Great game! I'm impressed with the level of polish!
I had so much trouble with the second level, but i'm glad i persevered! The third level was so cool, and i loved the end game animation :) It felt so great to escape with the music.
The game itself is pretty fun, even if i was a little bit frustrated by my terrible skills ahah.
I had some freezes at key moments (first person hitting a pole, end of lvl 3, beginning of the end animation) but i guess you already know about that.
Overall congrats, it's really polished! I will take a look at your other games
Thanks for playing my toy/game! Yes, the buttons are "Recruit" or "Dismiss". I made them like 15 minutes before the deadline so the art is awful ahah, I plan on improving that.
The idea that i didn't have time to implement was to make a "loop" where you recruit X number of knights, then you have a little bit of narration about the king/queen dying and the passage of time, and you start a new round table company!
I am indeed plannning of adding interactions/adventures/events, also procedural! I'm already working on an update with all of the above and more that i'll release next week i think :)
It's like Doom, but less edgy and more gay. Perfect.
On a more serious note this is incredible and feel so great to play. Only issue is that i got serious lags starting from lvl 2... I can't do the 15 minutes challenge with those. I played on Firefox, i will try on another browser.
The art is gorgeous, the game feels great. I enjoyed doing a little bit of strategy/risk with the health pack dropping in close combat. The music and sound effects are great too, same for the UI!
Haven't unlocked any of the spicy extra yet, so i can't tell anything about those. But i'm gonna come back ahah (found the... used rooms in the 2nd lvl though) (now i feel bad for killing those horny fuckers)
I LOVE it. It's like TABS but with narration. The simple artstyle also works very well. The rivalry between the two grandpas and their names remind me of the two old men in TF2 lore, and i love the stupidity of it.
Really the concept is so simple but smart, the back and forth ensure interesting battle while keeping it balanced. I even got surprises with unexpected results sometimes. I got the West to win 5 or 6 battles one after another!
Really creative units too, and great animations! Would love to see more units added
It gave me so many ideas of things to code and mix with procedural generation :)
Thanks! Was planning on doing something simple for the ending, with a way to export your gang of knights as a picture + text. I had at the beginning the idea of generating more complex Arthurian stories involving each knight (and developping relationships together), but i know fear that it may chase away the simplicity of the narration that, i think, make the strengh of the tool right now.
But I at least want to add a little bit of polish, + maybe "inheritance" of traits to the next generation? I think it could be cool to create a similar tool that makes family trees.
The concept is so funny to me, i kept thinking of the greek soldiers being thrown all over the place inside the horse as he flip and insanely roll down the walls. Would love to see more content (different areas? mechanics with getting over the wall/inside the city?)
Again the idea is really smart and silly, good job :)
Love the mix and the overall experimentations, looks like you had a lot of fun creating this :)
the sprites are gorgeous, especially the Snowfox. He's terrifying.
I think the camera angle is a little bit frustrating, i would like to be able to see more in front of me than behind.
Also the voice acting on the postjam version is incredible!
Overall congrats, very fun to play. Would like to see more of the story!
This is really impressive! Congrats! The UI is really on point and fluid. Haven't explored all the options yet, I think. It's hard to know all the possibilities.
A small issue: I was playing in English and the first texts of the Sunken Forest were still in Portuguese!
Great mood, incredible art (love your art style). It's especially satisfying when you read the text, look closer at the image and notice the details mentionned in the text (the lights, the figures) The icons are also great.
Would love to see a full experience! I really got this feeling of reading a Lovecraft book
I went quite far but i'm stuck with how to find the Rusalka and the forest Wife :/
The gameplay is really interesting, i like the idea of this uncertain world where that you build up as you go. The first impressions are strange but cool.
As the other comment says the controls are weird, which make item pickup kinda weird, but i almost like it (probably not the way to go though ahah)
I love the texts when you change characters! Really set the vibes.
The initial text is a little bit long, and not that clear though.
Great project, very original! I ended up playing for quite some time and would have liked to go further, but the world is vast and i'm stuck.
Ps: love the animated outlines of the objects!
I always wonder why there's so few narrative games, expecially with a theme like that!
Love the concept! I don't know if it's intended, but it plays almost like a puzzle after some time: you look a the name of the legends and try to understand what would have caused the missinterpretation. Really creative concept! The writing stays simple but is really nice! It feels very alive.
I think i may have had some issues with having the wrong result when pressing a button? I'm not sure though.
Is there more than Goats & Banshees? I haven't been able to unlock other ones.
Let me know if you add more later, i would love to play them!
Congrats :)
I finished with a time of 1541! Some of those levels were challenging ahah. I love the concept of the gnomes migration. I think i may have wanted more occasions to use the common Gnomes, especially as they might be the one with the most creative uses (i absolutely did not finish the last level the "correct" way ahah)
The controls work well!
Great job.
Love the atmosphere and the art! Especially the character art! The music and sounds effect also really put you in the mood!
I was abble to go around 750 metters, don't know if there's more content deeper?
I think a little bit more attention to the fact that my whole crew DIED would be great ahah, i was horrified at first when the submarine broke. A sentence or two to acknoledge their lost would be great imo.
At first the controls where quite unintuitive, but when i understood that i had to go slowly and steer when slowing down/lifting, it felt better and really felt like controlling a submarine at the end of a cable.
I wonder how the levels are generated?
I also really liked the pickable lore pieces, would be great to be able to bring them home and have some unlockables/be able to read them again (thinking of the wildcard ahah). Idk i really like the idea of having a lot of crews sinking there over generations, i think a feeling of time passing would add something to the experience!
Anyway! Incredible game, congrats! And i just noticed that you did it alone, wow!
I LOVE Apollo (and this comes from a Apollo hater) ahah
I'm not really sure to understand how to progress, i go to random combination of place + weather and spam click the temple, which *kinda* works... I would like to try if you explain more clearly what i shoud do. Also while i love the interactions with the characters, i don't really feel like most of them are making me progress?
And I'm kinda confused about what i'm looking for? Since the art piece is at the same time the challenge to Athena and the way to go to places... am i looking for the right combination to defeat Athena?
The weave effect is really well made, and i love interracting with all the different characters. Would be incredible (but a lot of work) if there was different dialogues depending on the place of the discussion!
Thanks! The original idea was to have each knight go on an (textual and procedurally generated) adventure! The idea was to make them interact with eachother, become friends, lovers, rivals.
And i also had ideas of implementing "genealogy" with new generation of knights getting some traits from the older one? Idk.
:)
Love the vibes! I wandered in the desert, missed the town and went straight to the secret ending the first time ahah. I've got a more standrt ending. Will try to go further tomorow.
The atmosphere is great, i love the static pictures for the interiors. I can't really explain why, but the "fake" atmosphere make it even scarier when things go down. The sounds effects work really well too.
I'm really impressed, especially solo! Great job :)
This is amazing. I haven't found any named creature yet. This is simple and yet beautiful. It combines two (three?) of my passions: Prcodural generation, huge-terrifying scopes, and weird pixel art interractive stuff.
I also love the landscapes when you're zoomed on the planet. I don't know if those are generated too or hand drawn? Anyway, they really give a frightening and beautiful sense of scale too.
Thanks for this experience <3
