Loved playing this! The story and mechanics are great, and the click-and-point adventure style suits it perfectly.
The final action nearly made me cry.
Awesome mechanics, awesome story, perfect use of theme.
Please though, add a full screen mode (via itch).
Yes it was short but that doesn't matter for a jam, in fact it was the perfect length for a jam.
I salute you!!
A surprising story! Great idea for the jam theme and you implemented it well! The split screen system is clever and very intuitive, everything controlled very smoothly too. Could be a great premise for a full game.
I truly enjoyed this! I liked the story and the mechanics and how it was a click and point adventure which perfectly worked together with the theme and made the puzzles work together well. Like killing the "creature" made it in to the spirit world. Amazing details! :)
Good concept for a proper game!
Awesome game! Splitting the screen worked very well, great story too.
Well done! :)
Amazing! Creative and fun. Well done!
This a solid concept that can absolutely work for a full game! The game's short and sweet. Pretty much everything is on point, so I don't have any feedback. I would however love to see a longer, more intricate story in a future version perhaps :)
Beautiful game, Love the Synty assets but I also love the sprit realm part. I think that was a beautiful and powerful touch, especially with the finale. Short game but it packed a strong story so good job!
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you liked the game!
I really enjoyed this, I especially liked how the soul and the character had to work together, nice job on making this very intuitive. Also, the sound effects worked really well! I really like the point and click aspect. it worked really well, and thank you for starting on the beginning of the current "area" because I died with the zombie, and was glad to respawn there, and not back outside. Fun game!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback. Yeah, I find it annoying when the player gets sent too far back after dying, so I made sure just to restart the scene. Glad you liked the game!
very cool interpretation. the split-screen that allowed simultaneuos control of both characters was really cool and honestly something I could see work for a longer game as well.
It was also surprising how well all the animations worked - I guess DOTween has something to do with that? is that a big difference to the unity animator?
and the sound design! and the short, but complete story that you told!
really good stuff.
would be honored if you play my game as well - it's a take on point'n'click adventures as well
Thanks for the feedback! Most of the animations were from Mixamo with Unity's Animation Rigging package used to tweak them. I actually used DOTween very little, just for some subtle adjustments when the girl was being carried and put down. It's really just for tweening individual values and makes it easier to LERP without coroutines.
I played your game, too, rated and left a comment.
I think this is one of my favorite games so far. Though short, it feels like all the different elements (visuals, mechanics, effects, theme) work together to build a world and tell a complete story with a satisfying ending. Very impressive.
Thanks! I really did try to get as much of a complete story (or at least the hint of one) as I could.
That was a complete loop, even if 'very short'. There was a mystery, an antagonist (sort of :D), and a resolution. Good work adding sound effects as well, and I liked that both dimensions were simply visible at once. I also thought it was hilarious how the zombie after dying and waking up in the spirit dimension was just like "GRAAH BRAINS!" Apparently that's just how zombie souls are? ;)
Yeah, not a very smart antagonist, was he? Really, he was just sort of a hired thug. I find zombies are always the same, in life, death, undeath and re-death... it's no wonder they're so cranky! Thanks for playing!!
Cool concept! I think the game was fun. The ambiance and sfx were good. I liked that you could see both dimensions at the same time and didn't have to swap between them.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you like the ambiance and SFX. I almost didn't put the sounds in (vs. doing another puzzle) and had to fight with the lighting to get it working properly in the WebGL version. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Wow! It took me a second to understand how to move, but I liked the game so much. From the story, with animations and sounds and the split into 2 worlds. If you continue this some day let me know so I will be able to play :)
I probably should have put some instructions in the game for how to play. I'm guessing you assumed WASD at first? I would like to make this into a full game at some point. I need to work out how to leverage the physical/spirit world mechanics into more interesting puzzles. And figure out a full story. And find the time to do it all... it will be a while... :) Thanks for the kind words and feedback!
Short but complete! Everything is covered here for a full game loop with a clear end. Everything fits together very nice. This would be a cool concept to continue exploring, maybe even add an additional dimension to trade objects through. Good job!
Hmmm, additional dimensions... that's an interesting idea! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, thanks for the feedback!
Short but sweet point and click! There isn't much to it but everything there works intuitively without any problems.
The zombie sounds are great, an amazing way to be introduced to the game and also bookend completing it! I'm being serious but also it was really funny to me. :)
Lol, yeah the ending is kind of abrupt with getting thrown back to the main menu. But... jam time... something had to give! I'm glad you liked it and thanks for playing!
This game was so nice :). I really liked the story of trying to get your other back. Simple and short but the experience was really nice. I enjoyed it :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing!
I loved every second of this. I don't know if you plan to do any more with this idea, but I'd love an even longer game with more puzzles that uses these mechanics and maybe has some atmospheric music to help players get immersed in the story.
Great job!
I was really bummed I didn't have time to get music in there. I totally agree that would add to the immersion. I am hoping to expand on this and add more interesting puzzles. Thanks for taking the time to play and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Super nice concept! I like how you control both characters by clicking on different part of the screen. The story also quite good. Good job!
Thanks for the feedback! I wasn't sure how controlling 2 characters through the split screen would play out, but it seems to have worked pretty well.
you have interpreted the game theme very well, I really like the models used in both dimensions and it's a nice game play the other thing I liked are the sound effects they suit well in the world good job on your game D. would try out my game and rate according.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! The SFX were one of the last things I added and it took most of a day to do it (so many SFX for such a small game, and I didn't quite get them all in) so I'm glad you liked them!
yeah I understand D, we had limited time but good work :)
