Very fun! Great level design. I'm team dendrite for sure.

Really nice game! Kinda felt weird when the narration started overlapping but still really good game!
Love the narration at the beginning. Everything looks really good, too. The environments are inviting and interesting, and it reminds me of spore in the early cell stages. I couldn't figure out how to use the power ups (besides the shoot one) but I still had fun playing and exploring. I wish there was maybe some way to tell what direction has more of the yellow things you're gathering, though. The map is pretty big to just remember it all. At least to me. Still, very fun!
Thank you for the lovely comment!
The other 2 power ups are passive; the dash upgrade lets you dash through multiple enemies at once (and further) whilst the squeeze upgrade let's you get into those tight areas.
We had one upgrade "inner sense" which would have revealed the missing part locations; never got round to doing that one.
This game was great! The music was really good. I would say that just about the only thing that I had a problem with was the mixing with the voice on default settings. There were points where I couldn't hear the narrator speak just because the music was so loud or the VO was so low.
But like everything else was amazing. The gameplay was cool, I would've liked a minimap at some points but otherwise I mean this was great :)
Thank you for the comment! :)
I agree, we did not get the VO clips in the game before T-4 hours, and there were other pressing manners that needed addressing. We ended up reducing the default volume and sfx; but the plan was to further dip these two when VO was playing; it's one of the changes we will work on once voting period has ended :)
Right from the get-go I could tell this was going to have some amazing presentation to it. The narration was a nice touch to a very original setting. Cool that you took something that you likely have a knowledge or interest of and used it to inject game mechanics. All the colourful little cells and organisms were filled with character and uniquely animated. Well done!
Cool game, I loved how you modify yourself by gaining the DNA of what you kill, cool concept and the story telling is nice
but the game is a bit large for a jam game, I got lost and navigating electricities was difficult since pressing right for example won’t move the body to the right but rotate it slowly and move to whatever angle it’s facing, this has caused me to take damage many times
Thank you, we are very pleased with how the game came out too :) . Yes, I love the DNA aspect too. Did you know that bacteria can share DNA/RNA with each other? Like if one bacteria is resistant to a antibiotic, it can share the DNA/RNA of resistance with another bacteria of similar make up. Of course this is not true for a white blood cell such as Dendi but still a game does not have to perfectly realistic, just fun.
Yes, I think it is easy to get lost in the map too, although it is only a small map in unity editor. The freedom to explore in any direction makes it feel big and then there only one location to deposit the enemy parts which you have to find again. We plan to do a mini update fixing some small issues, quality of life, balancing, explaining mechanics more etc; so we may do something about this such as a mini map or a home arrow. Not sure.
Can you explain the bug that you potenial have found? It is the first time this one has been reported. Maybe we can patch this after the voting with our mini update. Is it only the right direction? or are you describing the floating aspect of the player, which we intended. The dash should allow instant motion any direction to escape danger.
No, I didn’t know, that’s some cool information, I love games that do teach you something besides the fun
Having a distinct background colour for each an area in the map could help with easier navigation so that you just remember I started from red and green is to the red’s left, you can check how hollow knight and ori managed to do this
It’s not a bug, it’s the normal player movement with the smooth rotation upon movement since the movement in the game is crucial and there are narrow passages you have to pass through without touching the surrounding makes the smooth rotation works against you since you took some time to reach the direction you’re seeking, no need to completely remove it, just make the player rotates faster, that should do
I loved this game, it was very well done and the narration was professional level! I loved the exploration and the different powerUps based on the enemy you killed and switching between them for certain parts. Really beautiful game and so well done! Amazing work, full team on it can be noticed for sure! Great work everyone!! :)
One bug I was able to come across few times (one time I got out it if. the last time I couldn't anymore, I could only see part of my body and the rest was inside the wall (couldn't for some reason post a SS here). I was clipping through some walls/etc. The physics system or something just completely threw me with enourmous force after I got shocked and it clipped through the wall. The other time I tried squeezing through those small holes (before I realised that you need the powerUp for those, maybe that could use a small popup saying you need the powerUp/etc.), and I used the dash power and I went FLYYYIIIING all over the map, with clipping through walls and enemies and thankfully the shocks ended up stopping me within the map so I was able to carry on from that.
Unfortunately though after collecting so many and dying like that really demotivated me and I ended up quitting. But that's no blame of the actual gameplay, just a small bug!
Absolutely loved this game and with small polishing and fine-tuning I would say you have a full on game here!
Thank you for the very in depth comment and the kind words! Sorry that you ran into those issues!
We were not aware of the shocked bug, thank you for finding it and posting it; we will try to reproduce it and get rid of it :)
We were aware of the "dash into small gap and go flying" bug, we plan to address this by adding another voice line informing the player that an upgrade is required; but since this is not a game breaking bug (just an annoying one) we will not fix it for before the voting period ends. After that we have a few improvements we want to incorporate into the game.
Love how the game looks and sounds. Everything I saw is candy to my eyes (except the setting). The gameplay is fun, you could explore until you have a good amount of the enemy part to send, but in doing so you risk losing all of them in a faraway place if you die. Ironically enough, the virus and bacteria rarely get me near death. Red blood cell is the one that actually kill me in no time flat. I don't see the reason to use shoot upgrade over the other upgrades at all. The narrator voice sound like a documentary narrator, which is good. The story is educational.
Overall, great game. One of the best I have played this jam.
Definitely one of the best one's I have played so far. Congrats on this outstanding submission!
Wow, really nice game, congratulations! The theme, the mechanics, the art is all amazing. Really well polished!
What a nice submission. This is very polished and fun to play. The controls are smooth. It was fun to move around as the cell. The world felt alive and the story glued it all together. I enjoyed the narration as well. it is a very good game.
This is a really great game! Love the atmosphere, art style and the narration. Makes for a fun and interesting game, and also a good learning experience.
