I had a great time playing this! The upgrades are really varied and make for super fun gameplay. I wish there were hearts that dropped or something else to heal once in a while

Love it!

Good! I like your music and sound effects. Thank you for game !

I liked the concept for this and the presentation is really good.

The difficulty of the game made it tricky to really get into. Because Jelly is so bad at killing enemies, there seems to be more and more of them with every second, until there's basically no open spaces for me to jump to anymore. I'm sure that it could be done if you're very good, but the lack of progress I was making was pretty discouraging for the most part. If Jelly could deal with enemies a bit fast (the 50% damage bump helps, but not enough), it might have worked. I also would have liked to see more upgrades for Peanut, other than the extra jump (if there were some of those, I never got them), to make survival a bit more feasible.

Overall, I think this is a pretty polished game (except for one or two small bugs), and it looks quite good as well in the sort of arcade aesthetic.

Good job!

Loved visual part and sounds. Portals look great.

As for gameplay, it is bit monotonous cause you have not so much options to move around (so you are always jumping between a couple of platforms). Also it was pretty hard to avoid increasing amount of enemies. It takes really long time for Jelly to deal with a single enemy

I always wondered what it felt like to be the subject of an escort mission, it turns uselessly flailing about trying to survive while someone else does all the work is really fun. Thanks Jelly!

This the comment that has me cackling

Simple and optically pleasing, such a cute Idea with Peanut and Jelly! :>

The AI could be a little more responsive and the background is a little too "wobbly" for me, but a good way to ramp up the action after all!

Good job! :)

  • good squash/stretch/animations
  • consistent graphics
  • understandable game-play loop
  • Makes me think of super crate box
  • could use a bit bigger level (more places to move to/from)
  • I couldn’t find an upgrade path that got upgrades fast enough to keep up with the number of enemies scaling
  • the ‘upgrade’ point pickups could be more eye catching, I didn’t realized I needed to pick them up (or even that they were there) at first.

Exactly what you think of when you hear "Game Jam", Great job!

The gameplay is not so polished but I like the visuals and sound.
Good job.
Please Rate my game.

Developer

Saying please rate my game doesn’t make me want to rate your game. I’d suggest writing a lot more and having actual feedback if you want people to want to rate your game

This game looks nice, but I don't really like the game design and its mechanic. The game really difficult and really not assisting. The way the tracking weapon can miss the target at point blank is really unsatisfying to see. The player character's survivability is pretty low, and the upgrade sometimes has duplicated upgrades and the upgrade that has no additional effect if the player already has is shown in the upgrade. The enemy spawning near the player is really unpleasant. The frozen enemy can still do damage to the player.

The game should be made easy If the game is not going to have difficulties selection. This game isn't just too difficult for me, but I also don't find it fun by how the game was designed.

However, the game looks good, the player movement is ok, visual and sound is all good.

Thanks for the review! I spent a lot of time fiddling with the shots missing and I could never seen to  get it right which really sucked and I agree on most of your points and wanted to fix them but there’s just not enough time.

Also I’m not sure what you mean by the player not getting an additional effect from duplicates because they do? Do you have more of a description for what happened there?

I did want to add difficulty settings but didn’t have the time so I made it like this because the last similar game to this I made everyone said it was boring because it started too slow, but I guess I went too much in the other direction this time.

Amazing and addicting game! After like 30 minutes I still couldn't pass the first level, but it's still super fun! Art and music are great :)

I like this game a lot! The difficulty becomes a problem pretty quickly, but it keeps you on your toes and the gameplay is exciting and fun! Keep up the good work!

I really like this game! My only complaint is that it's pretty hard. But I love how it fits the theme perfectly, but expands on it! Great job

Developer

If thats your only complaint I'm happy cause I was going for a difficult game

Submitted

Amazing art! Really creative take on the theme, and the whole feel of the game was nice.

I didn't really understand how to tell jelly who to shoot, but I kinda figured it was to get close to the enemies.

Really great game! I loved it!

Developer (1 edit)

Glad you enjoyed! The idea was that you didnt choose because Jelly chooses but you can kinda choose by being close to enemies

the game plays really well, art and all the juice you added are amazing, getting upgrades feels very satisfying. it was very challenging although i felt like very little depended on me

Developer

Yeah I think part of that is that I had wanted better/more upgrades so the player had to plan to make synergies and then the jelly would use that to fight kind of like an auto battler but with some control but I don’t think I ended up adding much synergy

Submitted

Very nice game. Although, it would've been nice if Jelly would shoot faster.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I was thinking of adding an upgrade for that but didnt have enough time to add all the upgrades I wanted
