Amazing thanks for doing this

Play now on Itch!

Just released my game about the ongoing US election onto Itch. It is a farting ass rhythm game / politics simulator.

Recently the game was voted 4th best game of September over on Newgrounds.

they were going to just be something you could look at and they’d have a bit of flavour text but nothing integral to the game. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to finish them before the jam deadline and also I forgot to take them out. So in the end they’re just a mystery thing for people to wonder about. There IS an explanation for what they are and why they are where they are in universe which the flavour text would have made clear, and people who’ve played one of my other games could probably figure it out.

I can’t wait!

thank you so much! Really enjoyed the video

I think if I’d had more time on it I’d have put more story into the dreams. But as it stands I only had limited time to develop it because I had some other responsibilities to take care of as well. I’m thinking of making a Mære 3 in 2025 and this time I might not restrict myself to doing it for a jam

Thanks!

Thanks! I think I’ve struggled a bit with teaching players how to play. I’ve seen some players play it on YouTube and some don’t understand it at all. I need to figure out a better way to on board if I am to continue the series.

Thanks for the kind comments! :)

I’m a huge fan of this game.

I love it! We both made retro styled games but I think yours follows the restrictions of the consoles a little more closely than mine. Great work

I really love the visuals!

Visually stunning!

The creature design is genuinely disturbing! Would love to see this expanded upon for a bigger game

Its a good entry even to say you had such a short amount of time to work on it. You really nailed the atmosphere

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The models and textures work so well. Great job!

I absolutely loved it haha

Thanks. Yours was one of my favourites so far

Challenging platforming and i really liked how you had a high road and low road similar to the level design in games like Sonic the Hedgehog. Helps with replayability because whenever I found myself getting stuck on certain parts I'd just try finding another way around it.

This game is hard! But I really enjoyed the art style and doom style enemies. I'd say it reminds me of an almost cartoonish version of the original Doom or Duke Nukem games. Best I can do is about 8 seconds and I don't always see the enemies. Got any tips for surviving longer?

When the monster comes for you you can hide inside a house with the lights on if you can reach one in time. But don't leave straight away because you need to give it time to move on

I very nearly didn't pull it off as creating the map proved to be more of a slog than expected. The reason the map looks a little bitty when you press enter and view it is because I had to take out some areas for time. Originally the game was also supposed to have an allotment area and an industrial estate. But to be honest the map is large enough as it is and Peanut doesn't need even more places to be hiding haha.

Really like your art style. It gives the game so much personality.

I remember your work from Black Cat Jam ScreamJam 2023!
Had fun with this. Great arcade action. I liked pressing shift and then jumping right after so it looked like I was taking off like a jet lol

Goddamn you really nailed the aesthetic on this! Stellar work!

The mismatched art styles between the characters and the Kind Man really add to the creepiness of it in a simple way. Good work!

Amazing lighting effects! It has an excellent atmosphere and the music especially stood out to me.

Great job guys! :)

Interesting take on Asteroids. I'm surprised we haven't seen more people take on the formula in a novel way before.

Both he and the monster wander around the map on their own so sometimes he can be a nightmare to find but then other times hes just chilling near the house anyway. I figured its good for replayability that way. Did you get any of the endings yet?

Genuinely unsettling and one of the best jump scares I've seen so far today.

lol I don't really know what else I expected. I knew it was coming and it still got me

The game seems interesting but I'm struggling without instructions. I can get to the computer screen with the two guys sat in front of it. Please can you tell me more about how to play as this seems really interesting to me.

I really liked the horror aesthetics of the game. The main character is really creepy.

I think an improvement could be that you could shoot where your mouse is aiming. But I stil lgot the hang of it.

To anyone who plays this it takes a little time for the enemies to spawn in and the pumpkins are not the enemies. At first I thought that the game was broken but it turns out I wasn't shooting the enemies lol

I expcted this to be a Metroid-like but then it turned out to be more of a Zelda 2 type game. Really cool! I enjoyed playing it but got a bit stuck in the room with multiple flies and the platforming. I'll probably go back and try to get further though.

Attempt to reenter your house 3 times without finding Peanut.

Stay Indoors is a exploration horror game which tries to emulate the style and restrictions of a ZX-Spectrum title. Two reasons, number one I thought it might be interesting to try this and number two to support a meta story about the game being a real game I had back then that is seemingly cursed.  I made it for both ScreamJam 2024 and the Newgrounds Halloween Spooktacular

The premise of the game itself is that you live in a town where no one leaves the house at night following an incident which you, a young kid, have not been fully made aware of the details. One night your dog escapes and you decide that if its really that dangerous out at night, you need to find him as soon as possible and so you venture out to find him.

The dog (and other entities) will wander around the map and your job is to find the dog and get back before whatever it is that's got the adults so spooked finds you. There are 5 endings, and clues as to the nature of the incident that led to this situation happening to find.

Thanks! I’m glad I pulled that off :)

Hi!!

I was a huge fan of this video when I watched it last year. I just wanted to let you know that the new game has finally released. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it and how you feel the game has evolved since the original.

The one has just been released. I’d love to get your opinion on it as someone who has recently played the original!

Thanks!
