yup

Great Visuals, felt a little slow and tedious, but def worth exploring!

Why did I enjoy this so much

I liked the idea, but boy howdy does it need a better font and more levels

Honestly, the perfect jam game. Every element, from the visuals, to the sound, to the gameplay, is straight to the point and streamlined for ease of use. Well done!

Super fun! I enjoyed scaling it and my cousin enjoyed correcting my gameplay from over my shoulder, always a good sign!

Finnicky jumps but easily the most interesting world I've seen in this jam so far

How was this made in one jam???

Scale affecting jump distance is very clever, not to mention the visuals are gorgeous!

Lotta bugs, very cheesy

I would have loved to see what it could've been with more time! I really liked the jumping, its a difficult thing to get right but the mechanics for this one was solid

The animation on the little guys is a chefs kiss for sure

CHEESE TIME

CHEESE TIME

Fantastic arrangement of games there, I think its the right way to allow for a lot of content in such a short amount of time!

Loved the art style and vibe and theme of all of it! I love the personality the mice get as they get more items and it has a solid gameplay loop, although I pretty much sped through the whole thing because I wanted it to go faster, but I'm glad that was at least an option!

This is a fascinating gameplay loop! The randomness of the triangle makes for some interesting decisions, but there were a few times I felt I got random'd into the wall or an obstacle. It feels tense and fast paced while still allowing for time to think, and the art and sound perfectly bring the vibe across!

As someone who also did some physics stuff in Godot for the Jam, Your rope physics are what I couldn't figure out how to implement in my game and I am slightly jealous.

The controls are interesting, and I'm not sure if that's good or bad yet. Not being able to control when the rocks fall meant I was waiting for a while and panicking when a bunch fell in rapid succession. But a solid concept that is doing what it set out to do!

Found myself laughing a lot as I played. Very Lovable and very fun!

Surprisingly fun mechanics,  VERY EASY TO CHEESE (lol), would love to see it expanded upon!

Turns out it was linked to the wrong file, should be fixed now

I love the feel of it! I just wish there were more minigames!

Recording lines in a hotel closet paid off! Thank you!

Unfortunately, the game is mainly auditory, so not being able to hear would ruin the whole experience. Is it a bug on our end?

We're Glad! That's kinda what we were going for!

That is what we were going for! Thank you!

(Also you don't need a fancy keyboard to cheat... there are other ways...)

Absolutely the best game I've played so far.

Loved it! Delightfully simple, but new things kept getting introduced to keep it entertaining!

I'm glad. How long did you play?

The self promotion:

The idea was one quicktime event, then it got a dash of interactive narration. It's either terrible or great, and I haven't decided which. Check it out and tell me for what you think.

One-eyed Wilson https://leifgood.itch.io/one-eyed-wilson is also one of the more interesting games i've played so far, along with Color-Blinded https://koyint.itch.io/colorblinded

Give it a little juice and it'll be amazing!

Very fun! I liked the concept!

This is super cool! We were tossing around a similar idea, but abandoned it and I am glad we did because you took it in a much more interesting direction! Can't wait to see the final result!

Today, we finally hit Guy is a room! Our game has a guy, and he is in a room. A little behind schedule, but we're finally there! He can jump and everything!

We also fleshed out the combat and the state engine we're gonna use, and broke down our ideas into the bare bones levels. Everything is planned out, and now its just a matter of execution and seeing how playable this end result is.

Its been a hot second since we updated! We decided to do the game jam kind of on a whim, so we're working around individual work schedules and meeting times. But today, all levels are designed, and we started with Gamemaker!

A LOT of issues have been encountered, including different sizes of art within the game, and making sure it all fits within a certain window, but luckily this is exactly why we're doing this game jam! To figure out small things, like making sure we're all working in the same size,  and generally chucking around ideas and playing with them.

One of the bigger ideas we're considering adding is that of a State Engine, so we can dictate what state the player is in. This should make coding simpler, (i.e. if you are in the jumping state, you cannot jump again) and some fun times with enemy Ai (Player is staggered, enemies get real aggro on ya) This should also allow for combos to be easily manageable and help make coding waaaaaay easier. But we're learning as we go, and first we have to keep this guy from disappearing when he touches the ground!

I don't see why you couldn't! You'd have to get a copy of RPG Maker 5, but it exports the sprites as PNG files, so you could literally just use it as a character drawer, not to mention use the marketplace to get some rad assets.

Yes! Very good! You're a braver soul than I a to attempt 3D! Well Done!

I got very excited reading this idea! It's a new and interesting  take on RPGs, and it should provide different strategies and ways of thinking about typical RPG gameplay!

Are you planning on making this in RPG Maker or in a different game engine? I know RPG Maker 5 has a ton of free assets you can use,  including a character maker.

Can't wait to play! Good luck!

Now that the jam is started, We can finally get it going! We got two new people to help with coding and game design (also friends whose last names start with B) and we just started GOING!

If you want to view our mess of a design doc, you can check it out https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ir-VpxGeZ6HUxes2lkWocutJyqIFpLHB4WdDZVSgpP4/...

And also, the concept art for the main character is finished! Our artist has gone through I think 8 drafts? Part of the design is not seeing any skin, just the clothes the player and the enemies wear.

We're working on coding now, and hopefully we'll have a player, a starting level, and some basic enemies for you guys to mess around in!

Feel free to ask if you have any comments, questions, or feedback!
