What a unique submission! I really dig the atmospheric vibe of this soundtrack. It was a nice change of pace that made for a fantastic listening experience. I'm gonna save these tracks for the next time I boot up some minecraft or something. Awesome job!

The vibes of this soundtrack are immaculate. The blending of those synths with classical orchestra is a beautiful touch. You do a great job of capturing the sort of whimsical feeling of a child's imagination and you explain your reasoning behind each track really well. This is a wonderful submission and you should be really proud! Well done!

These tracks are so pretty! The first track was super sweet and relaxing. I also really liked the journey that second track took me on- so many different ideas and moods that worked so seamlessly with each other. This is all quality stuff here. This is a fantastic submission!

Wow, this is one of the chillest and well-produced submissions I've come across. I really like the variety of sounds you used. It kind of reminds me of Celeste's OST- I wonder if it was an inspiration for this soundtrack. I think you nailed the vibe you were going for and you should be really proud of the quality of this soundtrack. Congrats!

This is a really fun and sweet sounding soundtrack! The bubble tracks indeed sound very bubbly- great choice of instruments there. Dash to the Docks is also quite upbeat and catchy which is perfect for a racing theme. I like the idea you had for your game and you definitely represented it well with your soundtrack!

A very relaxing and charming soundtrack! All of these tracks have a pleasant gentleness to them which is a welcome change of pace for this jam. My favorite track was probably Light of Hope although I loved the folk vibe in Tavern Bardsong. This was a beautiful submission, great job!

Let's gooo another beepbox enthusiast! I mentioned this before but it truly does astound me just how creative these chiptune entries can be with their sound design. Submissions like these give me the inspiration to try new things with my tracks and experiment with new sounds. There are a lot of great ideas in here and with a 35 min runtime, it's one of the most complete soundtracks I've seen in this jam. You've clearly put a lot of effort into this and it's paid off tremendously!

Very cool and unique submission!  I love the direction you took with these tracks, they all have such a cool sound to them. The composition is on point and the sound design is stellar (I'll definitely be checking out Bound to Divide on YT). I had a great time with this soundtrack, awesome job!

This is one of the most creative interpretations of the theme that I've encountered so far. I grew up watching my cousins play horror games and this soundtrack just took me right back to those days. I think writing some more chilled out and relaxing tracks was a good call- it definitely works within the context of your game. You should be really proud of this! Everything from the excellent cover art, to the game concept, to the soundtrack itself exudes quality. Great submission!

You have a beautiful composition style! This was a super bubbly and charming soundtrack where all the tracks were tied together really well. That second track definitely stood out to me the most. The Baroque style is truly a work of art when done well. I had a great time listening to this. Excellent entry!

It's always great to see how much work people put into creating the world their soundtrack is based off of. The story and context you provide helps tie all the tracks together and keep listeners engaged throughout the entire run time. Creating this deep of a soundtrack in approximately a week is no small feat. Awesome job!

Very very nice submission! I loved the chords in the first track- it gave a really pretty and melancholic feel. The instruments/sounds you chose in the second track work really well together and help nail that dreamy vibe you were going for. Two tracks were all you needed to produce a quality soundtrack!

Btw on an unrelated note, after the second track finished SoundCloud auto-queued Giratina for me. That track goes hard just thought you should know.

This soundtrack is filled with so much wonder and charm! Everything complements each other really well, with each section bouncing ideas of one another to create a beautiful listening experience. Your piano and chord writing in particular really stood out to me and have given me some newfound inspiration for my own compositions as well. This was a wonderful submission. Thx for sharing!

This soundtrack took me back to the RPGs I played when I was a kid! I can definitely hear the Zelda inspiration in these tracks whilst still feeling unique. I also liked the variety in your tracks, composing for both cutscenes and in-game situations. I hope you continue to develop this idea you have here because this soundtrack is a really solid start!

Wow, I think this is the first submission I've come across with lyrics and it's definitely a welcome suprise! I read through the project page and I'm amazed with how much thought and emotion was put into this track and its lyrics. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there, but I think it's a big contributor as to why everyone really likes this submission. I could only imagine the kind of soundtrack you'd cook up if you had some more time, so I really hope to see your music in a future jam! Great work!

I had a really good time with this soundtrack! The amount of effort put into these tracks in just a week is inspiring stuff. The sense of progression in "Daylight" was great and it totally makes sense within the story you provided. I also loved the use of 5/4 in the second track, it worked really well and definitely helped differentiate it from the first track. Fantastic entry overall!

The narrative/story you have for this game is fantastic! I think each track works perfectly and fits well with your game's narrative. Your composition skills are great and your use of motifs is commendable. Also that penny whistle (or at least that's what I think it was) in "Bubble Reef" was lovely to listen to. I feel like you could further elevate its sound with a little reverb, although this could just be my personal preferences speaking. This is a great soundtrack backed by a really intriguing story. Very very nice entry!

(1 edit)

I think out of all the genres I've listened to in this jam, horror has been the most interesting thus far. It's so far from the type of music that I'm comfortable making that I always feel like I'm learning so much listening to these entries; and the same can absolutely be said for this soundtrack. I think you've nailed the eerie and tense atmosphere this type of game would demand, along with the more sorrowful/melancholic tracks. This was a great listen, awesome soundtrack!

