haha, thanks for the comment! Frank composed one of the songs for the jam and mixed together all sfx.

Simple, but could not stop popping those balloons! Thanks for the entry

Fun little game! I did not see the real differene with the different colored ghosts, but blasted them all anyway :)  An indicator for when ghosts were behind you would have helped a lot with getting hit from the back, in the end I ended up using an outwoards spiral move pattern which minimized the risk of getting hit from behind. Thanks for the entry!

Nice game, was a little confused how to beat the third level, could not do any dmg and could not get to Objective A, but I liked the mechanics of the game, thanks for the entry!

Also had debt rather then money and could never pay a doctor, but I liked the game a lot! Nice 8bit raggey and art. Thanks for the entry!

Nice entry! Also found running away and hiding during the bosses was the best approach, the return to the ship once done. Good choice of music, with nice atmosphere.

Fun game, was lacking some music, I did not struggle as much as the rest with the controls I think, or were not as bothered by it. very fitting cover art :) thanks for the entry!

I suck as a frog. so much I know now, I always went to the edge and got stung by the bees. Perhaps an indicator showing where bees were incomming would let you collect those flies close to the edge without having to worry that a bee was going to get you as soon as you tried to get it. All in all a very fun game, espeiclly the death sound! Love the art as well. Thanks for the entry!

Ah I see, I wandered around roughly 5min trying to see if there was another area or switch or anything else I could do :D Will give it another try if I get the time :)

What a fun game! Thanks for the entry. I beat the boss first try :D Good balance of enemy types. Good fitting visuals, good powerups, though the red arrows were way less op than the green rapid fire.

Shot some ducks and whacked some moles. Nice refreshing entry, especially considering this was your first godot game. Learning and engine in such a short time is a feat! Congrats :)

For people that don't have a normal arrow key cluster, I think the good old ijkl (like in liro for those old enough to remember that game) would have worked well for this. I am not saying that the controls were bad, as I by no means use a regular keyboard, as my < and > keys are below c and v, so can't hit those while using wsad to move.

Silly me did not realize there were choices and I pressed space, leading to the worst outcomes for the first 2 memories. then it was to late. I really enjoyed this game, great entry with awesome presentation and music.

At first I did not notice that I could move, and the gun would not fire, one I saw the top right display for the control scheme it all clicked. Great enty! Fun game :)

Only killed one enemy, then built some turrents, were there suppose to be more waves? Looks good and the music was very nice.

Fun game, controlls were hard for me (using a glove80 as keyboard) but managed to get by shooting only up and down. :) And permanent upgrades fits the game perfectly! Great cover art, Thanks for the entry!

Got 1500 score then let myself die, good start, could have benifited from another enemy type rather then more player ships, only one life, and a leaderboard. But for a gamejab great job! Controls feel good, music and sfx tie in well with the art style,

Also had some issues with aiming, but I love the asthetics and flair of the game, awesome entry!

Given the time constraints it sounds like you had you did a great job! The 2d / 3d fits nicely.

Thanks for the nice comment :) We did have a version early on with a "safe" zone for the drink pickup, but we removed it, felt like the UI was getting in the way of the awesome art. We also had a build without the "lean" indicator, so you only had the character as indicator, which was a lot of fun, but increased the barrier of entry too much we felt like.

Fun game! A bit hard to get the hang of, but once those upgrades get's unlocked it starts to click! What a great entry!

Good entry! The sound was a bit different than what we expected, but we made some burgers!

Thank you for the lovely comment!
The other 2 power ups are passive; the dash upgrade lets you dash through multiple enemies at once (and further) whilst the squeeze upgrade let's you get into those tight areas.
We had one upgrade "inner sense" which would have revealed the missing part locations; never got round to doing that one.

Thank you for the comment! :)
I agree, we did not get the VO clips in the game before T-4 hours, and there were other pressing manners that needed addressing. We ended up reducing the default volume and sfx; but the plan was to further dip these two when VO was playing; it's one of the changes we will work on once voting period has ended :)

Thank you for the very in depth comment and the kind words! Sorry that you ran into those issues!

We were not aware of the shocked bug, thank you for finding it and posting it; we will try to reproduce it and get rid of it :)
We were aware of the "dash into small gap and go flying" bug, we plan to address this by adding another voice line informing the player that an upgrade is required; but since this is not a game breaking bug (just an annoying one) we will not fix it for before the voting period ends. After that we have a few improvements we want to incorporate into the game.

Thank you! You only have to find 18 out of 20 elements :D

But if you miss a few, it can be challenging to know where you have to go back and look...

The kurzgesagt book "Immune" was on my desk throughout this project ;)

We got the narration working in the game with 4 hours to spare and many bugs still to fix; one feature we want is to dip the music volume when a narration clip plays. On the Todo after the voting period ends ;) Subtitles might also be a way to go. We have quite a few UI text elements, so we would have to make sure these don't overlap with the subtitles.

Thanks for the comment! We tried something along these lines (always swim in pointer direction), but as a team we felt like the movement system in place was more satisfying. A gamepad integration is definitely ion the post game jam todo list :)

Sorry to hear that; will look into getting a windows build up soon so you can have a go!

We asked the organizers and it was ok; we formed the team before the rule was announced.

Nice entry! felt like there should have been at least 20 seconds more content before we jumped to 2D; since you obviously spent some time making the first area. Nice level design; felt jarring being able to walk over houses though. For the King!! well, guess not? ;)

Fun game to play; I am guessing the next step was to get the boss fight working and then you jump back to the 3d world?

Thank you for the comment! Yes we also had this issue a few times; though only very seldom. We think it is because a slight frame drop causing the enemy to never reach it's target position; resulting in the flicker.

Lovely concept! fun short relaxing game; enjoyed it, with a very nice ending screen; Though how can there not be any bunny hopping with a bunny hopping? 🤣 (joking)

Fun little game, liked the physics references :) Glad you got the game working in the end!

I went the wrong way first and ended up backtracking quite a bit to get to the light xD I really liked   this game, I wanted to continue playing :) Also the name is clever

Fun game, reminded me of similar game I played on my smartphone a few years back. as others have pointed out, the movement could be improved by either

  • scrolling with mouse wheel
  • removing limit when tapping keys / And or holding keys
  • "click and drag" movement.

I had a fun time playing this though, played it 4 times before I gave up getting on the leaderboard ;) Thank you for submitting this!

Thank you for the comment! we decided to go the "kirby" route which was easier to balance against. Had we had more time we might have made multiple upgrades possible at the same time; with more of them.
We feel as if we incorporated the theme best explained by one of the first lines of the narration: "The Immune System, a bottomless pit of complexity; though from the view of a cell, life is essentially in 2 Dimensions." We wanted to move away from what we expected a lot of people to do; and tried to add a more creative interpretation of the theme

I want to start by saying that this is a fun game; especially the coffee chugging :D
Took me some time before I figured out "E" is to interact, but that may be due to playing to many other submitted games recently that use other key bindings....The resolution seems a bit off in webGL view (at least for the main menu) Very fun Game! should be a way to quickly try out another scenario without having to watch the intro (may there is but when I press the "X" I get the following error: "An error occurred running the Unity content on this page. See your browser JavaScript console for more info. The error was: RuntimeError: indirect call to null" (firefox)

Truly well done game! Runs smoothly; looks amazing and plays just like you would expect from an old arcade machine!
