enjoyed the pitch and the game!
Absolutely!
I have a latency of one second, which is a bit annoying. But other than that the game is very nice
Wait what do you mean by a latency of one second? Do you have input lag or?
Yeah it is a input lag. But maybe i should look if it is because of my computer or the software.
I wasn’t able to get past the second chamber (the trajectory on the jump pads for me overshot), but pretty fun from what I did manage to play. Kind of like Portal, except you’re purposefully getting stuck.
Thanks for playing! Not all jump pads lead you to another jump pad. Some kill you (the ones marked with a red glow). And yeah that was basicaly the idea. Portal but you softlock the chambers in stead of solving them. "Shutter Inovations" was a easteregg relating to portal I guess :D
Neat concept with with lots of fun cube homicide.
Haha thanks for playing! ;D
Great game, I love it! I really enjoyed playing it! Good job!
Thanks!
I sadly can't get through the first chamber :(
I throwed, pushed and glitched the cube through the window. I even throuwed it through the door, but the game doesn't say i did it :(
But that what i have seen was good. Here a little thing that i noiticed: When you look behind you in the hallway before the fisrst chamber you can't see anything. I shouldn't took to long to place a usless door behind the player so that it doesn't look's like he came from the chamber.
Hey thanks for playing! I kind of misplaced the collider. You need to throw it sort of far behind the door for the game to notice!
The other levels should be better! The last chamber even features jump pads! :D
Thanks for the feedback. I might upload a fixed version after the voting or something like that
great game found some cool glitches
I played it for hours
Hey wow thats awesome! I am happy that you enjoyed it! Thanks!!
Good concept, fits the theme.
Some minor thoughts:
- nice twisted puzzles
- solid visuals and intro
- sometimes the buttons not react perfectly
- control while in the air is little bit confusing
- some SFX would be nice
Hey thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
Yeah the buttons are a bit buggy when holding an object.
And the controls are basicaly disable during airtime as I did not have enough time to implement a propper system!
I am glad you enjoyed it!
The aesthetic of legally distinct Aperture is really cool (my favorite part was how the opening letter was signed 'Cavern Johnson'), and the idea of turning unintentional softlocks into the main mechanic is very interesting and ends up being a lot of fun. The visuals in general are quite polished, but one thing I would like to touch on is the gameplay - I ended up softlocking Chamber 2 both by throwing both cubes out the observation window and by throwing one cube through the door.
Overall, great job! This is one of the most polished games I've played so far.
Thanks a lot! Yeah I kind of forgot a few triggers/colliders here and there to check if you "bricked" the chamber. Glad that you liked the opening letter, I tried to make it fun to read :D
very cool!
Awesome Thanks!
Amazing, a little bit too dark but apart from that one of the best games I have played so far :D
Awesome Thanks!
Not many words, just good!
Thanks!
Really original idea! It's a bit tricky to complete the levels, but very enjoyable
Thanks for playing and rating!