This!!! Is exactly the kind of music that pops into my head when I picture dark fantasy. "Jailer and Prisoner Alike" was my favorite track for sure, I loved the epic and grandiose feel of it supported by the organ and bells. You should be really proud of what you made here. This is an excellent and unique soundtrack!

Always great to see a fellow chiptune entry! It's nice to see how creative others can be in this genre and it definitely inspires me to try new things with my music as well. I'm glad you got to submit cuz this is a really nice soundtrack where all the tracks feel connected to one another. Also that battle theme goes hard. Good stuff!

Wow, everything about this soundtrack is doing it for me. The older soundfonts mixed with the more modern instrumentation, the mixing, the overall feel/mood; it's all quality stuff. I like how you pivoted your idea of Meteor Shower as it developed. Sometimes our tracks outgrow our original vision and that's perfectly fine! Anyways I had a blast with this soundtrack, great entry!

Like others are saying, I'm getting some serious Ori vibes from this soundtrack. Ori's OST is one of my favorite video game soundtracks of all time so it was great to hear some of that magic in this submission. Not really much else to say here, the production level is off the charts and the composition sounds lovely. Incredible work!

This was such a fun and charming soundtrack! Welcome to my World was a perfect intro to this soundtrack and the other two tracks definitely play off it well. You should be really proud of the quality you've been able to produce in a mere 9 days. Great job!

I really like the idea of each track representing a different emotional state! You represent each emotion well and your melodies sound really nice. I think having some more variation whether it be from the chords, bass, percussion, etc will help to keep each track sounding interesting and uplift the soundtrack as a whole. Overall though, nice submission and thanks for sharing!

When I read that this was inspired by old horror JRPGs I was so curious to see what direction you'd take this soundtrack. And honestly, I think you've nailed the atmosphere! Very mysterious and ominous sounding. My favorite track is probably "Real". The cover art is also really nice.

Wow, this is an awesome submission. You definitely nailed that dream-like sound you were going for. Every track is really catchy while still maintaining a certain subtleness to it. Your chord writing is also lovely. Great soundtrack!

This soundtrack is very pleasant to listen to! Your tracks are all really consistent in terms of maintaining the overall mood/feel. You had some really great ideas throughout all your tracks and I think if you expanded on them a bit more it would really take your soundtrack to the next level. This was a great listen, nice job!

I love the amount of thought and effort you put into fitting this jam's theme! The orchestration sounds very professional. I could totally see this within a story-oriented game like you mentioned. Congrats on a great track and submission!

A super fun and bubbly soundtrack! The steel drum (or at least that's what I think it was) was a great addition and really helped set the tone for the game. It also sounded like you had a lot of fun writing those basslines. Nice submission!

I really like what you've done here. The vibes with this soundtrack are immaculate across the board. As a flute player, Nirvanna Inn was such a fun listen and the little piano solo was also well executed. Nice job!

What a submission. I'm not too familiar with Electronic music but this production and orchestration are incredible. The motifs you set up at the beginning sound great and it's very rewarding hearing them throughout the entire soundtrack. Really great stuff!

Wow, I gotta take some notes on how you use Musescore! It's crazy how powerful it can be when used correctly. The orchestration and melodies in "up in the clouds" are beautiful. I would've loved to see your other ideas if not for the time constraints of this jam, but what you have here already sounds great!

What a pretty and sweet sounding soundtrack! These tracks are so full of life and character that its hard to single out one as my favorite. If I were to pick though, I'd go with "Dr. Kelp". The track matches Dr. Kelp's description really well so I think it works great as a character theme. Congrats!

You've conveyed a lot with just two tracks which is insanely impressive to me. Chiptune and guitar was a combo I never knew I needed and they work really well together. I also really liked the build up in "The Earth Can't Hold Me". As other comments are stating, you did a great job keeping the second track interesting despite its 8+ min runtime. Nice submission!

You're really good at writing catchy melodies. All of these tracks are written really well and stay faithful to the SNES style. That battle theme is pretty sick as well. Also bonus points for using UltraBox :D

I always like listening to music made to express oneself and I think you've done great with this soundtrack. This feels really unique and original while still being a very fun listen. Great soundtrack!

A lot of really cool and interesting ideas here. I'm definitely getting the dream-like vibe you were going for. I escpecially liked the instrumentation you used for "BRAT!" and "nightmare"; it all works really well. Nice work!

Nice submission! My personal favorite track is probably "Determination". There are a lot of interesting and fun ideas scattered throughout this soundtrack. If this is only your first jam, I'm excited to see what you cook up in future jams!

This was such a nice listen! You absolutely nailed the mood of this soundtrack and I can definitely see the GRIS inspiration. Your instrumentation is also lovely. Beautiful submission!

Wow, this entire soundtrack is arranged beautifully. Every track fits really well within your game and the composition is pure class. It's wild to me how you were able to produce so many tracks within the given timeframe. Definitely one of my favorites to listen to so far!
