Awesome!!! Thank you. I'll make sure and tune in!

Thanks for the feedback! Yes we will probably release another version after the game jam and scale down the difficulty.

As for the 2D version having some impact on the 3D version, that was an original plan, the 10 day time frame suggested otherwise.

We may try to finish out our original idea with this in the near future. Thanks for checking it out!!!

Very cool concept. Seeing  the other dimensions in the background is a really cool idea and well executed, very well done with that.  The only issue I noticed were the collision along the walls. There were a few instances where I would get suck along the side. After jumping I became unstuck. This did not effect my experience making it to the end. Aesthetically everything matches very will and builds up on cohesive environment. Good job!!!

Great job overall. This is a very polished submission. Visually and audibly everything fits together very well. The gameplay mechanics are simple yet I did not feel I was missing anything. There was one tiny, and I mean really tiny thing that I noticed. When taking pictures of some of the animals I was a bit confused on how much of the cell phone screen the animal needs to take up for it to register. For some of the smaller animals I had to be really close, so that the animal would fill up the center box on the camera screen. Then in other cases, particularly the squid at the end I had to be a distance where the entire animal would not show up in the frame of the camera. I tried taking a picture of the squid from a distance so he would fill the center box but it would not register. This did not disrupt my experience at all.

Great work overall through from top to bottom. An impressive amount to detail in such a short time frame!!!

Thats good to know. I will have to keep this in mind for future projects!

Thanks for checking it out!

Sorry to hear about the performance issues. We were able to test with a GTX 970 and were getting ~30FPS. We did as much optimizing as we could in the short time. Thank you for trying out the game!

Thanks! Using the dial up sounds had a Nostalgia hit for me.

Nice little game here! I really like being able to jump up and double tap RMB real quick to see where to go next. The ending I though was a little too challenging. I really like to the controls are not too slippery the acceleration and deceleration rates I thing are perfect for the speed of the player and size of the platforms.  Overall great concept and well executed!

Wow!!! This is one of the best I have reviewed so far for this jam. I love the mechanic I feel it is one of best fits to the theme in this jam and it is solidly done. Great job if you have any plans to expand this idea and create additional levels I would do so. It would be cool to moving platforms in a next iteration. Fantastic job overall!!!

Short but complete! Everything is covered here for a full game loop with a clear end. Everything fits together very nice. This would be a cool concept to continue exploring, maybe even add an additional dimension to trade objects through. Good job!

This is a cool little platformer. I really like the art style. The lava section feels very complete to me. It took a bit of getting used to the platformer mechanics. Once I get used to them they felt okay. I did feel that hitting the lava takes 50 percent  of you health to be a bit much. Maybe if there was some health along the way this would feel less severe. Overall fun game, reminds me of every morning how I feel till I can get my coffee :)

Interesting game. I think the concept for sure is really cool. There were a few issues of being able make the character move between walls. For the concept of a maze this only a visual miscue as I could see the path to get to the orange square I clicked on. I felt the graphics were fine but the camera movement was a but jerky. If you could attached the camera to an overhead view instead of the character pawn moving around the level that would probable make the gameplay experience I bit more enjoyable and less jerky. That being said I like like having the camera close to the play so you can not see too much of the maze. It makes you feel like you are stuck in there too :)

(1 edit)

Cool idea. I really like the arcade feel to this game. As with other comments below I also enjoyed the 2D world more than the 3D one. However, it was still fun switching back and forth between them.

It took me a little bit to get used to switching between W and S to set the turret pitch in the 3D world and then A and D in the 3D world. This was minor though and once I got accustomed to I it was not a problem. Great submission!!!

FYI I also only played the downloadable version

Great little game, I really enjoyed this one! I really like the aesthetics with the black and white look. The mechanics with the bow bridges are also amazing. This would be a really cool concept to explore farther. Not sure if you did your own voice acting but it also feels very natural. It reminded me a lot of Superliminal, especially the part at the end where you end up in the room you are not supposed to go to. Overall great job!!!

This is a cool little game. I really like the music and the vibe of playing through a TV screen. The mechanic is simple but at the same time you instantly know how to play which I find really important. I had to play several rounds to beat my last score.

I saw on the projects itch page this is your first 3D game and you made the 3D assets.  You did a really good job on keeping everything very uniform. It really makes for good aesthetics. Good job!!!

Thank you for the feedback!

Glad you enjoyed it! We were super excited to try the concept out. It was a technical nightmare but we feel it was worth it! We'll be sure to check out and rate your game. :)

Thanks so much! We were terrified of this idea because of the massive scope but once we thought of it we had to do it! It was definitely a lot more complicated than we anticipated. We'd love to check out your game and we'll be sure to vote on it of course. Cheers!

Cool game. I think you did a really good job on the rate of difficulty increasing. This was really refreshing to see compared to lots of other submissions. Also good job on making the assets yourself in Blender. Everything fits together nicely. I wasn't too sure on how to use the phone while weaving throughout the cars, however, It didn't stop me from trying to trying to beat my last score :)

Nice project! The driving mechanics are really polished for a game jam. Very impressed! Along with the driving and probably just as important is the follow camera. Nice job on this as well,  it felt really natural.  I would like to see this as a multiplayer game in the future! Great job overall!!!

Cool idea. I really like the 2d part. I would really try and continue working on this concept I thing you have something here that is worth continuing without the pressure of a jam deadline. I would love to check out a later version in the future!

This is really neat. I played the downloaded version and it runs great. The low pitched music is a really nice feel for the aesthetics!

This is a really cool idea. It is challenging doing a platformer at an angle but I really like it here. The music is great and really catchy too!

Cool concept with the reverse controls. Reminds me of some of the SNES games that did this

Now I have a new song stuck in my head lol. Great little game. I really like your take on the theme.

Ah okay!!! That makes sense

We could use some rating as well only at 6 at this point. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I will also playing through all games submitted by anyone who reviews us. Thanks!!!

Just rated your submission :)

This is a fun little game, easy to loose track of time with these, especially with the background music you choose. You just want to try it one more time. Keep up the good work, add a few more mechanics!!!

This is a cool game! I was a little confused in the begging on exactly what the mechanics were but once I figured them out it was a lot of fun! I really like how the people are randomly spawned in every try, it avoids finding a quick patters and makes every play through different. The only minor issue I found was every time I would possess a new human my rotation would be flipped 180 degrees. Great job!

Thanks for playing. I will be playing and rating your game tonight

Thanks for pointing this out, it is greatly appreciated.  I will get this fixed tonight and upload a fixed version. Thanks again!

Thanks for playing! Yes I will play through your game and rate it tonight!

Fun little game!

I really like the way this game looks. Great job on the Aesthetics!

Cool mechanic! It felt very natural. I also agree that some background music and additional sound effects could go a long way and make everything more polished.

Just rated and left a comment on the submission page. Here is our game https://aaron51.itch.io/bit-ridge-blitz

This is really neat. I really like to 2D assets in the 3d world look and it works well here. It took me a while to think of doing the dimension shift while jumping between the platforms. Once I figured that out the game was really fun. I also should have looked at the controls longer. I didn't realize you could double jump till the boss!

Great job overall really enjoyed playing through it!
